[Q] Rooting access - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey every one ..
I'm new to android .. and i was wondering if i opened the root access to my mobile without changing anything .. just to have a backup and to hack into games ..
Do i still have OTA updates or not ??
one thing more .. can i restore the LOCKED states on the bootloader ? , not the relocked .. but locked as a fresh new stock device ??

4.3 OTA update , verification failed

Having n7 (2012) , stock 4.2.2 , unlocked bootloader , rooted , recovery-cwm .. So , today checked for the 4.3 update through settings>about>system updates an found the 4.3 one , downloaded it .. but after downloading 100 % , it says verification failed .. tried downloading a couple of times , still the same issue . Solutions please ? .... and could it be that not having the stock recovery causes it ... or anything like that ?
P.S. - went through a same kinda thread for a user updating to 4.2.2 from 4.1.2 .. but couldn't find any clear solutions !

-Root it, triangle away, unroot it, might just work.
-If the method above didn't work, it's probably Knox messing with u and u wouldn't be able to flash any anything even if u wanted to.
-For the Note 3 I would say yes.

Just download a full firmware and flash it through odin. Simple and u don't need headache.
for upgrade cross firmware (different base), advisable to do fullwipe. In upgrade to KK, full wipe will lessen ur headache about some FC/some apps not working/huge battery drain.
ur choice to make.
Yes update worth it. My battery can last almost 2 days with 3-4 hrs screen on.

Flashed desire 820s with lolipop successfully without rooting my device

Hi
Exactly as the title says : Flashed desire 820s with lolipop successfully without rooting my device
Is this ok ?
I'm running lolipop and sense 7.0 but when i try to use some apps from google play such as kernel editor which require root ... I get a nessage saying no root found ... Or device is not rooted .. Something like that .....
My question is ... ( is this ok to not being rooted whereas i already flashed a custom rom through a link on the web ) or should i roit my device ?
What if at a later time the next update like marshmallo is released ... Will i be able to update my device with it ?
Thanks
No reply ??????????
what are you talkin about exactly?!
you can either root or not root but either way if you are on cutom rom, you cant update via ota
Where did you get the lollipop custom rom from? How stable is it?

From a website ... It is very stable .. But the radio has gone .. And the option to auto turn off and auto turn on has gone too .. I do not like this lolipop update
