Assuming you had succesfuly connected before, try this -
-Switch on your wifi on the phone
-long press on your home wifi name
-select "forget netwok"
- than reselect your network name and relogin with your wifi password.
Hopefully it will connect.

I had this issue too with my gf's home modem. I was able to fix it by changing some security settings in her modem. When I get there tomorrow, I'll check it again, hopefully I remember it.
doesn't work the first thing i tried

Xda-viewers,
yesterday i tried to put on my WiFi, but it didn't work anymore
I have my HD2 for about 1month, very happy with the phone,
and this is the first mayor malfunction
When i press WiFi ON in the comm-manager it shows it's loading,
and then nothing, doesn't go ON,
turned the phone off-on, soft reset.. nothing..
anyone else had this glitch?
hard reset or other solution?
It always worked, untill yesterday
If I were you I would go for a full backup with SPB, and then restore (maybe excluding everything regarding the wifi) after a hard reset
I would try doing hard reset.
However, I had the same problem with my old Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox N560 and they had to exchange mainboard.
Do you have it charging? I can't seem to connect to any Wifi networks when I have the phone plugged in. Once i disconnect it, it works fine.
If you are connecting it using USB, make sure WMDC / ActiveSync is set to allowing your phone wireless connections while connected to your PC!
???
phone is fully charged
not connected to PC or anything
not working, going to try some things
anyone goto suggestions except hard reset?
else i hard reset tommorow,
thankz
You mean you can't turn ON or NOT CONNECTING?
If its not connecting, did you try to delete the connection settings from advanced wireless settings and try reconnecting again?

It's really not turning ON.
I press the Off-On button, I see it loading and then, nothing,
WiFi is still turned OFF.

I've got exactly the same problem - have only noticed it today.
If I go into wireless network config and select my network there and click connect, it takes ages before it says "connected" and then immediately changes to "not connected". I've obviously checked and rechecked my settings. It simply will not connect any more.
i also can't remember installing an update which would cause this probleme..
Connected to PC
When connected to PC, in the comm manager, the WLAN is dissabled, can't even push it, maybe something went wrong with disconnecting and this is the reason why my WiFi is not working - going on?
Anyone?
I'm not at home, so can't do anything with mine at the moment, but out of curiosity, did you use then Wifi N option in BsB Tweaks? That's the only thing Wifi related that I can think of touching recently.
Tried it
Indeed, thought the same,
tried to put Wifi-N off, soft-reset, but no change
Almost at the edge of HARD-reset

I really hope it doesn't need a hard reset. I'm not gonna be happy if I have to do that AGAIN!
I'm gonna keep searching, in the hope of finding a solution.
Out of curiosity, do you ever use the Wifi router app?
WM-Wifirouter
I tried to use the Wlan-Router with Comm manager,
didn't work that well,
installed app I had on my P3600: WM-Wifirouter,
this worked like a charm,
Timo
I've solved my problem! Yay!!
I don't know if this will be of any help to you, but give it a try and see how you get on.
Basically, when using the in-built wifi router, it assigned the IP address 192.168.1.1 to the wireless adapter. This is fair enough, for a router, but obviously not for when you want to connect to a wifi network and get assigned an IP address automatically.
I had seen other people suggest that this may be the problem, so I'd already checked my IP settings for the wireless adapter, and they were set to automatic.
However, if you run the wifi router and then go to your IP settings, it says 192.168.1.1. Set it to automatic while the router is running.
This made my phone get a bit upset, and I ended up reseting it, but since then I've been able to connect to my home network again.
So...
1. Run and start the wifi router
2. Go to settings, Connections, Wifi, Wireless networks, Network Adapters (tab)
3. Select the network adapter (Broadcom 802.11 DHD Network Adapter)
4. Change to use a server-assigned IP address, instead of a specific one
5. Click OK
6. Reset the phone - don't close the wifi router app first.
7. When it starts up, go to the comm mananger and disable wifi.
You should now be able to start wifi and connect to your home network. (It may do it automatically if you don't do step 7 - I'm not sure).
Give it a try and let us know how you get on
Sensational johncmolyneux!!!
I had this problem too - it was doing my head in, but now seems like an obvious conflict. Thanks for finding the solution.
Now all I need to do is solve my BT Voice Commander problem (reported in many other threads) and the HD2 will have the same functionality as the Hermes it has replaced ;-)
Cheers,
Lordbowl
You still haven't hard reset?! I am doing hard reset every 6days because of mod/theme and other crap testing
Backups with resco/pim/office2007 entreprise on windows 7 beta do the trick to have phone working in 15 minuts.

I am having trouble connecting to my wifi at school. My school is on a secure network that you need a password to get into. My friends can get onto it fine with their phones, and my brother can get on it with his ipod touch with no problems at all, but my NS cannot get on. Does anyone know what the problem might be? When using a ipod to log on, I go into networks and select the secure school network and a windows pops up asking for the password--i enter it--and im in. With the NS i select the network and its just sitting there trying to connect but no window pops up asking for anything and it wont ever establish connection it will just disconnect after trying to connect for 5 minutes. I have selected the network and held it to bring up the "modify network" option and tried to enter a password on there and change up the EAP method and stuff (have no idea what that is) but nothing works. I have a home network that I can log onto fine and when I click on it it asks for the network password. Any solutions or advice??
Also I have found so far tat the ipod/iphone has a longer wifi range than the NS which is disappointing.
try logging through your phone browser using ur wifi user id and password first . i have the same issue with my uni network. every day i have to log in through the browser and then it automatically connects to wifi.

How exactly do I do this?
There are 2 networks at my school. THe student network and teacher network. If i select the teacher network my browser pops up with a webpage asking for a used id and password. When I sselect the student it just keeps trying to log on and nothing happens. (This is the same for ipod except when I select student network a little transparent window pops up asking for a password)
I tried opening the browser but it just pops up and says cannot log onto this webpage
Try connecting via the app "WiFinder" I find that sometimes connects more successfully than android stock feature.
Let us know how u get on

Hello,
I've already searched the forum for an answer but I've been unable to find any solution.
I have a GT-i9505 Galaxy S4 with Omega ROM. I though flashing a new rom will help me but it's the same.
Everytime I walk away from my router, it automatically sets the wifi as "Network disabled because internet connection is slow" and won't connect again. I have to manually click connect to force it to connect it. Also, when I'm in my University, it keeps disconnecting for the same.
How can I avoid this and force it to stay connected? Do I need to flash some custom modem or something?
Thanks

TRY THESE STEPS
1) Settings => Connections and tap Wi-Fi. Then tap Menu and make sure Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep is set to Always.
2) Turn off Wi-Fi power save mode on your S4. Type *#0011# on the phone dialer, then Menu => Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi power save mode to Off. (WORKED FOR ME)
3) Or change your router settings to 802.11 model
Galaxy S4 wifi non-connection/drop out NEW FIX
Had a problem for ages with my S4 not connecting to wifi and therefore no internet, no updates etc. My router is a Netcomm NB6Plus4Wn but this may work with most routers.
It would constantly go through the authentication, secured/saved cycle but rarely actually got an ip address.
After trial and error I found this worked straight away and it is a very easy fix.
Go to your router settings page, then wireless settings, look for Primary Channel setting.
There may be a (Lower/Upper selection) - tick the LOWER radio button and apply changes. Let router reboot.
Note I also use WPA/TKIP settings for security.
Test your S4.
Mine was set to Upper Primary Channel previously and as soon as I changed that setting to Lower Channel wifi and internet worked immediately.
I hope this helps some people with this common problem as I know how frustrating it can be.
Cheers
wifi verification problem
galaxy s4 GT-I9500 running pac-man rom. just started getting verification problem connecting to my linksys router one foot from my phone.
did the following on my phone: settings, Wi-Fi, settings, wps pin entry, msg reads " enter pin xxxxxxxxxx on your Wi-Fi router." where xxxxxxxxx is a number.
logged on to my router, clicked on Wi-Fi tab, under Wi-Fi protected setup, it asked me to enter the wps pin number from my phone. I did and after a minute or so, it indicated success and now my phone connects to Wi-Fi
weird. my phone connected for months without this procedure but just started failing today. thanks to the one who suggested checking the router setup.

I recently ran into the same problem and my wi-fi button wouldn't come on no matter what I did. Finally, I took the phone to Best buy as the now have a Samsung store there and the guy reflashed my phone with the 4.3 update free of charge and it worked. When I got home I rooted over my phone and now my wifi works fine. Hope this helps.

mac adress unavailable HELP
so i rotted my s4 gt9500 and somehow it managed to lose it's mac adress says unavailable at the moment unfortunately i have no efs backup so iam on a stalemate here i really need to get back my mac adress somehow so that the wi fi works again properly.any help you really be appreciated.
p.s the phone does not work on a custom rom yet since i encoutered this problem and want to fix it first.
hello,
i have the following problem with wifi on my zopo zp 700: it connects to our home- wifi, but only grey connectifity stripes, not the blue ones i get usually. it says "connected" but internet doesnt work.
when im at work the wifi works fine.
i started the dignostic tool by dialing*#*#4636#*#* and found out that there are 2 configured versions of our home wifi there, one with keymgmt (ID9) and one without (ID10).
it seems that the phone connects to the wifi without kegmt and this causes the problem. when i disable the network with ID10 (the one without keymgmt) it works until i switch off the wifi and on again. then the network with ID10 (and all others that i had disabled before are enabled again)
as there are several other networks that i dont know but seem configured in this list, i wanted to know how i diable or delete these unwanted networks from the list of configured wifis?
thx in advantage and best regards,
nick
Try to factory reset your wifi or gateway
Sent from my GT-I9105P using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
How do you do that? I opende the engineer mode but did only find different testing modes for wifi..
Reset button or something like that on your wifi device. Let use them to reset to factory
Make an hard reset :good:
This might be a stupid idea, but can you not just go into Wifi settings, pick your home network name, and select 'Forget'?
Make sure you forget all you want it to forget (i dunno if it will list it twice or not)...
Then re-do the settings with correct password...fixed?!?
You should check if you get an ip address from your wifi router.

Maybe a stupid question, but are you sure you got the right password in?
Have you tryed connecting to other wifi's with your phone ?
Check if you can connect to other WLANs. If you can, you probably got the password wrong. If the password is right, try setting your password encryption to AES if it's on TKIP. You can also try logging in without password (for test purposes only, please) andl ogging in with a fixed IP.

You can try a few things
=>Delete the access point and re-enter the password and join
=>Factory reset your Device
=>Check if your WiFi router broadcasts in a/b/g/n
