Unable to Mount SD - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I've come from Desire S which is a little different from this one when it come to flashing a roms it seems.
I'm unable to mount my sd card in recovery after a full wipe to put the zip onto it, I can do side load and have my custom rom on now but needless to say when in recovery i like to put my zips there and now cant.
I've noticed I don't have a 4EXT folder on my sd either if that means anything.
Help

What recovery are you using. You won't see a 4ext folder because there is no 4ext recovery for Nexus 4

You can't.
The nexus 4 doesn't use ums storage.
It uses mtp which can't be mounted in recovery.
You can always use adb with
Adb push ROM.zip /sdcard

Cannot access SDCard in CWR

Hi,
I recently installed Clockworkmod-Recovery on my TF101G - but for some reason I cannot access my sdcard. When I boot into recovery it says, that /sdcard as well as /external/sdcard cannot be found.
I have CWR 6.0.1.3 installed via ROM Manager.
How can I make a backup of my rom? I would also assume I won't be able to install a new ROM either.

You can backup your rom into your internal storage. As an alternative try twrp 2.3.2.3 recovery which is more user friendly.

Here is why it wont work: [NOTICE] Don't use ROM Manager! **New to the Transformer? READ**
I would recommend using the PERI tool by Thing O Doom to install a working copy of CWM.
Go to mount storage and select mount sdcard
AW: Cannot access SDCard in CWR
Mount sdcard is not an available option. I can only mount system, data and cache.

Did you re-install CWM and NOT use ROM Manager?
AW: Cannot access SDCard in CWR
Not yet. I rooted my transformer using the 1-click guide and used ROM manager to install CWR. Next I wanted to try to install CWR from my PC using the guide I used for rooting. (I cannot access my PC currently, so I'll have to try this next week, when I'm back at home.)

Please see the link I posted about ROM Manager and the TF101, it will explain your issue.
Until you re-install CWM using another method that is proven to work, your issue will not be solved.

[Q] Question about nexus 10 factory reset and virtual SD card.

I was wondering... If you do a factory reset in cwm, will it remove the contents of the virtual SD card? I would hope it wouldn't, but want to make sure.
Also wondering if it would erase the contents of the cwm backup folder, since that's been separated out now.

No if you do a factory reset in cwm it wipes only the /data and cache partitions so you can then flash a rom which overwrites /system, so everything but /sdcard gets wiped.
And what about the cwm folder? I haven't heard of it changing.
It's always been /sdcard/clockworkmod/

With the nexus 10, the clockwork mod backup folder is in /mint/shell/emulated/clockworkmod
Thanks for the heads up, I appreciate it.

weird, I went to find my clockworkmod folder and it's not in my sdcard. =O
I also can't find "/mint/" maybe you meant /mnt? but even then it's still not there. I did a nandroid backup, but I cannot find the folder.
Mistype, /mnt/
I know that alot of apps can't see that directory, thats "by design" from what i've seen... i'm using ES File Manager, have it set to root permissions, and have it set to up to root, and i'm able to see it there.

Have you tried flashing all the stock images? Try running the sh or bat file in the extracted directory.

[Q] CWM storage mounting

Hey guys,
In CWM there is an option in saying mount storage. But when i select that the phone wont show up in my PC as it used to in my old phone(Galaxy S). Why is that? How to access folders while in CWM recovery mode?
Thanks
Maybe there are some missing drivers?
You could use adb to access the folders, it should even work when the normal MSC mode, mounting in cwm, is not working

I have reinstalled the drivers but still not working. By the way, Adb is working.

Just use MTP and put the rom in the root of the internal sd card
