Opera Shortcuts - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I add an shortcut to an opera bookmark to my home screen? I see there is a bookmark widget but that seems to only work for Chrome bookmarks. I hate Google Chrome so this doesn't do me any good. I have tried long pressing the bookmark that I want in Opera but it doesn't give me the option to create a shortcut.

Anyone?

You don't specify which version of Opera you're running... Mobile, Mini or Beta.
In Opera Mobile and Opera Mini...
On the web page you're currently on... and in the URL/Address bar, click on the star symbol, (just to the left the search box)... a menu should appear, with three options...
1) Add to Bookmarks
2) Add to Speed Dial
3) Add to Home Screen
This works for both Opera Mobile and Opera Mini.
-----------------------------
In Opera Beta...
....there doesn't appear to be a similar set of options... clicking on the + symbol (at the extreme left of the URL/Address bar) yields just two...
1) Add to Speed Dial
2) Save for Offline
There doesn't even appear to be a regular bookmark feature... just Speed Dial. It's a pretty smooth browser, but lacking in features... which probably explains why it's still in Beta.

Ged.

Some quick Opera questions pls.

I was just wondering if there is a way to make the load bar for Opera bigger? Basically when you are loading a website it is a tad annoying that the load bar at the bottom of the screen is so thin and is hidden by the zoom button, sometimes I accidently think it isn't loading the page as I can't see the line behind the button.
Also regarding the bookmarks that come as standard, is there a way to reorder this list?
Thanks.

Two Opera Questions/Issues (HD2)

Searched but didn't find anything on these two Opera questions:
1. In Opera on my TouchPro, there is a button to close the current tab (just to the right of the location field at the top of the window). On the HD2, I have to go to the tab menu to close a tab. What happened to the close tab button? I found it much more convenient...
2. The "big scroll bar" (I don't know what it's actually called, but the large button that pops up in certain applications to allow you to easily grab and drag the scroll bar with your finger) doesn't pop up in Opera. So if I'm at the end of a very long web page, I have to swipe 20 times to get back to the top since I can't "grab" the scroll bar with my finger. Is this how it works for everyone?
Thanks for any help you can offer!
I would like to know that, too.
The first one, I think, is a change from Opera 9.5 to 9.7.
A scrollbar would be nice!
Another annoying bug in Opera is whenever there is a Drop-down menu on a webpage with over 20+ options to select from there is no way to scroll within the drop-down menu.
To give an e.g. visit fring.com and from Download click the drop-down menu for Country or Brand... there is no way to scroll down or up. The entire page starts scrolling but specifically the menu portion doesn't.
This works very well on IE6.

1. if you click on the tab button (middle button), you get the option to close the tab.
2. scrolling works very fast for me

Yes, but that's two taps - what I miss is the "close tab" button that was right there in the browser window.

Apparently this is not a high-priority issue for xda'ers... no love so far...
Is the big pop-out scroll button HTCScroll or is it part of WM6.5? Wondering if there is a registry tweak to enable it for certain applications.
having just checked through the opera preferences editor there's no options for either of these, shame....

Zoom the area where the scroll bar is in the drop down menu.
Just single tap and hold over the scroll bar for 2-3 seconds. Don't take your hand away. Slide your finger now and it will scroll the menu instead of the opera window as a whole.

[Q] Mobile Browser

Is there a quick way to access the bookmark and homepage saved in the browser for the phone?
In the browser, long press the back button. It takes you to history and bookmarks. You can also make a shortcut to your homepage on your desktop by long pressing the home screen and choosing shortcuts / bookmarks.
hmm...long pressing the back button in the browser does nothing for me...is there a reason why?
or u can just press the menu button in the browser then the bookmark button in the top right corner.

How to re-arrange bookmarks in Dolphin HD?

I'm having problems moving bookmarks up and down the list in Dolphin HD. When I press and hold the icon to the right of each bookmark I can drag it up or down the list, but when when I remove my finger the bookmark always returns to where I dragged it from.
What is the correct way of moving a bookmark up or down the list?
