I do not have a zip but I can tell you how to do it for yourself if you want. I always change the icons on all the roms I use. It's pretty simple to do.

Sorry for the lag. I'm at work right now but I'll send you the write up in a few hours.
Sent from my HTC myTouch 4g using xda premium

Alright, so this is not a professional write up. It might be a lil confusing. If you get stuck some where, just let me know. I'll help you out.
Before anything, save a copy of your existing systemui.apk to your sdcard in case your notification bar breaks with the mod. I recommend a full Rom backup.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Using root explorer, go to folder system/app. Make sure to mount r/w before.
2. Scroll down to systemui.apk, press and hold on the apk and EXTRACT ALL. When done extracting, press on go to extracted. Find systemui folder and press on it.
3. Once inside the systemui folder, go res/drawable-hdpi
4. Once inside drawable-hdpi folder, press the menu button and select MULTISELECT.
NOTE: Inside drawable-hdpi folder contains all the png's images you need to replace the H symbol to any symbol you want.
5. Now you're going to select 4 4g png images of your choice that you want to replace the H symbol with.
You can choose whatever 4g symbol you want as long you have these 4 file names: (you can also see the screenshots below for reference.)
stat_sys_data_connected_4g.png
stat_sys_data_in_4g.png
stat_sys_data_inandout_4g.png
stat_sys_data_out_4g.png
6. Once selected, press copy then press the back button till you see the systemui folder which should be speedsoftware/extracted if you look at the top bar and press paste.
7. Now one at a time you're going to rename the 4 png files to say "h" for example:
From this, stat_sys_data_connected_4g.png
To this, stat_sys_data_connected_h.png
8. Once you've renamed each file, press menu again, press MULTISELECT and select all 4 files and move them back to systemui in res/drawable-hdpi. It will ask you if you want to replace existing, press yes to all.
9. Once all the files are moved back to drawabke-hdpi, back out till you're out of systemui folder and you see the systemui folder.
10. Press and hold the systemui folder. When options pop up select ZIP THIS FILE and let it do it's thing. Once it's finished, it's going to ask you if you want to go where the zip folder is at, press yes.
11. Now you should be in speedsoftware/zip directory. You will see the systemui.zip file. Press and hold it till options pop up and rename it to systemui.apk.
12. Press and hold the systemui.apk you just created till options pop up and press on COPY.
13. Press the back button till you're all the way back to where you see the system folder. Once in system press app and once inside the app folder, paste the new systemui.apk. It's going to ask you if you want to replace*existing, press yes and back out of root explorer back to your home screen.
14. Reboot

Bad news, it doesn't work. I don't have a status bar anymore after I pushed that to my phone and restarted. I'd post a screenshot but it doesn't let me. I just noticed from those photos you linked that those are the HTC Sense versions. I'm looking for one that looks like this:

Yea, I just posted those screenshot up just for file name reference. Systemui has both sense and aosp symbols.
The one in your screenshot is the symbol I tried replacing it to.
What Rom are you using right now? Synthetic?
By the way, to fix your statusbar, push the stock systemui you made a copy of before.

My bad man. I forgot to mention. Before pushing the apk system/app, you were supposed copy it to system first, set permission to (rwrr) and then copy the apk to the apps folder and then reboot. Its probably why it didn't work. Set permissions to the app and retry it.
To set permissions just long press the apk and in options press permissions.
EDIT: Confirmed working. So the apk should work. Just forgot to mention the step above.

Ok guys here's my first contribution to the community I guess.
First of all thanks to;
frostman89 - for the iphone pngs
teslacoil - for the widgetlocker for sure!
others - those that contributed that i forgot.
I take no credit at all, i created this thread because many people have PM'ed me for the pngs and tutorial.
Ok lets start shall we? You will need;
- Widgetlocker(Buy it first cuz its not free)
- Root Explorer(Buy it too and this is optional if you dont know adb)
- the PNG files, download here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8731533&postcount=31 >> Thanks frostman89! OR from my dropbox;

Got 2 steps on how to do this;
1) ADB
2) Root Explorer
3) My own steps(this is what i did to get it working!!)
4) Ninjamorph(S-OFF required)
5) Paypal buyer~~
6) Easier method - simple script
7) What if FC after applied the mod?
BEFORE THAT, NANDROID first!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) ADB(google would help a lot)
*Btw make sure you have your widgetlocker completely removed/uninstalled before doing this.
a. You will need Android SDK installed (google for it will ya?).
b. "adb pull" your widgetlocker(anyone who did this can tell me please?)
c. Open your "pulled" apk using winrar.
d. Browse to /res/drawable-hdpi
e. Drop those 2 images you downloaded in there(make sure it is the exact name as the original so it will overwrite it.
f. Now for adb push part(make sure you in the recovery mode and make sure the widgetlocker.apk is put inside android-sdk-windows/tools folder - the default folder for adb);
Code:
adb remount
adb push com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker-1.apk /system/app/com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker-1.apk
adb reboot
g. Tada! Enjoy!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) Root Explorer
*Btw make sure you have your widgetlocker completely removed/uninstalled before doing this.
a. Browse the app in data/app, it is called com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker-1.apk
b. Copy it to your SD card.
c. Modify it(see step d and e above)
d. Put it back into system/app(you need to be in R/W mode)
e. After that, long click the app, select permissions, and do checkmarks like this: (the * represents a checkmark) - this is courtesy of frostman89
* . * . -
* . - . -
* . - . -
f. Reboot and voila!
==========================================================
3. My own steps!
Actually my steps is mixed between those 2 because, I can't pull using adb so i had to pull using Root Explorer. Then I cant push it using Root Explorer so i had to adb push them.
So there you go, if you have problems like me, just did what i did.
a. Browse the app in data/app, it is called com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker-1.apk
b. Copy it to your SD card.
c. Modify it(see step d and e above)
f. adb push(make sure you in the recovery mode and make sure the widgetlocker.apk is put inside android-sdk-windows/tools folder - the default folder for adb);
Code:
adb remount
adb push com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker-1.apk /system/app/com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker-1.apk
adb reboot
I'll tell you guys too why i cant use adb pull and push using root explorer;
adb pull - easy, i dont know how to adb at that time...haha~~
paste using root explorer - i pasted it but nothing appeared? i was like wtf and that leads me to learn how to adb.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4) Ninjamorph(S-OFF required)
I'm not sure how but here is what faceqt told me;
Or, if you have S-OFF you can use Ninjamorph to replace the 2 .png's and reboot your phone.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5) Paypal buyer~~
Quoted from jayhan73;
For people who have purchaed WidgetLocker off paypal, the steps to do this only involves replacing the png files (i.e. opening the apk file sent to your email and adding the png files into the required directory). After that, reinstall the widgetlocker. You may also choose to push the apk via adb. Either way, it works.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
But i believe once you mod it you can't install it normally, so its either adb or root explorer.
6)Easier method - Smple script as posted by brady;
brady1uk said:
There is a much easier way to get this on your phone using the files from the OP without faffing around on adb, rom manager etc...
download APK manager from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695701
put the apk file in the "place-apk-here-for-modding"
run the script.bat and extract it, (basically unzips it) drop the new PNG files in /res/drawable-hdpi (replace already existing) then run zip.apk from script and (select option 2 Regular apk) then use option 4 sign apk.
look in the pace-apk-here-for-modding folder will be a new file called 'something'-signed.apk. (this is the new edited Widgetlocker
This file you can put on your SD card and Install and Uninstall like a normal apk using ASTRO etc. no need for ADB and root explorer.
Takes literally 5 minutes to do with NO RISK to your phone
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
7) What if FC after applying the mod?
Is WidgetLocker Force Closing after you've applied the mod?
Quoted from zHK3r
Then try these steps:
Requirements:
Android SDK
HTC Sync Drivers
WidgetLocker
Two PNGs
7zip/WinRAR
1) ADB pull /data/app/com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker-1.apk
2) Rename the .apk to .zip and open the folder - Drop the two PNGs in drawable-hdpi
3) Rename the .zip back to .apk
On your phone: Uninstall WidgetLocker and then re-install.
Start WidgetLocker, but once you've started it. Press home.
Don't apply any settings or continue the tutorial
4) ADB push com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker-1.apk /data/app/teslacoilsw.widgetlocker-1-apk
On your phone: Start WidgetLocker > Menu > Settings > Look and Feel > Slider & Layout > iPhone
Code:
adb devices
adb remount
adb pull data/app/teslacoilsw.widgetlocker-1-apk
adb push com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker-1.apk /data/app/teslacoilsw.widgetlocker-1-apk
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Btw if you have any problems pushing an apk, try this;
Quoted from Zaphyr;
Ok, so I figured out the problem.
/system wasn't mounted. Even in recovery when I tried to push it over, I needed to go in the Clockwork settings and choose mount system before I could push it.
But now it works perfectly! YAY!!

*I'm pretty sure it'll work the same for other lockscreen you wanted as long as you have the needed files.
Feel free to comment and give feedbacks, and correct me if i got wrong in some part. Enjoy!

Just drop it inside the res>drawable hdpi - it'll replace by itself, that being said, it will replace the existing file(meaning slider_iphone and slider_iphone_background). You can back up the original files if you want.

Download widget locker, back it up using astro, take the apk from sd/backups/apps and put it on your pc desktop, change the extention from .apk to .zip (just right click then go to rename and make the changes) with winzip, go to the drawable_hdpi folder then copy the above instructions for which files to delete, download the png from the first post, put it in drawable_hdpi.
After that, rename it back to .apk, put it on your sd card and install via astro. Make sure to delete the version you have installsd on your phone first just to be safe.

[Q] Transformer back/home buttons

Does anyone know if it'd be possible to edit the back/home/recent buttons to be the same as the ones from the Transformer? I see in the Xoom forum someone mentioned editing the SystemUI apk, which I don't have experience doing (don't mind a tutorial if someone can point me to one). I'm on the 3.1 Acer_A500_3.019.03_COM_GEN1 release that was posted recently if that helps.
What is so nice about them! Screenhot/pic?
Ya, I hate the Transformers version of those buttons. Much prefer Acers - which, I understand, are stock HC.

I'm actually using this ROM and I don't like the ASUS icons. I tried fixing it using root explorer by replacing the APK file I found in the Asus forum and it would crash on boot forcing me to wipe.
Can someone post the file I need to make this work? A CWM zip file would be best since i'm weary about using root explorer to do this.
I edited my buttons about a week ago. It went smoothly though I didn't flash a zip file but rather replaced the png files in the systemUI.apk
It's pretty straight forward; I just used es file explorer and 7zip. If you're interested I can post a quick tutorial when I get back home.
Btw, you sure you want to change them to the transformer icons? They're pretty ugly.

It seem like a simple copy and paste, but a tutorial would be great.
If I were to make my own buttons entirely, would it be easier to do it this way or make it flashable. This seems easier though.
Completely forgot about getting back to this thread, sorry. Yeah, simple paste will do; rename the original systemUI.apk file just in case you want to go back to stock.
As always, you do this at your own risk, blah blah!!! Please read and understand what you are doing before trying this!
The 3 programs I used to do this: 7zip, ES File Explorer(on Tab) and Photoshop (You can use whatever you want). I have not looked into making flashable zips so this way was just easier for me.
1. Open Es File Explorer (free from market) on your Tablet and access settings options > check mark 'Root Explorer' and then check 'Mount File System' as writable.
2. Now within Es File Exp navigate to System/App/ There you will find the file you need to mod named 'SystemUI.apk' Copy it by long pressing on the file and select copy.
3. Now that it's copied, place the file somewhere on your sd card or anywhere else so you can copy it to your computer.
4. Once on your computer, Use 7zip right click and 'Open Archive'. The files you want are in res/drawable-mdpi/ so now find the specific icons you want to mod and copy them to a place where you can work on them with your choice of graphics editor (ie photoshop). Note that the bottom icons are in sets of 2 (standard icon and pressed icon). The icons referenced should start with 'ic_sysbar...'.
5. After modding your icons, 'Open archive' on the SystemUI.apk again and simply drag and drop your new icons into res/drawable-mdpi/ (Do not change the name of the files!) The file is now ready to be put back on the Tablet.
6. Copy the modded SystemUI.apk file onto your tab somewhere you'll know where to find it.
7. Using ES File Exp navigate back to System/App to file your original SysemUI.apk rename it something like SystemUI.apk.bak so you can go back to it if you want to later. This should cause your Tab to crash immediately upon completion. Don't freak out!
8. Hold down the power button to reboot your Tab.
9. After booting up, note your menu bar on the bottom has disappeared. No problem just press your Apps menu in the top right hand corner and open up ES File Exp. Locate and copy your modded SystemUI.apk into System/App/ Now back out and reboot.
10. Enjoy your new icons.
If you want to go back to stock, just rename your stock SystemUI file back to normal and kill the modded one you made.
If any questions let me know. Hope you find it helpful!

If you're interested, upload your SystemUI.apk and I can mod it for you. You would just have to follow the instructions on my previous post to install.
I also figured out the Circle Battery % in framework-res thanks to MagnusRagnarok (Thanks!).
If anyone else is interested, I can do it for them as well. Just let me know.
I plan on making a few different mods so if there is enough interest I'll start a new thread of Themes for A500's (maybe).
NinjaMorph on the market will save many of the steps and you can make the mods right on your tab. Just have the replacement icons on your SD card.
Overview
i went and downloaded a ton of those cubed icon's where/ what file do i need to put them to get them to work by default on my tab without having to use a DIFF launcher? inside the apks for the apps or is there something somewhere else??
Followed you instructions but....

Now I get force closes on the systemui.apk when I go to try and load the settings. Any suggestions?
My bad. I accidentally renamed the wrong file when I first did the mod.

Where do i edit the ACS text in the pulldown? I want to change it to something more personal or something.

You have to decompile framework-res in APK Manager or APKTool(Or whatever other tool you can find to decompile).
Under values edit strings.xml and find the line "<string name="zz_roamingText1">ACS</string>"
Change the "ACS" value to what you want and recompile framework.
Do not expect it to work. It will most likely fail even if you don't change anything.
What would make it fail??
Couldnt I just delete the META-INF folder and re-sign it after recompiling it?
Yeah I can never get it to recompile either. I think you have to set twframework-res.apk as a dependency or something like that. Mystery has a guide on just this subject but I still couldn't get it working. And also omega, you don't sign system apks?
cd's or tapes?
custom frameworks rarely recompile.. you have to work around it
decompile a stock framework, change whatever file you were going to change in acs framework, recompile, use acs framework as a keep file..
Decompile, change the file, recompile, then take the recompiled XML file, and put it in the original apk
i was half asleep when i said to resign it lol.
ill try some of the tips you guys gave me and see if i can do something with it. thanks

Not going to work since styles.xml becomes bundled with resources.rsc. Replacing the resources causes a **** load of errors.
If you want a custom thing in the drop down your gonna have to edit a stock framework add all the changes from the theme your using

Here's my method for editing the styles.xml.
With apkmanager, decompile, then immediately recompile your framework-res.apk. If you get errors, then you got an issue that you must fix. If you can read the error log, it will tell you what it is. No errors, then continue.
in the projects folder, navigate to the values folder and open the styles.xml with a text editor (I recommend notepad++).
Make the edit that darkie posted above, save, then recompile.
No errors? good, now sign the apk
Go back to the modded, extract the signedframework-res.apk and open your original framework with 7zip. Then copy the resources.rsc from the extracted folder to the same location in the 7zip window.
Note: this is the method that has worked for me

Not if you're using the stock 6 lock mod. It decompiled/recompiled perfect for me.
So if you used SRF or Simply Blue as a base you could swap 'em out without problems......theoretically

Right, I'm talking about using a framework that already has all the mods cooked in, not a stock framework.

Cool new banner!
Okay so i finally got around to doing this.
Heres what im running into thats stopping me (using APK Manager):
Decompile - OK
Modify Strings.xml - OK
Compile - This is where i get lost, when i goto the keep folder and delete the resources.rsc file then sign it. there is no new resources.rsc file... what am i doing wrong? Also just to make sure on these two steps that ask you if its a system file and copy over other files, I assume I say YES to both?
EDIT:
ok so i looked into the logs and found this:
W: Cant find 9patch chunk in file: "drawable-hdpi/statusbar_background.9.png". Renaming it to *.png.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Then it opens up a can of worm in the public.xml dealing with the .9.pngs

Did you decompile, then recompile the framework-res.apk before you made any changes? That is a test I ALWAYS run to make sure I don't have other things to fix first.

[HOWTO] Apk Manager ICS - decompile apk's

Hey guys iv had trouble discovering a version of apktool that would actually work on Samsung stock firmware !
Although I think I may have just found one which can decompile: HERE
This is confirmed working on CM9 .apk files.. Samsung on the other hand has been troublesome im hoping one of the dev's can offer some sort of explanation.
CRASH COURSE FOR NOOBS
First things first, you can to extract your "framework-res.apk" from "system/framework" of your rom.
You will then have to set your framework file in apktool.. Two ways of doing so:
If you have apktool installed in C:\Windows open a CMD window and type the following command: "apktool if framework-res.apk".
or
You simply rename your framework-res.apk to "1.apk" and place it in "C:\Users\<YOURUSERNAME>\framework".
You then want to extract "Apk Manager ICS" from the zip you downloaded & then place the apk you want to modify in "place-apk-here-for-modding" folder.
At this stage you can open up "Script.bat" which will execute a CMD window with a bunch of different options..
Enter "22" to set your target project, then "9" to decompile. Once the decompile completes you can then navigate to the "Apk Manager ICS/projects" folder where you will see the decompiled source of the apk.
Make your modifications to the apk and take note of the files you have edited, this is important.
To recompile select option "11". If errors persist this may be due to a incorrect commands/functions you have used in your modifications, review the log..
Navigate to "Apk Manager ICS\place-apk-here-for-modding" where you will now find a "unsigned<APKNAME>.apk". This is a recompiled version of the original apk! Or semi depending on the errors you received.
Open this file with 7zip/Winzip or what ever you use and extract the files which you had modified from the apk.. eg. SecContacts.apk\res\layout-ar-rAE\call_detail_delete.xml
You then want to open up the original apk in "Apk Manager ICS\place-apk-here-for-modding" just named "<APKNAME>.apk" in 7zip/Winzip overwrite the files with the ones you have just extracted from the unsigned version. By using this tactic you will keep the original signatures on the .apk..
Post back your results.. If anyone can add any information to this post please feel free too ! I just though id share my experiences so far.. Hopefully someone can shed a little more light!
Good luck !
God dam it, cant get it compiling anymore.. Someone figure this out please..
Well my experience with Apk Manger has been that the same one I've been using for Gingerbread works just fine on ICS, so no need for a new one necessarily. But I did find that sometimes Apk Manager could not decompile certain apks...where APKTOOL could. I do like to use Apk Manager, so I found success by decompiling them with APKTOOL, then transferring the files over to the projects folder of Apk Manager, then the rest you just do normal.
As for your instructions on how to use Apk Manager,
you did a good job describing the fundamentals of how to decompile, and recompile but I find the major flaw in your instructions is when you say "I had recieved errors when doing so.. ignore this for now." DON'T ignore that! That is saying you have an error
So if you get that error when it asks you yes or no, choose "no" and it will abort. Then type "21" and a red CMD screen will popup and run and error log. Its not real easy to read, but if you do it you will find your mistake in your edits. Correct these mistakes until you DO NOT get any errors, then proceed.
If you do this correctly and receive no errors then the "unsigned<APKNAME>.apk" that will be created in the "place-apk-here-for-modding" folder is done. Pull it out and remove the unsigned part.
The copy and paste method just leaves room for more errors, IMO. Ones that are not logged.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the input, I agree with you 100% about the error section.
My question is tho how are people decompiling camera.apk & contacts.apk to make these great mods we see.. there MUST be a way to successfully compile a sammy .apk.
Works perfectly fine with AOSP/CM9 you can decompile & recompile no problems..

Wanam has provided a working APK Manager which can be found in the OP of this thread.
And also I created a batch script method for simple decompiling and recompiling but only for framework-res.apk.
I havent used any of the other repacks. I could modify it to use any apk if there is a need.
Its in my sig anyway and definitely works with framework-res.apk

Could you provide a quick start guide to these manual fixes?
Framework-res.pk is the only file I can't recompile.
So i had a strange problem.
I do everything like this manual.
But every Time when i want to replace the framework-res.apk after it hangs in bootprocess. Its the same when i do nothing in the .apk, Just decompile and recompile.
I had this Problem on every Tool.
I want to mod the framework from CM9 on my Galaxy S2.
So what can i do? Whats the Problem?

I confirm : working for me
I followed the instructions in the first post and got up to running Script.bat, but then I got the dreaded "Java not found" even though I have the latest java installed.
I read that the environmental variables need to be edited. Could someone give me an idea as to what the PATH should look like? Thanks in advance.

So, I should type "PATH" for the variable name? This will replace the PATH value that is already there, correct? Can there be any spaces in the path?

Galaxy S4 Screen Rotation Stopped Working!

Everything worked fine until I installed official 4.4.2 ROM from Sammobile. Screen rotation just stopped working and the only way i can get it to work is by installing "Adaptive Rotation Lock (free)". Well, i think it's because of that, because with 4.3 everything worked fine.
I installed official 4.4.2 on March 15th. Later on 19th it just stopped working. My I9505 is rooted, used it to record videos from screen and deleting some bloatware, i wasn't dealing with no custom crap, just a plain root, but i red that this voids warranty either way. I really don't know what to do, after checking CPU-Z my sensors seem to be fine:

And yes, i checked if Auto-Rotation setting is ticked in notification bar, restarted phone, turned off for several seconds and turned back on. Downloaded an app called Sensor Tester from Soaus which allowed to calibrate accelerometer, that didn't work either. I even smacked with care the back of my phone to get sensors back in their place (if they didn't already) and that didn't work too.
Looking forward to your help, thanks in advance!
