So my last Android phone the Samsung Captivate had USB Mass Storage support, and the phone would show up as a drive on Windows Explorer. This Nexus has only MTP and Photo transfer support.
Both seem to show up properly on my computer, however, when I try to transfer an entire folder to my computer (Titanium Backup), it will only transfer the folder and none of the contents. If I try to do a select all, it will only transfer one or two of the backup files in titanium backup. This is very annoying, what am I doing wrong? Is there a way to get USB Mass Storage support?
I also tried mounting it through TWRP recovery but this doesn't work at all.
OK this is not about transferring files like music or photos, I'm want to transfer rome for PSone, gameboy, like .bin or .cue etc.
Kies only allows music, photos and docs.
I tried android file transfer but it can't recognize my device
is there any other way to transfer files?
thanks.
I use WiFi File Transfer without any issues.

Android File Transfer!!
Its very easy and its simply dragging files to and from your computer to your phone internal memory or its sd card!!!
I tried using AirDroid etc, but it takes too much time!!!
I have tried to use Google Drive but it doesn't show any of my files. I would like to sync one drive folder with my nook SD card. Anyone using this successfully?
I also tried FolderSync but couldn't get past the google drive verification screen.
Thanks
Hi
I'm planning to do a factory reset on my i9506, since I've had many problems with it lately.
Problem is, when I connect my phone to my computer to backup/copy files i.e. go to Computer\S IV\Phone\DCIM\Camera
I can only see pictures like .jpg files, but not any of my video .mp4 files.
Another example, looking at my Download folder on my computer it shows 70 files, but browsing the folder with my phone there are actually 334 files.
I've tried connecting as MTP and PTP with no difference.
The files I'm backing up are on the phones internal memory. I don't have an SD card atm because the phone messed it up.
Now I can't do a factory reset untill I've gotten all of my "important" files secured on my computer...
How can I fix this? I really need to reset my phone to possibly get it working normally again.
Use something like Airdroid to transfer the files. I also always have some kind of problems transfering files in any other way.
Hi, I have a galaxy 8+ and i deleted for me very important photos and videos accidentially. So my question: Is there a possibility to undelete and save the files. As I learned that the new transmission protocols used with usb are not able to recognize and read data blocks so that we can transfer it to the PC and to save the files.
Ok then I learned that we could transfer the memory image if the phone has a root. Now I learned that to install or set up a root the internal memory will be formated and the data I would like to save are then lost?
Is there any possibility to retrieve and save deleted data from the galaxy 8+ or .....??
Please Help Andrea!?
Use a deleted file recovery app from play store. I had to one and it worked fine. Don't remember the name but there's several to choose from

Did you have Google photos app and sync on? Or Samsung account sync on?
I personally like dumpster. Check Google play.
But it has to be installed before you can "undelete" files
