I am not receiving some sms notifications its thing the problem same on stock, chomp and handcent, have deleted greenify and wiped and re installed ROM but still have the problem, the sms are coming threw cos they are there when i open the app but just no notification.
Can Viber or whatsapp effect stock sms app notifications in and way?

So i just rooted and installed handcent and turned off stock sms notifications but when receiving text i was getting a notification from handcent and what i thought was the stock app. But then i turned on stock sms notifications and now i get notification from handcent, one from stock app and and one that says New Message(s) You have an unread message and it looks like a little picture of envelope or post card. I have no idea where that notification is coming from. its very annoying please help
Never mind thread can be closed found out that even if you don't use beautiful widgets sms that the notification will still show
When I get a voice mail notification, I'm seeing the "push" notification of Visual Voicemail in it's SMS form.
Anyway that I can hide the voice mail SMS from the SMS client?
I'm currently using Handcent SMS, but I have not checked it happens with Sense stock messaging.
If you're using handcent, just blacklist it.
I didn't see those notifications under stock SMS, but handcent and chompSMS both show it. Best way to deal with it was to blacklist it. I've had mixed success with handcent (sometimes it still shows even if blacklisted) but blacklisting it on ChompSMS removed the issue completely.
Hey guys, I just rooted my phone and flashed to Cyanogen. However, I am still getting duplicate SMS/messaging notifications. I was using the stock Messaging program prior so I do not know if this problem previously existed.
I have disabled the notifications and auto-retrieve from the stock Messaging program.
I have enabled the notifications and delivery on chompSMS.
What have I done wrong? I've done some searching around, heard to reinstall messaging but that process just seems a little difficult. Have I missed something along the way?

Disable notifications in both apps and send yourself an SMS (although auto-retrieve should be on). Do you get a notification? If so, from which app?
Disabled notifications in ChompSMS and disabled notifications/auto-retrieve in Messaging.
Still getting notification from stock Messaging program.

Crazy... can't help I'm afraid...
I've been using Chomp sms. But decided to go back to the stock messaging app. Alls fine until I receive an alert - trouble is I can't hear it? I've disabled notification alerts in Chomp, but no audible alert tone is playing in stock app, even tho alert notifications are enabled in stock app.
I'm also not getting the envelope icon on my pull home screen pull down , must be a bug?

SOLVED -just un installed Chomp completely. There was no other way around in. It's as should be now.
Any one having this issue once their hangouts app gets upgraded. I get the sms but i have to open hangouts to see it. I also disabled my lightflow notifications for hangouts to see if that was the issue but still no change.
