Hi,
They are mostly settings which you might use in a custom ROM ,if the dev advises it.
USB debugging should be ticked if you want to interact with your phone via the pc.

-if you want to get your phone snappier, set window, transition, animation scales to off.
-if you want to gain more free ram, set background process limit to 4 or less.
-if you are a hard-core gamer, want best graphics, less lag, enable "Force 4x MSAA.

Generally, you can enable USB Debugging by selecting
Settings option -> Applications -> Development -> Check the box for USB Debugging to turn it on
But sometimes, the checkbox for 'USB Debugging' is unchecked and greyed (in my case). That's because the tab is currently using another USB setting scheme which disabled the USB Debugging.
There are 4 setting scheme under Setting option->Wireless and Network->USB setting:
Samsung Kies
Media Player
Mass Storage
Ask on connection
Normally the "Samsung Kies" is selected. Change it to "Ask on connection" and go back to Setting->Applications->Development->USB Debugging, you will find it is enabled and can be checked.
You're right. The pre-configured USB connection mode will override some detailed options.

I find this a pain to drill thru the menus to switch this on an off when needed. Has anyone found a widget that can control this from the home screen. I've looked and yet to find one. Since I have an AT&T SGT I have to frequently turn USB debugging on when using the Sideloading Wonder Machine app as AT&T locked out the option for sideloading apps normally. Again, it's a pain to drill thru the menus.
If you use ADW Ex (may work with ADW or another launcher that provides "Activity" or intent based shortcuts), you can create an icon that will take you directly to the page with Application options. To get to it in ADW Ex, choose add "Custom Shortcut", tap "Pick your activity", click "Activities", scroll down to "Settings", tap to expand, tap "Development(.DevelopmentSettings)" and that will directly bring up the page with the USB Debugging checkbox. I'm not sure if that particular activity was in ADW's list, but I know for certain it's in ADW Ex, as I have such an icon on one of my screens.

You're awesome! Works in a P1010 (wifi only) Tab as well, same options. Thanks!
I have tried and it does improved the speed and smoothness on our stock Note 4. The beauty is we don't need root and very easy to do. Enjoy!!

Nice to hear. If you drop all 3 animations in developer settings down to zero, it's even quicker. Some people like a little transition so they keep it at 0.5x
Definitely helped. Forgot about some of these options. Hadn't been on TouchWiz for a while. Thanks again!
Cliff notes for those that can't YouTube:
1. Change Animation Scale - Enable Developer mode under Settings > About phone > 'Build Number' (tap until developer menu active), under developer menu update Window/Transition/Animator to 0.5x
2. Disable S Voice Launch from Home Key - open S Voice, settings, open with home key double press option (I think this is disabled by default on Verizon version because mine was already off).
3. Disable Briefing app and home screen animations - Long press multitask button, settings, uncheck briefing app and animations set to none.
4. Disable unwanted pre-installed apps - Go to App drawer, settings, uninstall/disable apps option, pick and choose as desired.
I used to do this on my note 3. Good video. Hope this transcript helped. Thanks.
Nicely done @h3ck...Thanks!!
You need to keep developer options on, if you turn it off, it resets the animation settings, noticed this for the Verizon version

Hey there, is there any way how to stop that feature that will kill App in background (especially Pokemon GO), when im using Pokemon Go Plus, original App must be fully loaded in Background. But after few minutes phone will "kill" pokemon go and i have to reload game and pair it with Pokemon GO plus again.
Is there any way how to make App/Game priority so phone wont kill it when im not using it ?
Hope you understand

I have a few things for you to try
1.
Settings > Device Maintenance > Battery > Advanced(top right)
You can either just turn off App Power Monitor (if you do ignore number 2.)
or if you want to use it still you can click on it and then click "put unused apps to sleep" and change the sleep delay.
2.
Settings > Device Maintenance > Battery > Unmonitored Apps (scroll right down to the bottom to find it)
and add the apps you dont want it to monitor.
If none of this has worked for you its possible an option in devloper settings is enabled.
3.
Settings > About Phone > Software Information > Tap "build number" over and over untill Developer Mode is enabled
Then go to
Settings > Developer options (at the very bottom) > Make sure "Do not keep activities" is turned off and that "limit background processes" is set to standard.
Hope this helps :good:
Is there an option on the LG G6 to make app scaling to full screen 18.9 the default for all new apps?
Each time I install a new app I need to manually go in the app scaling settings and change it to 18.9. I would like the install to do this by default.
There aren't many apps that seem to do anything different with this setting, but I want to try them all to see, and hope that some of them will make a difference.
News360 looks pretty nice in full screen reading.
Thanks!

Thanks, but by "secret menu", do you mean the "developer options" settings menu? I have it activatesd, but I don't see any SVC menu? Or is there another secret menu I don't know about and that I need to activate?
Thanks.
Open "Phone", dial this *#546368#*870#, go to SVC Menu, at the end there is "Force Long Display Mode", turn it ON. Reboot and enjoy.

No, i mean the secret menu, not the developer options, you can access to it by dialing *#546368#*870#
If you don't have an'H870 you have to change those digits with the ones of your model.

Thanks.... while I am at it, different topic, but is there a way to customize the "do not disturb" option so that when I have the phone in "do not disturb" on a schedule, it would be silent but still vibrate? The settings don't give that option.
I don't want to have to manually set my phone to vibrate mode. Instead I want my "do not disturb" schedule to be a "vibrate mode" schedule.
Thanks,

Go into your device Settings menu -> Scroll down to About phone -> scroll down to the Build number and keep tapping it till you see a small toast message stating that your Developer Options has been enabled and then go back just once into the device Settings menu and you'll now see the Developer Options just above the About phone.
Enter the Developer Options menu and scroll down (approximately half way) till you see "Select USB Configuration" and select that. The choice you make here will be the devices "Default" choice for handling the USB connection.
You'll still be able to change it upon demand without changing the default option unless you go back in and change the default option again.
Also, once you have enabled the Developer Options menu, it will remained available at the same location towards the bottom of the device Settings menu.
Good Luck!
