[Q] Music playback pausing randomly.

I had this problem with my S2 and I thought it was either the hardware failing or a problem with the custom ROM, but my new S4 with stock software has the exact same problem and it's driving me mad..
If I'm listening to stored music, the playback will pause randomly. The phone can be sitting untouched on a desk or in my pocket, and it will just pause, sometimes once in several hours, other times every few minutes. It doesn't coincide with any other events on the phone such as messages arriving or it switching networks. The music starts again as soon as I unpause it. It doesn't do this with streaming music, only music that's stored in the phone or on an SD card. It does it when I'm using either headphones or the speaker. Any ideas how to fix this, as it renders the phone useless as a music player.

Try to turn off automatic rotation.

Hi I don't know if any of you experience this problem before but my Nexus 4 keep stopping the music randomly, it doesn't matter if I'm using the phone speaker or headset or streaming with Bluetooth.
I tried different music/media players too and the music keep stopping. I tried Google play music, mx player, power amp, Apollo. The phone plays like 5 or 6 songs and then stops suddenly, also its stops in the middle of songs too (thanks hp420 for reminding me) I have to unlock the phone and press play again.
I tried different roms and kernels and its all the same results.

Same here. It stops in the middle of the song, sometimes. All I have to do is click play to get it going again, and it picks up where it left off, but it's annoying as hell!!
(running PA latest nightly with franco M3)

Same here . using rooted stock ROM and kernel . happens in Google music and nexmusic player .

Music player wont pause when incoming call

Music keeps playing when answering incomimg calls. Stock music player. Also when playing music and a txt msg is received it will lower the volume for the notification sound but wont resume previous volume level, it stays low. This happens on both devices I have. It this a known bug? How to fix it? I wouldnt like to download any other player, im ok with the stock. Thanks

Im 100% unmolested stock. Have downloaded no apps either, phone is as stock as it gets. It has also been fact reset. Thanks.

Factory reset doesn't repair system errors.
You could either reinstall the stock factory image, or flash a custom rom.

Try another player, if the problem persists then you know something is not right. I use poweramp and it normally fades out when incoming notification (Stock rom also). I rarely use gmusic so i can't tell if it's a problem with the app. I tried to call myself now while listening to gmusic and it faded out normally.

[Q] Sound issues in some apps

Hi.
I just installed the latest Mahdi ROM and I am now facing weird sound issues in Spotify and Rdio. It sounds like some beeps or dial-tones while playing music. But they seem to happen very randomly. First I thought it was only while streaming and only in spotify, but it happens with downloaded music there also and in Rdio it happens, too. On the other hand I haven't noticed it happen in Soundcloud and Deezer.
Any ideas what might be the reason?

music stops playing screen is locked or off

Hello everyone,
I just have this massive problem thst really annoys me!! I had my headphone plugged in and listening to music however, when my screen goes to sleep (black), the music will stop playing by itself. It says the music is still playing but then there are no sound. I hafld to replug my headphone and the restart the misc.
Someone PLEASE help me fix this!!!

It is the app/rom problem. I solved mine by installing 3rd party music player such as Poweramp or PlayerPro. Which rom are you on? V5? V6? which versions?
