I looked around here and saw that a few mentioned it before but with no proper answer to solve this issue ?

This is possibly due to incorrect APN settings on your phone. You should be able to look up the APN settings for your carrier and check in your phone to see if they are set up correctly. Also, are you using the stock messaging app or something else from the Play Store? Some other messaging apps, such as GO SMS Pro, may require the APN settings to be set up in the app too, not just in the phone settings.

Are you on at&t? If so, I sometimes have issues with MMS when connected to a microcell. I also noticed too, that on at&t branded phones there is an extra MMS port option that's not present on AOSP/vanilla ROMs. That too may be part of the issue. All assuming you're on at&t.

You might find this link helpful. http://blog.012.net/2012/06/apn-012mobile/
From what I could tell after translating the page to English, this should help you check your APN settings on your phone. Read the section for Android devices with version 4 and verify these settings are set properly on your phone. Let us know how it goes.

These details will be carrier specific, if you do a quick google search for your carriers name and mms apn settings you will probably find they differ slightly to the internet apn settings. Many carriers use a blank apn with type mms for this.
Best of luck.

If you froze the stock sms app. you will not be able to receive mms or if they are sent from a Iphone and have not been resized.

Why do iPhone mms have to be resized in order to work on the Atrix??
I´ve also had lots of problems with my mms settings, right now everything seems to be working fine though .
My fix was to make sure I hade the correct apn-settings for my mms (I actually forgot to put the "http://" in the MMSC line ), then everything worked fine for a couple of days. Today I couldn't recieve MMS so I installed GO SMS Pro, and as if by magic everything started to work again . Hopefully it will last this time .
I'm running a rooted Greyblur 2.1 Atrix in Sweden
I've had it for four days now and I still haven't successfully sent an MMS message. Receiving one seems to be no problem. Here's a screen shot of the APN I'm using if that will be of any help.

Try disconnecting from WiFi and try to send a MMS after that.
I believe there is some bug that causes this issue.

I had an MMS problem recently, after switching phones. Calling AT&T and telling them my problem got it fixed. I just needed my SMS/MMS plan reset.

I see you are using GoSMS. I had a problem where GoSMS can't send MMS on the N4. Try sending through the stock SMS app. It worked fine for me.
Working fine here with that APN and using stock messaging app.

And that did the trick. I usually stay away from the normal Messaging app because Go is just better in all aspects. It sucks that there's apparently a problem that won't allow MMS to go through. Hopefully it's fixed in the next update because it's literally my favorite and most used Android app.

Yep, I loved using GoSMS too. But the SMS app with the popup is pretty decent.

Where exactly does it say this, maybe you're thinking of email signatures or such, and it would depend on the type of email client. Normally your actual android device ID isn't just arbitrarily transmitted in an email.

It's not a signature and it's not the android device ID, they don't match. My work email pulls it off the phone. It even shows it when I set up the email. I did some research and that's how I found out it's called a mobile device ID.

So you're using an app specific for work then I'm guessing. If you got access to the original rom where the ID is correct, you can install titanium backup from the play store there. Then backup the settings (under preference there's a way to save the titanium backup settings to the SD Card/media space), then restore new rom, install titanium backup again, point it to the sdcard/external for it's backup, and you may be prompted with a prompt that your android ID differs from the other, and given the opportunity to restore it from backup (however bear in midn you may have to reinstall some applications that are dependent on your new ID).
There may be an easier way, but it's just weird that you have a work email that would work based off that.
It's not a host name I just tried that too.

That looks very much like a setting you jsut set in the app/email client. Just like the iPhone has that, it's in the settings. What email client are you using, should be just like the XDA/Tapatalk app where you can modify the manual signature.

Oh just the standard ol email app. Double check the settings of that app , On the message list -> menu -> settings -> Tap account -> Signature
(by default nothing shows in the signature area when I send myself a test email thru my yahoo account, nor nothing in the mail headers to designate operating system)
Unless of course you're saying that it's being performed serverside.
How about in developers options their is one called device hostname and it can be edited, by default my devices all say Android-some random numbers and letters.

The mobile device id is different in the Stock email app vs the touchwiz email app. Anyone know how to change the stock mobile device id?
DELETE
There may be other ways of going about this but...
I am on sac's latest 4.2 t.w rom and dial ##3282# to access numerous data settings (Apn settings included). If you dial the code I mentioned above click edit, enter your msl ,scroll down to the bottom and select "more". Then navigate to "lte apn settings and that should get you to where you wanna be...i think, If I'm not mistaken you just wanted to know how to get to where the apn's are listed to cross reference it with yours to see if all is okay and go from there right
EDIT:I just re-read your post and am assuming you know how to get to your apn's so ignore the first part of my msg. The second half might be of use thought best of luck.
If I were in your shoes and had data connectivity issues i would try dialing ##72786# it'll re-provision your phone (reset your data profile to its defaults) and "possibly" correct your problem. none the least it will only take a few minutes and won't hurt any to do so IMO.
Best of luck, hope this helped you in some way bro. oh and I attached a link (below) to a screenshot of my apn's listed for you to cross reference with your own.

reactive your phone with sprint. New profile and update prl.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
So is that an adequate way to update prl and profile from an aosp ROM? I've been flashing back and forth to TW to update prl and profile. Can I just dial that and do the same? That would just be amazing!!!!!!
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I reactivated the phone and still only have the one APN. "APN2 LTE Internet n.ispsn" now i need to figure out how to add the rest of them.
I downgraded back to MF9 then went all the way back to Sacs v6 rom. Now I have 5 APN's. Now I am going to reflash sacs 5.1 first to see if they stick. Then, if they do, I will odin back up to MJA. I am hoping they stick.
so going back to Sacs 5.1 brings me back to just 1 APN. Can anyone verify they have all 5 on sacs 5.1 Rom?
I just read that there is a trick to getting the apn to stick. With your sprint sim card in download the apn settings shortcut, add to the home screen, click it, hit menu and select restore to defaults and it should read the apn from the sim card and give you a choice of a couple apns to activate.

That isnt doing anything for me either. Something changes in my phone going from 4.2 to 4.3. I have all 5 APN's with 4.2, whatever 4.3 i install, it gets knocked down to 1. Not sure if this is normal operation for 4.3 or not.
So will this update profile and prl successfully while on AOSP?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Well, It doesnt matter what 4.3 rom I put on, stock,sacs,triforce...they all go to 1 APN on my phone. As soon as I reflash 4.2, all 5 APN's come back. I find this hard to believe it is limited to my phone. Something in 4.3 is causing this.
So will this delete apn's or update prl & profile?

I am not trying to be rude. But everytime we get rolling on the issue, it gets sidetracked to a different issue and never gets back on course. It starts to get a bit frustrating. Lets figure out the original question before we start on a seperate topic. Sorry you feel this way..
Anyone knows where the entry "APN2 EHRPD internet" and "APN2 LTE internet" come from? They are not in the stock apns-conf.xml file, but with stock ROM, they will appear in the APN list when you are with mvno (in my case it's Freedompop). I'm trying to figure this out so that I might be able to do some mod the non-stock ROM which don't usually has these two entries.
