Ok so there are alot of threads popping up asking how to root and other such things, but seems to be no thread on how to root .253 FW.
So here is is:
If you haven't upgraded to .253, DON'T, just proceed to step 2 if you are .434 or lower. If you are rooted and have custom recovery working, jump to step 4.
1. You MUST downgrade back to .434 FW. Do this with flashtool, shadowboy has done up a nice guide on using flashtool here
HOT TIP: Like suggested in the guide, untick data and cache so you keep all you data intact. Make sure you don't do any wipes later on either (unless you feel super compelled to wipe cache... )
2. Now that you are on .434 firmware, root it
3. Install dual recovery to get CWM and TWRP working (using dual recovery should avoid potential problems)
4. Now that you have working recovery, flash one of the available pre-rooted .zips of .253 firmware from the Xperia Z android development forum, here are some;
[ROM] Stock 10.1.1.A.1.253 CWM/TWRP ZIP. (v4 fixed root) LB/UB by wawyed
[ROM][Z][LOCKED,UNLOCKED][253] eXistenZ [Black Edition] | V2 | [16/05] [Full root] by niaboc79 - people seem to be having issues when using this firmware
[STOCK ROM] Update to 10.1.1.A.1.253 Generic [Rooted & XZDualRecovery][LB/UB] by [NUT]
Hopefully you should now be on .253 FW, rooted and still have all your previous data and settings. If you are having any bootloops, you may have to resort to wiping data/factory reset in CWM/TWRP. If apps are force closing, open the settings>applications>all apps>find the apps that is force closing and then select clear data. Hopefully that should fix it
Some questions that have and/or may arise:
Does this affect DRM or Bravia Engine? No, only unlocking your bootloader will affect them
Will this work on locked bootloaders? Yes it works on locked bootloaders
Is there an easier way to root .253? Not yet. Considering how much time and effort it would take to discover an exploit for a quick rooting fix I doubt there would be one soon either. Takes a lot less effort for us to this than it would for a dev to create a new root method.
Does this work on ZL? You tell me. Just don't flash any Z firmwares onto a ZL and check that the pre-rooted .zip you choose supports ZL.

Any chance that these methods might work on a ZL without additional issues?

I flashed back to .434->rooted->Flashed dual recovery->went to CWM and flashed "[ROM][Z][LOCKED,UNLOCKED][253] eXistenZ [Black Edition] | V2 | [16/05] [Full root] by niaboc79" But I lost my root..
From .434 fw after root then I use this [ROM] Stock 10.1.1.A.1.253 CWM/TWRP ZIP. (v4 fixed root) LB/UB by wawyed without using XZDualRecovery, it works well on me..
you don't mention it, but is it for unlocked bootloader only? (I guess not but there's no harming to ask)
No, also unlocked
So what about loosing DRM Keys and Bavaria?

Actually I think that was unlocked..first of all I update my phone thru pc companion for the new fw.253
Then I can't root it. I try flash back the .434 and root it again with stock Roms and cwm recovery shown at YouTube.
Secondly,I flash the .235 fw and install the flash.235 zip through recovery..that's simple..
so much things guys...
HELP!!! Bricked my Xperia ZL C6506 trying this!!

I started the above process and was flashing back to fw .234 so that I could get to a rooted .235 fw. I used Flashtool to flash an unassigned f/w for the UK c6503. Didn't think it mattered which one I chose as it was going to be temporary anyway. The flash seemed to go through according to the Flashtool log but now my ZL is totally bricked!! I just have a black screen. It won't power on. There's no indicator light. It's completely dead. During the process of flashing back to the .234 firmware with Flashtool, I unplugged as instructed. Tried to power on. I felt a vibration like it was powering on and waited and waited and waited:crying::crying:. 2 hours later still nothing but a brick. I tried using SUS to recover but that didn't work. I tried the battery reset. Nothing. Suggestions anyone? Again, the Flashtool Log said all was well. Yet, I have a brick. :crying::crying:
This is the firmware I flashed: UK Stock .434 http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2221475
I'm not sure zl fw is the same as Xperia z..coz maybe different fw and cause your phone bricked?

Do you still have the super user app? If so open that, and then go to update binaries. Hopefully that should work :fingers-crossed:. Other than that I'm not sure why it wouldn't work.

This isn't unlocking the bootloader and will not affect DRM key or Bravia Enginge. Only unlocking your bootloader will wipe that

That will only depend on the ROM you flash. All the ones I posted in the OP will work on both unlocked and locked devices according the the creator of said roms

Can you still get into flash mode (powered off, hold volume down and plug in USB to PC)?
Try out this thread for a guide on disaster recovery, hopefully that will help you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2229250

It's .350 firmware, but a) could save you phone b) is rootable anyway so you'd be at step 2 if you wanted to retry. I don't think that it would work though. I just did a quick look at the pre rooted .253 roms and can't see any that say they work for ZL. I'd recommend waiting for KA08 xperia revolution. Normally it supports ZL

Thanks to the battery reset button on the ZL and Sony Update Service I was able to get it functioning again. My only option was a full factory reset at that point So, I did it. At least I learned a couple of things. I eventually got back on a .434 stock ROM and rerooted and put everything back in order. That was with a few new twists and turns along the way in which I had to resort to Flashtool. 14 hours later I am leaving well-enough alone. There seems to be some confusion, (at least there was on my part) about ROMS for the Xperia Z being able to work for the Xperia ZL too. Well, I learned the hard way. They are NOT interchangeable; though some might have you believe that they are The battery reset button on the Xperia ZL is really handy for getting out of boot loops. I also learned what a wonderful tool Flash Tool is. No pun intended. It saved me when I thought I had bricked the phone for good. Long Live my Xperia ZL C6506. Peace.

I had the same problem with that ROM. After flashing it something about it destroys your recovery. I tried it with CWM and XZR recovery. Same thing. The ROM overall seemed flawed. There was something wonky going on with the accelerometer too. Also features listed in the description of the ROM just were not there once flashed on my device. I gave up on it. As it stands it is a waste of time. Needs more work.
ok I've followed everything and now I'm on .235 with root..there's only a problem. When I've done the downgrade I've installet .350 instead of .434. Now, even if I'm on .235 I have a notification about a new upgrade (.434). Since I have the latest version, how can I remove that bodering notification? thank you for you attention
If u r on 235 Ur on an older version. The latest is 253.

Do everything like in the guide but then when downloading any of the 253 Roms download the zip not the ftf file directly to Ur phone go in recovery and flash the zip because someone how when downloading to Ur PC and then transferring it to the phone will not let u flash via recovery. I had the same issue. Just download zip to phone directly. Then flash from recovery I use cwm to flash.

Just flashed this via flashtool, and now I have lollipop, and I am using Sky Go again

Thanks. I made prerooted zip with PRFCreator. Works like a charm.
by flashing, does it wipe the data? i.e. apps and music
Why do you first have to install a stock ftf? Why not install prerooted right away.
Update : I did not read properly. so it seems one time flashing is the case .

No, if You uncheck wiping in Flashtool of course.
So, just so I understand, I will end up with a Sony Z3 Compact Tablet with 5.02 LP, rooted, but with no access to recovery?
That explains my confusion then - I kept getting recovery partition errors in Flashify.

BTW. To OP - please add link to RICDefeat from SGP621 thread (mounting /system r/w).
Please help me understand:
- PRFcreator will create a flashable.zip.
- the flashable.zip is a .zip and not a signed .tft; one must flash through recovery, not flashtool.
this is where I get really lost:
- In order to install any recovery (TWRP, Clock, etc), the device must be unlocked, since you cannot install recovery on locked Xperia devices (right?).
- The only way to unlock the device is to request the unlock code from Sony which voids the DRM keys, etc.
Please help me figure this out, since I want to root my SGP611, but I don't want to lose my DRM keys.

You may want to root your device first and backup your DRM keys with giefroot and BackupTA.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...t-rooting-sgp611-giefroot-bootloader-t3017314
Thanks for your reply. Just to clarify; I will generate a .zip file with PFRCreator that can only be flashed in recovery, correct?
Forgive the noobness: can I flash a .zip file with Flashtool?
Before i had the 4.4.4 running, rooted with the giefroot-method and i also did a ta-backup.
Now i upgraded it using the mentioned way and i do still have root - but now i cant get PS4-Remoteplay to work again.
I get a errorcode which is known to say: You rooted your device and the drm-keys are gone (88001003).
so i restored my 4.4.4 ta-backup again - but it still doesnt work.
Also the proprietary Sony-Updateprog for their pre-installed xperia software is gone.
any ideas how to fix this ?
You created the backup BEFORE opening the bootloader?
Have restored the backup after getting root on the stock firmware?
You must enter the special menu contact ( *#*#7378423#*#* , service tests, security ) , all keys should be ok
I read that some have had this error (withremote play) simply by having SuperSU or superuser installed
Edit: I tried to uninstall SuperSU from the app itself (option cleaning to reinstall after from google play) and now to open remote play does not give the error 88001003. Apparently sony detects if you have the app installed
busybox
I had the stock kitkat rom, which I rooted prior to installing a prerooted lollipop rom.
I still have root access, but I do not have busybox installed and can't seem to install it.
I get the same error message using "busybox installer" and using Stephen (Stericson's) Busybox.
Any suggestions?
You may have forgotten to install ricdefeat (download SGP621-RICDefeat.zip , unzip, run install.bat)
system r/w?

Hey guys,
I jumped through several threads here until i found all steps needed to get my Z1 compact D5503 from my rooted KitKat 14.4.A.0.108 to a rooted 14.5.A.0.270,
[paranoia] without the need to install a firmware that someone manipulated for evil purposes[/paranoia]
In the end it was quite easy. I documented the steps - mostly for myself - and maybe someone can benefit from that.
No warranty, that it works the same flawless way for you or for any other Xperia model than Z1 compact D5503 (though it should...).
So just proceed with the steps if you know about the possible risks of killing your phone
If you find any mistakes please drop me a line...
For a cleaned up version go here - thanks
This brings your Z1 compact D5503 from a rooted 14.5.A.0.108 to a rooted 14.5.A.0.270 without any dataloss
User @codified also successfully updated a 14.4.A.0.157 with these steps (see here)
Just upgraded to 14.6.A.0.368 from 14.5.A.0.270 with these steps. Works like charm. And @JarrB reports success on upgrading from 14.4.A.0.157 to 14.6.A.0.368
Pre-requs:
- MS Windows - sorry, I don't do linuxes
- Xperia (Z1 compact) device stock(?) KitKat rooted (Newroot worked just fine without unlocking the boot loader )
- some custom recovery, the fancy dual recovery works just fine, install from rooted kitkat (dual recovery from http://nut.xperia-files.com/) - the installer.zip! not the flashable.zip
Tools needed:
- FlashTool: http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
- XPeriFirm: http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...xperifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142 ahh no longer needed as separate download, as it's integrated in FlashTool now
- PRFCreator: http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/tool-prfcreator-easily-create-pre-t2859904
Part 1: get a FTF file of the desired firmware
See also: http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/08/1...re-files-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool-guide/
UPDATED THIS PART - thanks to user codified
Open FlashTool and start XperiFirm (XF-button)
Download .270 (or .283/.368 if available) firmware with XperiFirm with auto-unpack (I chose to use the same carrier branded version that .108 was - USE Generic LAM for an unbranded version)
Have two cups of coffee - or tea if you prefer that
The .ftf is now in your .flashtool\firmwares subfolder
Original steps
Open FlashTool and start XperiFirm (XF-button)
Download .270 firmware with XperiFirm () with auto-unpack (I chose to use the same carrier branded version that .108 was)
Use FlashTool Bundle->Create
Select unpacked firmware path
Select Device From list
Add your branding info: Vodafone DE
add firmware version: 14.5.A.0.270
add all but the .ta files to the right listview
DELETE the fwinfo.xml in unpacked firmware folder THIS SEEMS TO BE ESSENTIAL - didn't dare to keep it
create
done. --> ftf file is in configured user home: C:\Users\USERNAME\.flashTool
Part 2: get your pre-rooted ftf file
Download latest SuperSU: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu or the also as well/better working reported beta 2.49
Open PRFCreator
add D5503_14.5.A.0.270_Vodafone DE.ftf the .tft file you just created in part 1 as ftf file
add UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip as supersu zip
not needed, but also not wrong: add Z1C-lockeddualrecovery2.8.21-RELEASE.flashable.zip as recovery (dual recovery from http://nut.xperia-files.com/)
check all checkboxes, but the "sign zip"
maybe add extra zip
create
done. --> find flashable-prerooted.zip in PRFCreator folder
Part 3: flash your zip
nandroid-backup your phone
have 3 big cups of coffee - please, no tea at this step
get really nervous
wipe dalvik and cache only to get a better feeling
try dirty flash the new firmware with the pre-rooted zip via Recovery, not using Flashtool (OTA is also applied dirty, isn't it?)
whoa, flashing was fast
wipe dalvik and cache again. Could help prevent the unpredicted... could it?
AAAAHHH! booting takes so looohoooooong
Yeah! 386 Apps getting optimized...
looks good
hu? NFC firware update? OK. Go on.
Update for Google play services? YES. Go on.
done. --> be a happy Z1-compact-with-rooted-Android-5.0.2-user
totally optional part 4: Xposed
Now go on and install Xposed for Lollipop v69+ and hope for the best
rubbish! forget it for now, as it is bootlooping :/
done. --> still be a happy Z1-compact-with-rooted-Android-5.0.2-user with Xposed
regards!
done exactly this... rocking LP now
good to read, ltcdata! Happy I could provide sth. useful
While it optimizes the 327 apps in my case, I am wondering at what stage of the process does the firmware get rooted? Or is what is downloaded by Xperifirm already rooted? Very good guide BTW. Seems to go okay as long as you read everything carefully and in the right order. Thanks.
@nagusia thanks for liking my very first guide
Basically the root magic happens in part2 no 8 (pressing the create button in PRFCreator ):
PRFCreator unpacks the unrooted original stock fimrware that XPeriFirm downloaded and stuffs it into a new archive together with SuperSu and the other ZIPs you maybe added.
Code for that can be review in Job.cs at the projects GitHub repo: github.com/dosomder/PRFCreator (I'm still not allow to post outside-links here).
Pretty simple in the end...
I had a problem with charging reaching 89% and then the led randomly blinking. I did a restore to KitKat and there wasn't a problem. Then I thought I'd try flashing another of the DE generic pre-rooted roms posted on this forum. Here is where my problems started. It would get a upgrading - starting apps and then reboot. I tried making my own DE customized rom and the same problem. Then I went back to my orginal UK customized rom and ..... same problem. Finally did a factory reset in recovery and now it seems all good. I don't don't if I still have the charging issue yet. I have a theory that a dirty flash is OK the firs time, but a clean flash or factory reset after subsequent flashes may be necessary.
Dirty flashed from .242 to .270, without losing data. Only had to re-flash the Xposed alpha 4 zip (xposed-sdk21-arm-20150430.zip). It probably saves more time to just add this zip during part 2, step 7...
Thanks a lot for the guide.
Sweet guide dude. but I had trouble finding my region's KitKat firmware and downloading then rooting again seems like so much of a hassle so I did it the dirty way. Beware that this is very RISKY! I first downloaded Kingroot and rooted my device successfully, then installed NUT Recovery Installer version and installed TWRP via PC, then try to remove Kingroot using this guide. Thereafter, I followed your guide sans the flash KitKat step. And it works, Bootloader is still Unlocked. Thanks a lot dude!

The method is not at all risky, as long as You use the proper files!
Also, many people don't prefer using Kingroot as it is said that it shares Your phone information (like IMEI number) to some servers.
Hopefully You meant locked bootloader in last sentence!

Actually by risky, I meant that part, you'll never know what Kingroot does, lol. Oh right, I meant the bootloader stays locked.
I already have updated to .270 via sony companion. Can I follow these same steps and replace current .270 with rooted .270?
@jooxxo
No, you need a custom recovery (root) to flash the resulting .zip file.

No, but You can do this.
ok... well I took a nandroid backup of my kitkat (rooted & recovery obviously) before updating to .270 lollipop. If I restore that backup, will it restore recovery as well?
edit: I just dont want to lose all my apps & settings.
Any way to root if 5.0 is already on my phone?
Locked bootloader.

If You restore Your KitKat nandroid over backup (assuming the backup consists of system and data partitions), then it will cause You problems. The easiest way to keep Your apps and data is backing up them with an app since You are rooted, and then restoring them using the same app to restore apps and data on Lollipop. Don't use the Sony backup app, KitKat backups don't work on Lollipop. ALso to get a recovery after Lollipop, just simply install the XDualZRecovery.

from xperiablog net:
Xperia Z1 Compact sees new firmware (14.5.A.0.283) for carriers in Austria and Germany
by XB on 16/06/2015
in FIRMWARE, XPERIA Z1
Xperia Z1 Compact. A new firmware update with build number 14.5.A.0.283 has been released for the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact (D5503). The update has so far only been released for T-Mobile Austria and Telekom.de in Germany. However, users on these carriers were still rocking Android KitKat (14.4.A.0.157), so this update brings them a first taste of Android Lollipop. It is unclear whether this ‘283’ firmware will see a global release, the same build number has also been certified for the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra, although those updates are not live right now.
Thanks for the info, kalaja Much appreciated.

Oh dear, after years of flashing different roms on different devices I seem to have finally screwed up on this one. My mistake was to flash your pre-rooted 5.1.1 stock rom for SGP321 on my SGP311 - the result not surprisingly was a bootloop. I managed to flash the original stock rom - root it using DoomLord's method and install TWRP recovery. However, when I restore the recovery-made backup of the device's state previous to flashing (pre-rooted 5.0.2. stock rom), apparently successfully, I get a boot loop. I've been through this process of downgrading, rooting, installing recovery numerous times in order to install the correct SGP311 5.1.1 pre-rooted rom, the prerooted 5.0.2 rom which was working before, different versions of TWRP recovery including abZ-lockeddualrecovery2.8.21_5.1.1-FIX, abZ-lockeddualrecovery2.8.21, and abZ-lockeddualrecovery2.8.20, all to no avail. I've also tried complete system wipes in order to remove all traces of the SGP 321 rom but nothing seems to work. I have been able to recover a back-up of a rooted Kitkat stock rom from before installing 5.0.2. There seems to be a problem with Lollipop and the TWRP recovery (and yes I've tried the fixed versions). Any ideas? Should I be using Philz recovery to install the zip instead of TWRP? That's the only thing I haven't tried.

Flash stock 5.0.2 ROM with flashtool, root it with kingroot, install recovery 2.8.21 official. Enter TWRP and restore your 5.0.2 backup. Restoring LP backups on earlier firmwares (like 4.4.4 or even 4.3) have some issues and may lead to bootloop.
hi
i`ve tabZ with root running 4.3. to update to 5.1.1 can i directly flash this or i have to follow a special procedure?

Many thanks Rootk1t - I followed your instructions and although I had some problems with kingroot (PC version didn't work) I was able to restore my 5.0.2 backup. I then flashed the pre-rooted McBane87's 5.1.1 ROM and this time there were no boot loop problems (it helps if you flash the right ROM, of course). All an interesting learning experience - sometimes you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs.

If you have a recovery like TWRP or CWM installed, then yes you can directly flash, because it will wipe your hole System-Partition anyway. The other thing is your Data-Partion. You can try to leave it like it is and hope lollipop can deal with it. But keep in mind that this can cause error and also bootloops, which would not appear if you install the ROM in a clean way.
So the "Clean_Way" is:
1. Flash Zip via CWM or TWRP
2. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
3. wipe data
If you want try unclean, then skip step 3.

By my experience upgrading to LP without /data/ wipes go without issues mainly (official pc-companion rewrites only /system/ during upgrade, and doesn't touch /data/ so nothing should break here).
But downgrading from LP to KK with /data/ from LP will give some troubles.

ok then if i understood correctly i can just download this rom from the link and installed it (i have recovery mounted) and i`ll move directly from my actual 4.3 rooted to 5.1.1 rooted.
will during the process all my data in my microsd vards be deleted?

Yes, you can upgrade from 4.3. I recommend flashing through TWRP recovery. Place PreRooted_SGP311_10.7.A.0.222_VMo_DE.zip to external microSD, enter recovery, do Wipe cache/dalvik cache/System and install it.
If you don't wipe it manually or by mistake your data on microSD will be untouched. But making backup of everything you need before, is a good thing either
thanks for your reply, how do you find the tablet Z with Lollipo 5.1.1 happy with it?

Yep, i upgraded. It's nice in performance. I had the latest version of recovery (i was upgrading from 5.0.2). But you try with your existing version or you can update it via flashable.zip
Thx McBane87,,
the rom works great and was easy to install. root ok and original xposed-framework do a good job in this rom. :good:
For my convenience, I made a pre-rooted flashable zip to install the stock Sony Lollipop 5.1.1 Customized US FTF to my C6906.
The zip was built using PRFCreator v1.0, SuperSU-v2.46, and XZDualRecovery v2.8.21 based on the C6906_14.6.A.0.368_1276-7484_R2D FTF downloaded via XperiFirm.
Honestly, I have no idea if the locked version of XZDR will work the same on unlocked bootloaders. Since SuperSU and XZDR are both flashed as well, /system should be rw mountable.
Figured I could throw it up here for other folks to play with. It works perfectly from a clean flash, confirmed by a few different people. Based on some other problems people have been having with the update, I recommend doing a clean flash, but YMMV.
I am not responsible if you don't know what to do with this, use it incorrectly, or somehow otherwise make your life worse after reading this post.

I didn't have any luck with an ftf file I tried yesterday with SuperSU and XZDR (not yours though one I prepared myself). I tried again today with an FTF I downloaded using the flashtool and just put supersu on it, and that worked.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/general/ftf-xperia-z1-c6906-5-1-1-stagefright-t3202137 was the one I downloaded from XDA and modified with superSU and XZDR. My device did not boot after I tried to flash that zip.
Today I downloaded the ftf directly using flashtool, the size was different than the one I downloaded from the forum. I added only supersu and this time the flashing it worked..

Ah, yeah, I was honestly a bit suspicious of that post, but maybe it's fine and your mods broke it? Dunno. The FTF via flashtool is what I built with, so it sounds like my flashable zip should work just fine. Still haven't had a chance to try, busy work day...

FYI... I realized that the FTF MD5 is not very reliable. For example, if you download the exact same firmware twice in a row on the same computer, one right after another, each FTF will have different MD5s. The reason is because XperiFirm downloads individual pieces of the FTF, which are then decrypted, and then packed into an FTF by flashtool. There must be some unique date/time stamps or something that get put in since the MD5 is different.

You have 2 options - as this happened to me too but with a different pre-rooted 5.1.1. source:
1. Downgrade to Kitkat 4.4.4, root it, then put a recovery to it, then give 5.1.1 upgrade another shot.
2. Downgrade to Lollipop 5.0.2, root it using Kingroot (which is very easy), [OPTIONAL] change Kingroot with SuperSU, then put a recovery to it, then give 5.1.1 upgrade another shot.
As for me, when my 1st attempt to upgrade to a pre-rooted 5.1.1 ROM failed, I did #2.

Did you do a dirty flash or a clean flash? This worked flawlessly as a clean flash.
I think the only way you could have ended up with the stock recovery is if you interrupted the flash somehow. Otherwise, SuperSU and XZDR are flashed right after the stock ROM to replace the recovery.
Like @Deathschythe33 said, you have a couple ways to go. Neither has a particular advantage over the other.
Thanks for the fast response fellas, I used flashtool and a stock 5.1.1 ftf and all is well
works perfectly

I am not responsible for any failure, if you follow the steps everything will be fine.
Before we start we must have:
- Do not be afraid of losing warranty.
- At least 70% of charge.
- The Phone everytime Pluged.
- Have a Stock ROM.
Lets started!
1.- You must have a previous version of the Stock Lollipop ( 5.0.2 )
2.- Root that Ver. with KingROOT and then Remplace it with SuperSU.
3.- Once you got you Root Access and the SuperSU install the XZDualRecovery
4.- Now Download the FTF this POST (Thanks @xasbo) and Copy it in your SDCARD.
5.- Save your Data, Photos, etc. and Restart the Phone.
6.- Run your Recovery, then look for Wipe > Advanced Wipe and then we going to Check: Davik Cache, System, Cache, Data, Internal Storage, Then Swipe to Wipe.
7.- When the Wipe finish, we going to go to Install, where said "Select Zip to Install" we going to select "External SDCARD" and search the C6906_14.6.A.0.368_1276-7484_R2D_flashable-prerooted.zip previously downloaded, then, Swipe to Confirm Flash.
8.- When the Flash end, you MUST wipe the Davik Cache to prevent Bootloops, then Go to Reboot > System.
9.- At the very first start of your phone after the flash, if You pass the Sony Logo and the Android Logo everything is going fine, when you hit the Purple Waves Screen, It took its time to load (Pretty Much Time), DO NOT PANIC, commonly take pretty much time to enter the environment (Just this time).
10.- Enjoy Your Lollipop 5.1.1 Rooted + The XZDualRecovery courtesy of @xasbo

@Siddharth Mahendran You should have a Recovery installed on your phone before flashing a Pre-Rooted firmware...
Use Xperia [Nut]'s Dual recovery installer for Xperia Z1: http://nut.xperia-files.com/?ql=162303ad4b67ec4f7c00159b1de0e18807279c4a
If the Procedure hasn't changed(Becoz its been long since I used it), It should have .bat file or some kind of command line script. Have USB debugging and unknown sources enabled on your device. Connect your phone to ur PC and execute the bat file. It should search for the device and it will install the Dual Recovery.
Then, Copy the pre-rooted firmware that you downloaded from here into your phone. Reboot your phone, while booting the notification LED will light up, and then press Volume Down/Up button, based on the recovery you want. Then, wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache using the option like wipe/format based on the recovery you are using. Then, Choose install->search for the Pre-rooted Firmware you copied, select it and Confirm installation. Once Completed, Reboot device.
Remember That, First boot will take a long time, be patient...
Backup all data before, trying anything on XDA!!!!
I am not responsible, if you do anything wrong or something went wrong in the Procedure!!!

Just use the latest Flashtool, it should solve all the problems with the fsc script... To recover your device from softbrick, don't exclude anything, make sure all wipes are checked and you are good to go. hope that helps.

Xposed works with .216 firmware. Running it myself.
Have you downloaded the correct 2 files for running xposed on lollipop?

I think the system isn't getting mounted as rw, and since xposed installer writes to system, it is failing to install. Kindly tell me how to mount system as rw since even after deodexing it isn't getting mounted.
