[APP/Launcher] Apex Launcher Widgets - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good afternoon XDA,
My issue is the following. I love Apex and I love working with it but I have several widgets (including my mails and N7player etc..) and every now and again they resize to way outside the current screen.
Is this a known issue and anyone have any idea how to permanently fix it?
PS: I have found a way to temporarily fix it which is holding tap on the widget so that "remove" / "resize" / "app info" & "share" become visible. When I release the widget takes his pre-defined size again and it's all fine (temporarily that is...)

I admit I don't know the answer but may I suggest you to ask on its thread ?
sent from my Darkside of Nexus 4

Thanks for the reply. I searched all over the Nexus 4 forums and didn't find it so I posted this because it could be some Nexus 4 issue or whatnot.
Noticed that it was in the android where Apex has posted (durr )
I have posted this in their official topic too. See if I get any valuable responses,

It's a very weird workaround apparantly.
1) Change your home screen to 10x10
2) Then place the widgets on there (without resizing). Preferably put em in the top left corner else they won't be counted in the next action.
3) change home screen to 5x4 (or whatever prefered)
4) resize widgets, they now stick.... weird shizzle :/ (well I hope this works, used to be 5times+ per day, if it lasts a day it's "fixed" )

If prefered this topic can be deleted or locked or marked fixed of course.

What is the GUI Skining application you are using that "!STILL!" shows the phone signal icon. Most GUI Skinning apps cover this info up! Please let me know I can't wait, so excited! :shock:
GUI skin
The picture is not a screen capture of hops's XDA but taken from oabsoftware. And you are right, I didn't notice this. We have to ask them what were they using when they took this picture.
yes please do! I see sometime people doctoring the display to make their product look nice but, it really gets a lot of people excited about something that does not exist I have seached long and hard and nothing seems to be able to do it without cover the signal bars :evil: so I thought it might be pocket blinds a new version but they still have the old one out from years ago no update, and it doesn't work. So needless to say my hopes are high here. So keep us posted I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting this 8)

Misplaced scrolling arrows in long popup menus?

Don't know why but popup menus which are long enough to have scrolling arrows have these arrows' graphics very weird.
Top and bottom parts of the popup menu are wider than the middle, which looks quite ugly. Any ideas what may have caused this or even better, how to fix it?
Thanks.

anyone please?
I have the same problem.
Appears when disabling sense and popup menu have long titles.
This problem also have last dutty (Holy grail) custom 6.5 roms for hd.
same problem here!
i also noticed that the problem is gone when selecting another theme (for example rock republic) in the today settings, but then the new scroll sliders are also gone. they are only working with the "htc black" choosen...
i don't remember if this error also occurs with "stock conditions", with no tweaks applied. would be interessting if the problem is gone after a hard-reset. then we have to identify which tweak causes this...
anyone else with this problem?
me too have this problem.. its lame tht a official HTC theme does this..!!

There's obviously something else affecting this since it's only been mentioned by 4 people in 4 months. I think there's a lot more than 4 people that have this phone and use this forum.
What happens if you change to a different theme? Do you still have the same problem?

[FIX] ESPN ScoreCenter - Widget size fix - Workaround

**Note: Mods, if this is in the wrong section ... Please let me know, thanks**
Everyone else ... take a look below:
Hey guys and gals,
So for over a month now, I've been dealing with the recent update to ESPN ScoreCenter. For those who use it (specifically those with HTC Evos, I've seen) have an issue were the application widget is too big. Instead of being a 4x1 size, it takes up 4x2. Despite still only being the 4x1 size, the frame is 4x2. I contacted the support desk about it, and they told me to try re-installing. Hmm, well that didn't work. So I went about trying to fix it myself. I tried editing xmls, changing pngs, nothing was working. So I went back to the drawing board and stumbled upon something. It's better explained below:
1. Install old version 2.1.2
- Download Link
2. Place the widget in the location you'd like it to be.
3. Once your widget is placed, install or update to the new version
- Download Link- Android Market Link
4. After the update is completed, your widget may timeout. Give it a second and it will come back. You'll notice the size hasn't changed.
5. For testing purposes, you can try to add a new widget in an empty space. You should find that it's the 4x2 layout, which we don't want.
Image 1: Old version installed
Image 2: After update to new version
Image 3: Removed original widget, attempted to add widget back (after update)

How To Make HTC One Nearly Full Gesture Based, no root, no tricks, no costs

Just good ol' Android customization and apps, baby:
EDIT: How do I make pictures smaller? Sorry for the giant pics...
Using Swipe Pad (free from Play Store), you can set it up so that it's activated from a gesture from the bottom of the screen (or anywhere else). I have it there so. To activate, I gesture up from the HTC logo (very BBZ10 like). This can be done from anywhere and any app.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then the "Home" portal (a default option of Swipe Pad) can bring you back to the home screen. Then the two portals around it are to put the device to sleep (via an app that's called Screen Off and Lock, also free) so I don't always have to reach up to the power/wake button.
Then the above level of portals are my most frequented apps. I didn't set anything higher but that may yet come. You can add almost anything you want!
It's not only a handy app switcher of sorts, but also one that allows you to set gesture based commands.
Anyway, links to the apps I used are below.
And there you go, a nearly full gesture base HTC One. The only time I have to really reach up to press the power/wake button is to wake the device.
Just thought I'd share! The only obstacle is when the on-screen menu buttons are present. All the more reason for HTC to update the software to rid us of that obnoxious menu bar.

Now if only you can figure out how to turn it on with swipes without rooting

Strange touch related issue with homescreen - LG V20

** I first posted this in Android Q&A, as I'm not sure if this is a device specific problem, but there weren't any answers to be had there - so I'm hoping that somebody here knows how to get rid of this extremely irritating bug. **
I somewhat recently got an LG V20. (H990DS)
Quite soon I became aware of the following issue:
Several times per day, when turning on the screen, either through fingerprint or pattern, the homescreen doesn't respond to touch.
I've activated "show touches" in the developer menu, and it show that the touches are being registered by the screen, but nothing at all happens.
Horrible stuff caught on camera:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
If I first press the home key, then everything works as it should. It's like there's some kind of invisible overlay on the homescreen that intercepts the touches. It's also possible to pull down the status bar while the homescreen is non-responsive. Selecting anything in the notifications resets the homescreen to a working state.
Swiping the notifications up without selecting anything preserves the homescreen in the non-touch-responding state.
Things I've tried:
Factory reset
Rooting/downgrading ROM
Other launchers than stock: Nova, Next Laucher 3D Shell
Checking accessibility settings
Why u do me this horrible thing, Android?
So I'm all out of ideas. I've held off on using this phone as my daily driver because of this horrible nuisance.
I'm hoping that someone here has an idea about what's going on.
