Hi All,
I DID search and I'm pretty sure this worked on the SGS3 4G but I can't seem to find the option to send pictures straight from the gallery. When I click the share button I get about 12 options (mostly stuff I couldn't care less about) including MMS but nothing to send via email.
Am I missing something or is there something wrong here? I've cleared data and cache for the gallery and restarted but there's nothing there.
TIA
EDIT: Sorry, never mind, found the problem. Got to be in the overview where multiple are displayed. Once I'm viewing just one picture email is missing from the share list....
See my attatched pic. This is what options I have. It seems strange you do not have email options. I have 2, the Gmail one and the Samsung one.
Try scrolling because I have another 4 options if I scroll.
I have 17 options once I open/view a single picture (where I can now zoom in and out) and press the share button. When when I'm in the view that shows multiple pictures and I long press one of the pictures them same share button gives me 19 options. Gmail and Mail to NOT show up the other way.
Is this different for you?
Mine shows up both ways. Single select or multi select.

What a mess...just to clarify: You press Gallery, you press the camera folder, you press one single image and you are now viewing just that one image. Now if you press the 'share' button you get gmail and email???
Thanks
Gallery, Albums, press image, share button at top, press share, and various options to share to including Gmail and stock Samsung client.

Short press the image right? When I long press it I get the options but short press the image open and they're gone. Maybe it's a bug, what firmware are you on?
Thanks

Short and long. When the share is there, everything I can possibly share it to is there.

I just purchased this HTC 8525 from a man on ebay. He has it upgraded to 6.0. Everything looks great except for a problem I am having. I will give an example: I was trying to put pictures on my contacts. When I click tap here to insert pic it brings up a grid with pics. When the grid shows up the first pic is highlighted like always. Now when I choose another pic they are both highlighted and I can choose neither of them. It is like I was holding the shift key on my pc and choosing a few files at a time. It does the same thing in my list of texts. If I get 2 texts and I can't choose one below the highlighted first one because they will both be highlighted and it won't open. Now it does not do it all the time, maybe 98% of the time. I hate it!
I have hard reset this twice and it hasn't helped.
I hope someone has an easy fix to this!

Does it do that if you move down a list of files by using the scroll wheel or the d/pad down arrow? AND, if not can you then select the file by pushing in the scroll wheel or the central button on the d/pad?

First off, i did use the search on the forum and didnt find any clues! :/
google search terms were:
+hd2 +leo insert picture message email slow storage card site:http://forum.xda-developers.com
My problem is whenever i need to attach pictures to an email i take ages because accessing the pictures folder on storage card from "tmail.exe" is extremely SLOW! And on top of that i need to do it ONE by ONE! (i only have about 100 pics)
Is it my HD2 or it happens with you guys too? Is there any solution or way around it? I tried to see if there was any CACHE tweak for this problem but with no sucess!
Thanks in advance for all your anwsers!

instead of attaching a pic to an email, go to the picture u want, tap the screen once, tap on the double arrows icon, which gives u the email option, go from there.

Yes...but the problem persists if you want to add more than one picture...! Yesterday i took 5 minutes to add 6 pics...and i didnt even wait for the thumbnail to show, nor needed to scroll down the list or else i would have wasted several "5 minutes"....
ok. listen. it is quite simple...
open album, stay in thumbnail mode, press 'menu' (right onscreen soft key), 'share', 'mail', select pictures by pressing their thumbnail, 'ok' (left soft key).
how cool is that??

THAT IS VERY COOL!!! Thanks a lot...!!!
I just dont understand why cant we access with this ease, through mail app itself! But ok..this workaround suits me (and everybody, i think..)!!!
Tonight I was trying to take a picture and email it and the phone became completely unusable. I'd like to see if this is a problem wit just my phone or if other epics are having it. Here is what I was doing so please follow these steps:
1. Open the camera with the side button.
2. Take a picture
3. Go to the picture viewer from the button on the bottom right in the camera app.
4. Choose the "Share" option when viewing the picture and select Gmail
5. I added 1 recipient, a subject, and then when I went to the body of the email to type the phone became completely unusable.
Swype couldn't type and when I tried to hit back or home it just sat there for over a min. Finally, I powered the phone off and rebooted. When I went back in to gmail it became slow again and I just left it for a while. Now it seems to be ok, but I have no idea what happened. The one thing I did notice was that when I chose Share and got into gmail the sync icon came on the taskbar.
Thanks in advance for helping out with this.
unable to duplicate, sir
I had the same issue. It seems like launching the camera app from the side button temp locks up touchwiz. I can't get back to home screen.

This happened to me also when I tried to send a picture I just took via Handcent SMS.
I just had this issue last night. I took about 5 picture I emailed 2 of them. I don't rememberif it froze up right after I sent the email or not but I noticed it when I tried to take another picture. I couldn't take it, I noticed a lock icon on the top of the screen. I couldn't exit the camera app. I shut down the phone using the powe button. The phone ran really slow for awhile, after the boot. Then started running normal. Possible bug I think.

I had the same problem when i went out side and took a picture using the camera button and then tried to send it via gmail to another email address I have. When I clicked send via gmail, my whole phone froze up and I have not yet received the email to my other account with the picture attached.
no duplication but
I was not able to duplicate the issue following your steps...but I did have the phone lock up on me once while in camera mode. The image moved as I moved the phone around, but I could not interact with the phone in any other way. I had to power the device down completely. Don't remember if I was able to use the power button or if i had to remove the battery.
I just updated from rooted stock MDL to rooted stock MF9 this week. Everything is running great. But I noticed one difference in the stock Gallery app I'm not happy about. In MDL, when I brought up the gallery app from the camera app (by touching the pictures in the upper left corner of the camera app), I would have a trash can in the title bar so I could do an immediate delete. Now I have what looks like the AllShare icon, the third one from the right:
View attachment 2221916
The new button seems to do nothing. Gives me a list of devices that I can attach to, but only lists "device". Does anyone else see this behavior? And, more importantly, can someone tell me how to get the trash can/delete button back?

Yeah not sure why they did that either. You can hit settings button and delete to delete it. Or you can tap it to show the film strip at the bottom and then long press on the picture to get the delete icon, but only for that instance. In short, although I haven't look into it myself, there doesn't appear to be a quick way of adding the button so settings and delete is the way to go.
Yea I wish they would put the allshare in the settings instead of the trash button.
Delete button is there in landscape view.

Yep, if you go straight to the stock Gallery app, it is there. But if you go it view the pictures while in the camera mode, as I described above, it does not show up. You have to go into the menu button routine to delete it. I'm not sure if that's actually the gallery app or not. I guess not since the behavior is slightly different.
I discovered these merely by accident and never knew about them before so others may find them useful too!
1. Press the multitasking button (square) to see your thumbnails of running apps. Now tap and hold on anyone of them to get straight to the app info page where you can do things like alter the notifications, check the storage and battery use etc .
2. Using the keyboard with word prediction, you are given a list of words to choose from right above the keyboard. If there is a word you don't like, don't use, spelled incorrectly or accidentally added to the custom dictionary, you can stop it from appearing again. Just tap and hold on the word you want to remove from the custom dictionary and a pop up window will show - confirming your decision.
Hope these help.

Ok , lets take 2 gestures
Open gallery you will find on top 2 tabs one is album and other is photos tab on photos you will find photos classfied according to date
Then if you slide down there with your finger you will enter to camera.
Another one in camera if you slide up you enter gallery.
Try.
Also in the Gallery app, go to Photos tab and you will see 4 columns of photos. Do a reverse pinch to zoom gesture and you will now see tiny thumbnails in 9 columns. Tap and hold one one of these super tiny thumbnails and you will see a small zoomed image of it and you can drag your finger all over the screen (maintaining pressure) to see more zoomed images as your finger passes over them.
Finally when viewing an image full screen, reverse pinch to zoom to get to horizontal scroll mode to quickly navigate to other photos.
