I have a GT-I9505 running on the unofficial nightly CM10.1. Because of the bluetooth problem in phone calls (no voice) I wanted to try different modems, but I cannot flash them.
With Odin all seems to be OK (checked phone), but after reboot in sysinfo the old version is shown - XXUAMDM. I tried several times, but no success.
So I took a CWM flashable file from the I9500 and changed the modem.bin. Flashing over CWM also no errors, but also no success.
What's the problem?
+1

You're currently stuck at 4.4.2 and the only custom recovery that seems to be working is this one. Give it a try.
I was in the same situation yesterday. Download the official Samsung KitKat, boot your phone into download mode and flash it via Odin again. After auto reboot you should be good. Then if you want you can flash the latest KitKat CWM and a few custom roms based on official Samsung KitKat. At this very moment, CM builds are not supported by the new bootloader. Don't flash them again.

So I should wait for future cyanogenmod builds or am I stuck forever on touchwiz?
I'm asking myself the same thing...crap I flashed that so fast , even if it works not too bad CM will always be best.

I think the CM guys will solve this boot loader problem finally. Just wait for a while. During this time you could search some simplistic custom rom based on Samsung stock one, which are also pretty good.
Any help appreciated. I've had this problem for half a year now but I've been dealing with it by just using the .48 radio with every version of JellyBean I've had. But now since SlimKat (my fav ROM) stable KitKat ROM is available I flashed it to my phone but it won't work with .48 radio firmware. Stock KitKat won't work too, at least with my phone.
So I use JellyBean for now and .48 radio. And whenever I flash any radio newer than .48, the phone is stuck at boot animation and it doesn't matter what OS I have: it happens with stock and any custom firmware, be it 4.3 or 4.4.
The things I already did to recover from this problem:
1. Flashed stock 4.2.2 via fastboot and updated it via OTA to 4.3. Phone is stuck at boot animation, becasue OTA updated radio to newer than .48.
2. Flashed stock 4.3 via fastboot. Same as above.
3. Flashed stock 4.4.2 via fastboot. Same as above.
4. Relocked bootloader. Doesn't fix anything.
5. Wiped everything using stock and also custom recoveries. Same as above.
6. Manually fastboot flashed all radios newer than .48. They won't work with any ROMs/stock firmware I've had.
7. Used various custom ROMs. Won't work with any radio newer than .48.
8. Removed sim card. No difference.
Is there any method of factory resetting nexus 4 other than flashing stock firmware with fastboot? Any LG tool similar to Samsung's Odin?
Funny thing is I had a newer radio than .48 half a year ago. All worked well until I tried to play a Doom 3 game on my phone. When I launched the app my phone rebooted all of a sudden and was stuck at boot animation. Somehow I figured to flash older radio and the phone began to boot but it didn't work with any newer radio since then. I don't know what might have happened to my modem by just launching a doom 3 game, but here it is...
Does your phone show the correct base band and imei on 4.2.2?
So you have already tried to flash factory image with a toolkit like unified toolkit. If so have you wipe all of your data? Because this is important when flashing a factory image.

I didn't use any toolkit. I flashed the factory images manually via fastboot commands. I also used the "flash-all.bat" file that comes with the factory images. It din't help either. And yes, I also wiped data in both stock and custom recoveries after flashing factory images. If I wanted to wipe data in custom recovery (in hope it would help), I would then just flash it and wipe after flashing factory firmware.
EDIT:
Is there a way to completely wipe the device clean / factory reset but not with fastboot? I mean clean it as thorough as posible. Sth like it's with Samsung phones - Odin. The most low level format there is.
I suggest that you give wugfresh a try.
May be this will help you to upgrade to 4.3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/radio-84-causing-phone-bootloop-t2476192
I strongly suggest you to download ANDROSENSOR from play store to check your sensors. Probably sensor chip is gone.

Which S4 variant do you have?
What firmware was your latest official one and which one did you try to flash now?
More information please...
Did you check this guide? (But only for 9500/9505)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
And especially this part of it?
"Odin troubleshooting:*If Odin accidentally gives you "fail" try the following:
- Repeat procedure.
- Make sure that all actions of Kies are disabled from task manager.
- Change usb port.
- Try another usb cable (make sure it is the original).
- Try another Odin version.
- Uninstall and re-install driver.
- Use pit file.
- Try another computer."

What does Odin say in the log text?

Hi guys
So I flashed the NK4 KitKat ROM over the Lollipop ROM I had as I can't stand certain things in Lollipop. Now that I have flashed my Note 4 N910F is sitting at the Samsung Boot screen, the LED is doing the usual changing of colors and that splash behind Samsung keeps going on, but it isn't getting out of it, it seems to be heating up to, is it just taking time optimizing for KitKat or is it Softbricked? Seems to be stuck on boot screen.
Did you hard reset before and after downgrade that's important .
Do hard reset from recovery

Thanks, I did that shortly after posting this, all up and running again. Thanks a lot
Did you just flashed nk4 with Odin? Or custom rom? @1980aksoy anyway can I just download 4.4.4 for n910f from sammobile and dirty downgrade with Odin? Or should I wipe before and after Odin flash?
Gesendet von meinem SM-N910F mit Tapatalk
I flashed oldest 1 first NJ4' Then upgrade to NK4 via kies
Before do anything hard reset is necessary .
(Download NJ4 from sammobile then hard reset your device' install via odin wait for device completely boot up then hard reset again then do your personal settings
Connect to kies update To NK4
I just flashed TWRP for the first time but it comes up with "Unmodified System Partition" but touchscreen doesn't work for some reason so I cant select anything. I tried removing the battery and rebooting my phone (Galaxy S4 19505) But it just boots back into recovery for TWRP in the "Unmodified System Partition" . Please Help, thanks.
Edit: Should I delete the TWRP disk image from my pc? (My phone also keeps vibrating while turned off). I have also noticed that there is a non physical home back and menue button, did I download the wrong version? I used the TWRP app to download and flash the image.

How do I update baseband? I cant find it anywhere
baseband should be somewhere on xda, if you can't find it than try different bootloader ,latest one

I recommend using Odin to flash the latest stock rom to the phone. Then, check to ensure the phone is working properly.
