My friend has a Droid Pro and it had CM9 on it when he got it. I am trying to help him get back to a stock sfb. I've been doing a little bit of research and found a work around to get into recovery mode as I wasn't able to do that traditionally. Now I'm in CWM v5.
How do I know which sfb file I want to flash onto it?
Thanks,
PEZ

An sbf file must be flashed through your computer onto the phone through boot loader mode. However I am not familiar with the droid pro sbfs so I don't know where they are.

ok.. you dont need cwm to flash stock rom.. i would suggest to flash some other custom rom via cwm.. stock roms are crap.. still if you like to flash stock.. forum have all the questions already answered.
else reply here.. i'll post a detailed explanation or a link..

Okay, for months now, ive gone through 2 phones and done more bricking then flashing I have done lots and lots of reserach and am getting to the point where i just want to stay stock. Im rooted, and every time i try to flash clockwork through odin i either get a fail, or if i keep trying sometimes it goes through and says pass but it gets stuck on a force start loop and i cant do anything in recovery menu...so i end up fash stock files for telus to return the phone to its new state. I really want to get clockwork on here and try some roms. If anyone could help it would be awesome.
Thanks, Mike.
Really? .... no one out there with telus fascnate that has clockwork.. plz help guys I really wanna run some custom roms

What version of clockwork recovery are you trying to flash with odin?
From what I can tell you should be using the one from the vibrant?
good day.
Okay thank you. I'm at work right now and I will try tonight

On 2.1 I flashed the Vibrant version (using ROM Manager)
From I have read, with the 2.2 update installed you can't flash it (yet).

Help I need a (telus fascinate stock rom !!?!! and some help
well basically , I installed one click lag fix and I hard reseted my phone without removing the the ryan v2 one click lag fix, so i read somewhere to remove the play logo file but i took out another one wich was no the right one , so now i have no galaxy s logo when i boot my phone ,so either I get the logo file or if possible a telus stock rom would be apreciated and maybe a simple guide on how to.
sorry this was my first venture into android stuff
i have Motorola droid 2 on 2.2 rooted with bootstrap recovery, everything was workin fine till i decided to install custom rom, which was unleashed epic 2.5 (by mat) and now everytime i turn on my phone it goes into a loop reboots and never turns on all the way.
i have tried using sbf RSDlite to restore it, tried using linux ubuntu(newk8600 method ty btw) method as well to restore it, none seems to work i keep getting errors whenever i try to do it.
however before i installed the custom rom i did full backup using bootstrap recovery but the only way (that i know) to get in recovery is using bootstrap app, so is there a way i can manually get into bootstrap recovery so i can restore from backup?
please let me know, or if you have different method i'll appreciate your help. thanks in advance.
Which version of the software did you have before you installed epic unleashed, and which SBF did you use?
From what I have heard, Epic Unleashed will "brick" your phone if you try to install it on the 2.3.20 build. Since your phone did get bricked, it's likely that you are running 2.3.20 and not 2.2. You might want to make sure you are using the 2.3.20 SBF to flash your phone, and not the 2.2 SBF (which won't work because the kernel changed between the two)...
What type of errors do you get?
i always have luck getting into clockwork recovery by having my phone plugged in and within the first few seconds taking out my battery forcing it to take along time booting after the M logo and hence putting it into clockwork. I hope this helps
after you get passed the M pull the battery then boot back up it should come up in to recovery
thank you all for your help, however i tried all of these steps already, but i found another way to get it workin, here is the solution to whom got the same problem as mine.
its not letting me post the link for some reason, anyway just search for (Droid 2 Global SBF File (2.4.29) Full and RSDLite ).
just got relased today , big thanks to team Black Hat and MyDroidWorld
hope that helps.
Glad you got it fixed. Let me ask you something though. Before you installed the custom rom, did you wipe data and cache? Not doing so could result in a bootloop.

Sounds like the OP was trying to install a ROM for the original Droid 2 on the Droid 2 Global. It wouldn't have worked, no matter what install steps were used.

It's all good people need to read where they are posting this is in the D2 General section not the D2 Global general section. That's half his problem, he's been looking at ROMs for the original D2 not the device that he currently uses.

And yet you posted in the wrong forum and didn't give us any information to go off (hint, there's a Q&A forum).
So, what did you flash and how, with what options and what messages did you get at all points along the way?
yeah apologies i was in a rush. im rtying to gert it set up and its different from HTC.
i just used the oden and 1 click root. i havent flashed one as of yet because im trying to get CWM bootloader installed on my phone.
so i downloaded the bootloader off the app and flashed it and it said everything was fine. then i tried to reboot into recovery and its just the normal blue samsung bootloader
it said failed installation and it was aborted

Samsung is a bit different from htc, flashed a desire hd of a friend recently and also had to get used to the differences especially in rooting procedure then
The easyiest way to root and get recovery on a samsung galaxy phone is to just flash a custom kernel (e.g. Cf-root) via odin. They come along with cwm already. So actually a lot easier then on a HTC were you have to do two steps
Rom manager doesnt work for me either on galaxy s 2 when it comes to cwm flash.

I had similar "problem" when i came here from HTC I spent good 40 mins by searching XDA on how to get S-OFF untill i gave up and went trough EVERY "how to" thread i could find in SGS2 forums.
After i got everything done, i had good laugh on my self. It's just too easy
BTW i remeber you from Desire Z forums, nice to see you here.

This questions gets asked on a daily basis, flash the cf-root kernel and you'll have your recovery. Look in the dev section for it.
hi people,
i have a SE x10 mini and its flashed with latest naa kernal and CM7mini.
im swapping it for a motorola defy tomorrow and just want some general answers if possible.
i see on the cm7 instructions it says *Flash froyo* then from clockwork install the .zip. ( similar to x10 mini )
but what steps do i need to take once i get the phone?
do i need to root it first then install a custom recovery first? or can i just chuck the CM7.zip on the sd card and flash?
im a little confused as i have only owned this x10 mini and i know how to flash kernals etc to this phone, just confused with the motorola
any help would be appreciated
regards
come on, at least look at the big Q & A threads before burdening others. I saying this to you instead of answering your questin, so that you at least give the matter some attention yourselves.
May the search be with you!
lol,
i have been reading up.
im not sure on this froyo, eclair etc
how would i know what i have when i get it?
will it say froyo in settings?
with the x10mini its all pretty much easy, no need to find what version or anything, just download cm7mini flash naa and flash.
so im a little confused with the defy,
ive been reading up and understand enough,
but i take it the steps i take is
To root the phone
install the 2ins app to install recovery
then flash cm9?
or do i need to use RSD lite to flash the froyo rom first?
reading the faq is pretty straight forward but i havnt seen the phone yet ( played around with it) so im not sure of the version etc.
im in the uk
in settings it provide ur the Android version. 2.2.2 is froyo... but ... that's not the only problem. from were u buy the phone? reseller or from private

ok than ur don't had a problem with the bootloader! it's not that easy as for ur x10mini cause the locked bl in the defy.
in general section is a thread there u find 'custom' sbf files, that u can flash with rsd light. it's the easiest way to get a good ROM on the defy, in only one step. the files are all rooted and with 2nd init. from that point u easy can flash other ROM through CWM, only beware for higher bootloader. ur defy is maximum bl5 I think.

link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1691901
Edit2: and before u ask, we don't can flash custom kernel, only custom ROM.
how do i find out what bl# i have?
will it say in rsd lite?
regards

No, rsdlite cant say ur the bl version,
ur can use the tool u find in that post
and if ur dont speak chinese in that post u have the answer for the cryptic buttons :good:
First of all, what kind of defy will you get?
Defy, Defy+ or Defy Mini?
The steps to install a custom rom are very easy.
1. root your defy
2 install cwm
3. make a nandroid backup with cwm
4. download the Rom you want to install
5. reboot into cwm and install the Rom.
This is a short instruction. For details instruction go to the Defy developments threads. There you find detailed instructions, and how to install custom Roms.

It depends on which rom that you want to install and if you have green or red lense (because of the kernel).
But you will find these infos in the instructions of the rom thread.
"bricked" my Tmobile US defy while working with 2ndinit. I'm sort of noobish I read the instructions and got everything I needed but apparently something went wrong. I beleive I need an SBF file to reset everything. The thing is this forum is old and links are dead everywhere I look. Any help would be welcome. my device was runnin on stock tmobile eclair version 1. I tried a factory reset on stock recovery but no go and I dont have any custom recovery.

If all else fails, flashing an SBF with RSDlite should work; it's the one advantage of having a locked bootloader. Check the all-in-one guide for details, esp. on efuse/CG levels if you want to be able to fully revert to the stock eclair.
The problem at this point will be finding an SBF file, as it appears the droid-developers archive is no longer working...
Yeah. Thanks I already fixed mine.
