Fewer features? It's better than the Nexus 4 in pretty much every aspect tbh. I'm very tempted to sell my Nexus 4 and upgrade to the Nexus S4 so I can own the latest Nexus device

It wont carry the nexus name, youre lucky if you get a "GOOGLE" tag on the back of the device

I would, just because I'll have an SD card slot.

If true and SD slot I'm sold

You obviously are clinging to "my phone is best nuh-uh no way any phone could be better" syndrome atm
- LTE
- Removable battery
- MicroSD storage
- Faster processor
- Better camera
- Bigger screen
- SAMOLED (if you prefer over LCD)
- Hardware buttons (if you prefer this versus software buttons taking up screen space)

I could care less if "nexus" phones get an update 2 days before mine. It's not like I'm 12 years old and get an erection over having the 1st of a software update

Im glad that samsung will sell pure android device(s) but I do not think that they will update the phone because for them Its better if you buy the new one instead of update yours. Maybe one version update and then stop, just for customers cant say that they have lied.

At this point you don't have any real information... simply trying to spread misinformation so you can still have that "my nexus 4 is the best phone ever" feeling.

If it were double the specs I could see double the price of the N4. But its not even close so as far as I'm concerned its a rip off.

You have to remember that the Nexus 4 is massively subsidised by Google. Without it the Nexus 4 would probably retail for $500+.

Get the s4 with contract with att for 199 root the s4 install cyanogen mod BAM Google experience phone... Seriously though developers will make updates for the s4 easier now with the Google s4. That being said, you save more money comparing 649 for 16gb pure Google vs 199 contract s4 root with "pure" google experience

I still have an upgrate at ATT available tho. But i'll likely keep it until the end of year, sell whatever I can get (most likely an Iphone) and then buy the newest "NEXUS" device.

I saw the Nexus Two being an HTC Device, with things like;
4 to 4.3 Inch Super AMOLED Display(Or possibly even Retina?)
1Ghz Dual Core Processor
16GB ROM
1GB RAM
3-5MP Front Facing Camera
5-8MP Back Camera
I recall Google stating that the Nexus One was a phone to revolutionize devices. Thats what it did, when the Nexus One launched it had the largest screen, and the fastest processor in any phone to that date. Where is that with the Nexus Two?!
They needed a story, even if the facts are incorrect.
That cant be the Nexus Two.
I'd rather have a MyTouch 4G.

My thoughts exactly. After one day with an N1, I realized just how nice life was away from any Samsung POSI. 6 months later, not one SINGLE complaint. This thing is perfect, and could only improve with next year's technology (screensize/processer etc) today. A Galaxy S model phone, which was available in July would a sick joke.
Desire HD+Duel Processor+Front Camera=Perfect. But I still like the trackball.
Didn't engadget just say that that is a gizmodo mock up?
IMO, this article is sooo full of crap.

not going to argue with samsung using the best hardware but damn do they love apple's designs or something.
I can't stand that they make the design look like an iphone and touchwiz makes it more like an iphone.
if nexus two looks anything like this, even if it is vanilla android, i'm saving my money for a better looking vanilla android phone.
Can't wait for Nexus Three. lol
I doubt this is real, anyway--a Nexus Two should be, just as the N1 was, ahead of the herd. Certainly not a refresh of an existing model. No way.
Dual-core, Tegra 2 chip, brushed metal unibody, or get the **** out.

T-Mobile jump?

So I'm seriously considering jumping T-Mobile to get on Verizon before July 7.
Tiered plans + at&t merger are persuading me.
BUT I love my Nexus s . Is there a great android device on Verizon that would push this decision over the edge?
Is the switch to Verizon worth it to avoid tiered plans?

BEFORE YOU BUY THE PHOTON (Nexus Slider)...

So, here we all are. Looking for the next big slider phone to move to. The Photon comes along and while some specs are great, overall most people hate the fact that the SIM is locked and that the battery is not removable. Some of us, maybe all, would probably settle for it, because the idea is that another slider will not come for a long period of time. HOWEVER, I just unearthed this article and honestly, I would recommend giving it a month before we all jump ship and buy into the Photon, if that is your plan at least.
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2012/05/01/google-patent-application-hints-at-nexus-slider/
Although this is NOT a confirmation, it is still in the realm of possibility. It is worth waiting for, before we lock ourselves onto the Photon for 2 years.
Any thoughts/comments/info?
There is some truth to Google bringing out a Nexus slider soon. Google hired the G1 designer duo, they also came up with the design for the Xbox360.
NICE!!!!!! I just sprouted a tremendous woody!!!!
Highly doubtful. I wouldn't hold my breathe. The only logical choice right now for keyboard lovers is the photon. Especially since Motorola released something similar to HTCdev to unlock the boot loader.

My thinking on the Q, is will there be development, more to the point, will it get picked up by CM
A Nexus device will get dev support almost by default.
But the Epic taught me to be careful about my choice in phones, as lack of great development can drop a phone from awesome, to dam, wish I could get that mod.
Those who got the Epic on release day, waited for CM acceptance on the Epic, will understand why I'm a bit gun shy about one-off devices
This Epic post brought to you via Tapatalk 2 and CM9

[Q] Is the Nexus 7 worth to buy now?

I am considering buying a nexus 7 16gb, is it worth the 314 AUD price tag? What do you guys think from your experiences? Thanks
Xxx oops! accidentally beamed from my awesome NEXUS S! xxX
Yes ! It is an amazing tablet and the first one born with Android Jelly Bean 4.1. It has a really powerful processor (NVidia Tegra 3 Quad Core (x4) 1.3GHz.). The size is really awesome, you can hold it fine with one hand. It is really smooth and fast. Worth to buy

If you love your Nexus S's Android OS, the Nexus 7 will not disappoint.
You really cannot go wrong with the price. I mean 250$ is dirt cheap. Especially for a Tegra 3 and 1GB of RAM. Really enjoying mine so far and I have an iPhone 4S and new iPad as well. Android has a special place in my heart for tinkering and this tablet is totally fulfilling that niche .

It has replaced my phone for everything but calls and texts, other than when I don't have it of course
I think the size is perfect as the ipad IMO is too big and heavy, 7 inch is perfect size
I bought mine on release weekend at jbhifi for $317, best choice
Buy it from a store so if you have problems, you can take it back like I did.

416mhz (but a lot of custom kernels overclock to 520)
OP: we can't really answer that (at least, not without information on your preferences). You should youtube the n7 in action and see if it seems to fit your needs.
The nexus 7 is very worth it. Your might have to return it a couple times if it has the defects like screen lift, light bleed, etc.
I doubt the iPad mini will be around 300 dollars, as the ipod touch costs 300 and is less than half the size.
If i were you, I would buy it!
I bought one yesterday and it's well worth it. Mine was built in August and doesn't seem to have any screen or multi-touch problems that others do.
Tapatalk made me send this.
I've had mine for a while and even with a little screen lift on the left hand side, I'd buy it all over again.
If you have the option, purchase an extended warranty that covers screen damage. That extra insurrance never hurt.
I'd buy that for any tab I'd purchase.
Buy it...you won't regret it. Your significant other may though. I think my girl is going to break mine if I don't put it down. Lolzzz

[Q] If I get my wife the Nexus 4 - Will she love me forever?

My wife is eligible for an upgrade from T Mobile and their customer loyalty department decided
to give me the "web-only" new customer deal on any phone for her. (7 year loyal customer)
I'm either getting her the Nexus 4 - $99 with a $50 rebate or the GS3 - $199 with a $100 rebate.
A few questions about the Nexus 4
1. My wife doesn't want it rooted or modded. Is the display tolerable without rooting and using a color setting app?
2. Why is the battery glued in?
3. I read the T Mobile Nexus 4 has very little bloatware. Is that accurate?
4. If I get my wife the Nexus 4, will she love me forever? (don't bother answering this question, nothing is forever).
A 2 CT diamond necklace would do that but nexus 4 after 4.2.2 is phenomenal
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
She will love you forever, the N4 is a way better phone than the S3, and cheaper too. It's also always bang upto date.
She will probably leave you when she gets the N5 from another guy
Display is fine
Likely glued down to prevent vibrations and not need other hardware to secure it
Tmo N4 is identical to Play Store N4
The N4 is better than the GS3 so at least the N4 gives you a better shot at getting it right.
I gave my wife an N4 for Christmas, unrooted and unmodded. She loves it, and thanks me for saving her from her old phone all the time.

1. Doesn't need calibrating, people just like hacking stuff.

I demonstrated how the N4 beats the iPhone 5 in pretty much every way to a friend (quite a clever one) and he turned round and said "yeah, but you don't get iTunes with a Nexus 4" *facepalm*.

1. The display is tolerable without tweaking it.
2. The battery is glued it because LG and Google are nuts. By doing this, it reduces the cost of the device somehow.
3. T-Mobile Nexus does not have any bloatware in fact. In fully stock android jellybean OS.
4. Um okay. Lol
The Nexus 4 is known to have a short battery life on stock. But after rooting it and installing a custom kernel, it can significantly make your battery last throughout the day or even longer.

Ahh once they are hooked on the iSphere its hard to get them off. Good brains seem to turn to complete putty unfortunately.
I demonstrated how the N4 beats the iPhone 5 in pretty much every way to a friend (quite a clever one) and he turned round and said "yeah, but you don't get iTunes with a Nexus 4" *facepalm*.

An LG Optimus T (p509) I imagine it'll be like going from driving a Toyota Camry to a Lamborghini Aventador.
Thank you all very much for the replies. I feel very assured that the Nexus 4 is the winner. :good:
