Hello beautiful, sorry for my bad english!
We can write here, comparing ideas and impressions of all, what is the best configuration to protect the battery?
It may seem an obsession, but now it is summer and it often happens that the cells can not just load it because I have an outlet in attack.
So often I stay off her cell phone.
The Nexus S promises, but together with your expertise, I would like to figure out how to stay on the nexus s for as long as possible.
To understand Configuration: os (cyanogen, stock, AOPs, etc. ...), the kernel, governor settings, launcher, widgets, various tricks (NFC disabled) ...
There were?
Can we make the battery last for three days ?!?!?!?!?!!
-------
Let me explain, I have the latest nightly cyanogen, the 88. Off data always when I'm around and I do not use the internet. I do not need the push, so no active sync. The wifi I turn it on only at home or at work, I have WhatsApp, twitter and I uninstalled facebook to try what were saying that facebook consumes battery. I have launcher pro and Gtasks widget for notes in gmail, news and weather widget for news that is updated every 6 hours, if it's on the Internet, and then all program icons. I have installed very few, narrow required.
The kernel is the 1.3.3 universal netarchy signed cfs (the bfs? Is not that I had to use the bfs what do you think?).
This afternoon I used the GPS a few minutes to find an address, then he arrived, I turned off the GPS and data, with the widgets "Power Control" modified cyanogen.
Some short calls since this morning and some short text messages, not even 10. Some web browsing on 3G, but not much.
Well, after all this I can tell you that after only 11hours 18minutes 5seconds the battery is already 42% (97% this morning after recharge).
I'm not coming to pass even 23 hours which is what you do with a simple stock 2.3.4.
What is the sense I'm in the kernel and cyanogen netarchy? Only to change some other small lockscreen?
I need the battery! And I have already explained why.
The other ROM that you have listed does not come from cyanogen?
They are not "pure" cyanogen changed? Implemented? Correct?
Let me know ....
The AOSP where they come from? They are like cyanogen, a family on its own? O derived from cyanogen, too?
Now I remove the cyanogen and try something else.
What do you suck a lot in my phone? WhatsApp? Imagine if gripping always-sync data and as some of you! Not even 10 hours would last.
In the processes running there: Settings - 1 and 0 process services (21MB), WhatsApp - 1 process and 2 services (8.8 Mb), Market - a process and a service (11Mb) Maps - a service process and 1 (5.8 Mb) Google services - 2 processes and one service (15Mb), keyboard Android - a process and a service (8.9 Mb) - TOTAL: 153Mb used and 152 free.
It's right? Do you have it?
I just do not understand where mistake ... help me ...

This is actually quite poetic, in a nonsensical way.
But I can't understand it - could a native speaker please try to "translate"?
why is there a 2nd thread on this? do the mods even ever come here?
Complaining about your phone being HALF dead after 11 hours?! Mine is completely dead after 5! I'm lucky if I even make it that far.

if thats true you need to take it back for a replacement.
3 days of phone use.
Step 1: charge phone to full
Step 2: Set phone down on table
Step 3: Pick it back up 72hrs later

in most cases that would be correct but in reality no phone running android without an extended battery will achieve 3 days. BUT my 4g did go 2 days/8hrs with medium usage.
I can see two days no prob with some average use. You could maybe get 3 days if the screen brightness was at zero, setcpu locked at 500mhz Max and constantly toggle airplane mode when not using it.
What fun is that though.

You seem to have completely missed his point, which is that people who tout their batteries lasting 2 and 3 days acheive this by not really using the phone at all.

i bet with heavy usage i could go about 24hrs. i used my phone alot yesterday and still had great life on a stock battery. i guess everyones phone is different. it also depends on what kernel and rom you use.

Correct. There are so many variables. Some say their battery lasts 7hrs. What we never know is if their homescreen looks like a widget bomb exploded on it, everything set to auto sync every hour and brightness at 100% while they use it like a mini laptop non stop.
At work I get like 5 hours. I use it redicously heavy almost all day.
The two biggest battery killers are tapatalk and web browsing. If that is all you do, yep you will never make it past a day.

I think this is pretty accurate.
Typically, with average use (by my estimation) I get about 22-23 hrs between charges.
Average use is defined by
*Netarchy kernel overclocked to 1.2GHz with SetCPU (screen off profile set to 500MHz)
*2-3 hrs of talk time (with about -85dBm signal on average - or at least that's what it is when the call starts)
*push email for 3 IMAP accounts at 5min check intervals and sending and receiving at least 75-100 emails per day
*push gmail with 60 or so emails per day
*fancy widgets updating location every 30 mins.
*Seesmic twitter widgets on homescreen updating 3 accounts.
*Facebook widget
*locations service always on
*wifi never sleeping
I think that's most of what's running.
Battery life on the NS4G has made me laugh at my Evo's 8hr charge and has actually made me use my phone MORE out of confidence that my battery will last.

I went on a vacation out of the states so I couldn't use my phone. It was charged before I went and I just left it in airplane mode for the whole trip, and occasionally used it for music and a calculator. After about 4 days it went dead, I was surprised it lasted that long.

I'm not sure if you have let the battery die all the way to 0% and then charge it overnight. Do this 4-6 times a month and you will see a huge increase in battery life.

Yeah you should do this only when calibrating the battery which should need to be done very very infrequently it not at all.

Battery is good i would say! i got a back up of an entire day with lil heavy usage (Gaming, Music, Phone Calls, Videos, Whatsapp, Texting, gtalk) and the sleep in XSP is Brilliant! :good:
My device is - bootloader unlocked, rooted and most of the google apps removed (gmail, google+, voice dailer, few others)
Btw this is my third day after getting the device! and i didn't use any app to calibrate!

It's mine. Check mail every hour via EDGE and Tasker.
That seems nice, but without the screen on time screenshots these are useless. Please post screen on time always

I am a noob so can't deal with flashing or changing kernels etc and motochopper doesnot work
Although the hours since charge is important too, screen on time is more important. Why don't you people just mention how much you get in your post? It can't be that hard

hey folks! im thinking of getting this phone, I had xperia S and went to an s3 because of horrible battery life on XS so . . Since this phone seems nice and has quite a big battery (2370mah and a smaller screen compared with my s3 2100 and big amoled screen) do you think it will get me satisfied ? I personally love its design (only missing a decent front camera) so . . is it worth the deal? Thanks in advance

There's an app that keep running in the background, waking up the CPU or data, install wakelock detector to find it.
As for me, normally from 100% to 1% I get 6.5 hours on screen time non stop on 3G.
I heard smaller battery in S3, optimus G goes for more.

Good day everyone. As you'll see, I haven't really made many posts, but I do use XDA a lot to find info about phones, to look up problems and solutions, and getting ROMs/kernels. So thanks a ton to this forum and to everyone who has made a post that has helped me (and thanks to those who have helped others of course).
So, I made this post to share with you guys my settings for getting the best battery life that I have seen so far on my device. The device is rooted, and I am not running a stock kernel or ROM. I always thought that I would stick to a Sense based ROM, as (to me anyways) of all the manufacturer skins, Sense looks by far the best.
But that was until I got my 2nd gen Nexus 7 a little while ago. I absolutely loved vanilla Android so much that I decided to put on a Google Play Edition kernel and ROM onto my One. Now, when doing that, you do lose some features; Infrared and the camera flash being 2 of them (there might be more, but I haven't noticed that).
The ROM I am running is the 4.3 GE by faux123, and the kernel, also by faux123 i believe, is the 007m. Very smooth, absolutely stable (thanks faux123!)
You can find them here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255900
Here are some screenshots to show you how much life I got out of a full charge, and also how much Screen On time I got

Here are some stats of things I did on the phone during this time:
Made/Recieved calls : 10min54sec
Sent/Recieved texts : 7
Sent/Recieved Whatsapp messages : 559
Photos taken : 2
Web pages visited : 64
I also checked some YouTube vids, updated Whatsapp, Tested out a few vids to test out the BubbleUPnP app, and spent some time on Facebook (I feel like this took up roughly 2 hours or so, but I'm honestly not sure).
Now, when I started, I wanted to see how much battery life I can get out of the device, but by keeping the same performance; so NO underclocking, nor did I overclock (I will share all the settings I used in this post).
So, without changing the clock settings, I had a go at doing some undervolting. I finally settled on some settings that were quite a bit under the default numbers, but the performance is still identical to standard (i'm getting the same score in Antutu of roughly 26000 as I did without undervolting), and it is perfectly stable.
The app I used to make the settings is FauxClock (thanks again faux123!).
I made some other changes as well such as switching off ALL syncing etc.
Alright, let's jump into it.
For various settings I used the same settings as recommended by faux123 in the post i linked earlier, so check them out. Also, If I don't mention a particular setting, then that is because I left it as default. These settings are all to be found in the FauxClock app (unless stated otherwise).

Next up was to disable a whole bunch of stuff. These settings are found in the Android settings.
Under WiFi settings, go into the Advanced section. Leave EVERYTHING unchecked except "Wi-Fi optimisation".
Turn off Mobile Data
Change the setting in Mobile Network Settings to only use 2G
Set the display brightness to AUTO
Display sleep in 30 seconds
Under location settings, set "Access my location" to OFF
Under Backup & Reset, set Backup My Data to OFF
Under Accounts settings, turn off ALL syncing
Under Developer Options, switch off all Window Animation and Transitions (set the value to 0)
Next up go to the Play Store, and then go into its settings. Turn off all notifications, and also turn off "Auto update apps".
Ok, you're all set. Hope this will help some of you!

insertcoin rom 4.0.1 ( there's newer versions im just lazy to update since it's not really needed for s-off users ) anyway Rom cleaner with my script , some Xposed mods stock kernel and few other things I can't remember of right now , been setting up this Rom since it got out and battery became better and better.
Anyway I'm mainly getting this high scren time cuz of having zero wakelocks , pretty much only @ WiFi and good reception , as for brightness I'm @ 30/50% most of the time.
When I'm using phone outside with 3/4g on and no WiFi with brightness 50/100% I get around 24 hrs on battery with 6/6:30 up to 7 hrs screen time max , everything is always on , syncs etc.
Oh and this last screen shot was a surprise for me as well , I've pretty much only did this vs my standard usage , forgot to turn on power saver and charged phone from 60% to 100% via pc ... So I'm surprised myself I got almost 5hrs for 50% , usage was the same as always except my average is 3:50/4:10 per 50% I usually get down to 30/35% on battery with around 6 hrs screen time and 30/35hrs on battery , then I get bored and charge the phone.

Will do for next screen shots , rarely do that , anyway my usual daily usage : fb , blink feed , tons of chating via fb / viber , lots of sms texting ( around 200 a day if not more ) sometimes talking , usually for about 30 mins , most of the time @ WiFi , turning irself off @ night , I hate getting gazillion updates from xda and other sync apps , I also have sync for everything that has it , reading on xda few hrs a day 3 I guess , browser , YouTube , reading news uhmmm Skype sometimes but rarely , that'd be all I think.
Oh I also Odex every Rom I use.
Edit :
Found around 1month old screenshots with usage , anyway pretty much the same even today. And can't find other parts of app usage there were 2 more , this is actually 1st time I hit 7 hrs
You can see here I also had high wakelocks of total 41 mins , now on 4.3 I usually don't go above 5/15 mins depends how much on battery , anyway 20hrs on battery usually lead to 5/7 mins. So battery is better now.

ahh that is where we differ, that makes up the majority of my usage!
That would explain a lot then, my browser is up around 50-60%
Well if we turn of all the features, then our smartphone turns in to a dumbphone again. There is no point in that, it costs a fortune so I wont reduce it to a medioker phone.

Well if we turn of all the features, then our smartphone turns in to a dumbphone again. There is no point in that, it costs a fortune so I wont reduce it to a medioker phone.

I'd say 30 mins a day , few days ago used it for about 1:30 anyway ended up with around 4hrs @ 50% , I don't really use hardcore browser when using it , just to find something then read that for 5/10 mins and so on.

Shan it's me again! With regards to being held awake, I'm currently on 15 hours off charge, 60% charge with 2 hours screen on which is quite good for me. My help awake says 45 minutes though, is this bad? Google services has 223 next to it. I've turned off maps locations, contact sync, app store update etc. I only have calender and app data syncing, should I turn off auto back up?

That would explain a lot then, my browser is up around 50-60%

Ahh that could be it , but then again I use viber / fb chat and sms chat a lot if you're not on those then I have higher overall app usage ...unless browser uses more then it should ...but I didn't notice that , do you happen to use adblocker ? Cuz I do that might be the case as well.
Btw could you post some screenshots of your battery , preferably with screen screenshot from gsam , and app usage plz.

I didn't turn off anything except " Google location search " all the syncs are up and running , although I unchecked " backup phone daily " from playstore when setting up phone , as for maps those can be a big time drainer if you don't have them hibernated via greenify ?
As for 45 mins awake in 15 hrs isn't "that" bad , it should be 20 at most but still pretty good , most of the ppl have literally 2+ hrs of wakelocks , lol once I had in 13 hrs on battery 12:40 of wakelocks haha , tho I did end up with 5+ hrs screen time.
Anyway I don't get how do you guys manage to spend 40% of battery to gain only 2 hrs screen time unless you're on 100% brightness or gaming for 30+ a8 for example , anyway could you type me your average daily usage.

Stock Android 4.2.2 without root and with Greenify and Advanced Task Killer.
WiFi, 3G, Data and Sync are enabled.
I usually get only 24 hours on my S4 mini, so basically day + night, so I have to charge every night. I have wfi turned only at home (using Llama app). At midnight I turn off wifi and sync. It turns on at 6:00 in the morning. I have accuweather widget and one IMAP email account (using IMAP PUSH) syncing.
Is it normal that having Wifi turned on consumes so much more battery? It is visible very good in the screenshot and it is the same effect every day. Screen time on the screenshot was only 1h20m. I have brightness set to Auto -3.

simply question have you restarted the device? because android os seems to consumes a lot of power. You also should install wakelock detector from playstore and look what app consumes so much power
Hey all i have a question can you all show me which your screen on time is that you will get usually with the stock battery? Thx to all in this thread who post their stats
Guys I am just curious how much percentage of battery drain you get when the screen is off/idle.
wifi off, data off, sync off, location off.
i got 1% battery drop per hour. is this normal on your galaxy note 4???
my sony z ultra dropped from 100 % to 99 % for 6 hours.
Try disabling unified daemon and if you sont use google books, music etc, disable them.

In application manager, search for it and disable it. Willcor please help us to, so we can get 10h/% while in standby.

Don't find anything lucky, I've always had such stats with any phone I owned in the past 1-2 years. Only Note 3 had 15-20% drain in 8 hours span which was very annoying but got fixed by an update.

hi ,
i attached screenshot for those members who would like to see, if it is possible to get a 9 / 10 hours " standby/overnight "
( this was my test done. i get this result , over and over and its stable with 1 % drainage battery usage 9.5 out of 10 . )
I have no drastic measures in place. I basic get this with all my devices i have !( all rooted stock )
.Just the normal " stuff" , but i like to "tweak " and monitor (my devices ....Note 4, Note 3, Note 8.0 tablet ..etc )
eg .Wifi ..off., bluetooth off ,internet off .I have stable 3 g signal Location...off ( this is a battery drainer)
I have normal apps installed to monitor battery ..Betterbattery stats , Wakelock detector, Battery monitor widget pro and yes i do use Greenify but
to me i get similar "milage " without Greenify (Greenify , just an insurance policy " to force a rogue app from time to time to behave )
Further........
I also have an free app "Battery HD " ( Play store ) i have it set to give me voice read outs every 5%.... ..eg ..95 %..90%..85 %...So if i have an "rogue app " misbehaving,i can catch it intime ,with this apps warning .!
Above is one side of the "coin" to get good battery usage during ........sleep /standby.
The other side of the coin ( for me ) is when you have "on screen " time usage Then you have to "tweak " your device ,according to your basic needs and watch for bad /rogue apps ,that is trying to hog/connect /sync( eg.. to hog the cpu / connect to internet/sync etc etc unnecessary etc...) eg..Auto sync ..only my email( inbox/gmail ) /contacts and weather apps is set , when i switch my data internet on .
Location i enable, as per app needs and swicth it off "
So you have to tweak your device, to get maximum results
!no otherway ( i believe)
I give credit to XDA and its various members, for helping with tips /info that enable me to get good results in "tweaking " my devices !!
good luck

Even Better Way to Safe Battery
You know what is the best way to save battery? just turn off the phone.
What's the point of having any smartphones if u just turn everything off to save battery?
Also on Note 4s there is something called "Ultra Power Saving"....

its ok to turn off wifi and mobile data when not in use. but i agree turning off all necessary apps just to save battery is a big mistake.
