[Q] Transparent status bar? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hi,
Does anyone know how to set the status bar to transparent with the rooted stock rom? The only way to get a transparent status bar at the moment is by using one of the samsung wallpapers with touchwiz launcher. Setting your own wallpaper breaks the transparency in both touchwiz and Nova launcher.
There is a mod floating around in the GSM S4 forums, but I'm not sure if it will work for our phones.
Thanks!

It's in the works. Having some issues with apktool. Just sit tight. Hopefully by tomorrow :thumbup::thumbup:

[Q] Expand lock screen widgets

Hi All,
I finally made the jump and bought a Nexus 7 even tho we will most likely see a newer version in May. However it is still freakin awesome! I am running CM 10.1 nightly's but cannot expand the lock screen widgets. Is this possible? I love that new Dashclock widget for the lock screen but it will only show me two of my selected options before it cuts off because I am unable to expand the widget.
I use it on the Note 2 (also running CM10.1) and it works great. Anyone know something that I may have missed?
Thanks in advance
-Chris
I actually forgot how it's done. I remember I did it once on 4.2 but never again could I expand the widgets to maximum size again on 4.2.1 and 4.2.2
Hi there,
Have you tried Apex Launcher?
I dunno for sure, but maybe, and just maybe you can re-size and customize the lock screen widgets.
Hope this helps

I did! That's what I thought but looks like it's built into CM 10.1. but not in the grouper builds i guess.
Swipe down on the widget. From the clock

It doesn't behave the same way my Note 2 build does.Only thing I can do is delete or add widget. no re-sizing (that I can see or get to work) .
It really is strange then. Maybe if you pm your Rom dev for some q & a.

Request: Transparent Weather Widget

I know there was one floating around for the E4GT, but I'm guessing it's not compatible with the S4.
Would anyone with experience modifying apps and/or theming be willing to teach me how to make the Accuweather Widget transparent?

I don't think you can but today I used the 1weather app and after you add the widget you can customize the Opacity making it very transparent at 0%.

This should work for you, dont think it matters about carriers for it, its not a flashable zip so will have to copy it to /system/app

OK this one is kind of easy doesn't need any XML edits, all I did was edit the images

I'm watching this with great interest. I too want a transparent weather widget and I wonder why it's not an option? when you select a folder on the home screen the widget DOES go transparent. See the attached screenshot. So it seems that there should be somewhere within the XML to turn this on all the time?
You guys still want a transparent weather widget lol? Just cause I love u guys
Gimme a few seconds and i'll upload it
Here you go guys, Finally lol!

you can MAKE that happen. use this app.
so basically you will need to
1) install the framework from here:
2) then the app itself from here
3) then click launcher
4) then check "use small icons and larger grid"
profit.
That works but isn't what I'm looking for.. I would like the 4x5..

What is it that you find breaks the TW experience with the launchers? To me, the look and feel is almost the same. Slightly different app/widget drawers and menu on the main screen, but that's about it.
Damn nova Launcher is amazing! Ha. Never thought I would like another Launcher..

Yes, I'm using Nova beta and the nav and status bars are transparent and look great. I also changed the battery icon and quick settings.
