Has anyone else had an issue with s-voice not working? Mine opens fine, takes the voice command, acknowledges it, and then black screen and crash. I've rooted and disabled all the AT&T labeled apps in TiBu and that's it. Any input on troubleshooting would be great!

That's exactly your issue by experience, you can't disable chatOn, somehow it is needed food S voice to work, if you removed them you still need to restore with Kies or Odin, if you didn't remove them, then unfreeze them.
Yeah I had removed them in TiBu and then restored them, but the problems persist. Right after I posted the thread I read another with the same problem. So, right now I'm in the middle of a reset.

Tryng to restore them after been removed doesn't work , like I mentioned before, the same happened to me, it seems that once you remove them something gets corrupted in the shared apps and it doesn't get fixed restoring those apps back in order to fox you must restore with Kies or Odin. but don't worry, you won't lose your data, settings and apps, you will get all the original apps back just re-root, and this time just remove the rest but these ones.

Question, Im getting alot of "com.google.process.gapps" force closes on my EVO since I restored a few apps thru Titanium Backup. I rooted about a week ago and never had any issues with this. The only apps that I restored was angry birds and a to-do-list app along with all the data that came with the apps. I have tried cleaning caches and restarting the phone and nothing seems to work... what would you suggest? I seen a few threads when i searched - but they were for the G1 and the Captivate, nothing for the EVO... any help would be appriciated...
TIA

Did u flash any Rom or Theme??
nope, I rooted and am still using the stock ROM... I was going to flash Frost or some thing, but I want to make sure this doesnt carry over to the flashed ROM, or if there is a fix...I would prefere to fix it...
I am also getting a force close on the phone process.... when some one calls me and I ignore the call it force closes the process for the phone as well...
Try reinstalling the gapps.apk. One of them must of been corrupted by the data you restored.
do you know where I can find that at? I have never heard of it...
Also the thing that is confusing, is I can still access my market, maps, latitude, people, gmail... etc
If the apk or files were corrupted, I wouldnt be able to access those apps... i will try to reinstall the apk, but I would like to know what I did to make this error happen, so I know not to do it again...
one thing I think it could have been was there were two "people" files in my Titanium Back up... One was up near the top it said "People 1.00" and then there was one near the bottom with a line thru it that said "People 1.1.1" or some thing to that effect... I deleted the one at the bottom with the line thru it cause I thought I didnt need it any more... could this be wahts up with this error?
I can still access People thru the People widget, but some times it takes abnormally longer to load my list of contacts...
I can also still access Market, Gmail, Maps, Latitude...
I just clciked on Talk and it seems to be the problem, every time I click Talk it brings up the force close issue...
should I just reinstall the Talk.apk?
I also get "com.android.phone" force close when I decline a call...
when I went into my ROM manager, I clicked the "fix permissions" and it says "error occurred while attempting to run privlaged commands"
Any info on any of this would be great...
Anyone out there
Sent from my EVO while tethered into the Matrix thru Wifi...
Okay well I have googled/searched XDA 'til I was green in the face... I still can't figure out how to fix this issue?
Just answer me this, If I do an entire factory reset - will I loose root?
I have wiped the cache thru recovery, Should I try wiping the delvic-cache also, before I factory reset to see if that works??
I can not find any where to download the "gapps.apk" anywhere, I found this one thread that told me to install these in this order:
1. TalkProvider.apk
2. GTalkService.apk
3. Talk.apk
but none of them worked... they wouldnt even install... it just kept saying install failed...so I found another thread with the 2.2 gtalk and it installed...but Im still getting the error...
I have been getting several other errors, like htc.bgp force close (or some thing like that) as well as com.android.phone force close...
So should I just do a NAND restore or should I do a factory reset instead? OR should I run the RUU and start over to root...??
I am at wits end here and am not getting anywhere with searching...
TIA
I would start with a NAND restore. (Hopefully you have one from before the problem started)
If that doesn't fix it, do a factory reset.
If that doesn't fix it, Factory reset and instal a custom ROM (Sprint Lovers is very close to stock if that's what you like)
I don't think running an RUU is necessary. Once you obtain full Root, you should be able to fix any problem with .apk's or programs on the phone.

Thanks for the input, I was beginning to think I was invisible... lol... I will try that and see what happens...
Well, I went ahead and tried one more thing before I did what you said to do and I think it worked... I went into my EVO while in Disk Drive mode and I cut my entire Titanium Backup folder out of the phone and copied it onto my Desk top. Then I went into my OLD EVO files from the end of the year and I copied the latest folder into my phone. I then went to Charge only, clicked TB and refreshed the app list... Then I was left with a ton of apps that were not installed on my phone. I then went thru each one and restored the ones that were still installed and deleted the ones that were not... (except for the stock apps that came with the phone), so far so good... I will test it more tonight and see whats up, have not gotten any force closes since I finished...
One thing I would like to know tho - where can I get the stock dialer.apk
Some how it got deleted off my new EVO and when I try to load up one of the htc.dialer.apk from my old EVO - the new one does not recognize it... I am currently useing "dialer one" from the market - but I would prefere to make my NAND back up of the Official stock ROM with all the stock apps...any ideas?
EDIT: Okay, fixed the com.google.process.apps issue but did not fix the other force closes... I guess I will have to try the steps above - and worse case - ill just run the RUU and start all over...
I had this problem once and it was related to a widget I downloaded that retrieved missed calls. Don't know if that helps.

But thats the thing - I didnt download anything - I restored two apps, one was opera mini with data and the other was spareparts... then I lost my htc dialer - so I installed Dialer one from the market... I dunno Im just gonna have to do the stpes above and if they dont work - Ill just wipe and run RUU and reroot... no biggie...
Okay I did a NAND restore... then I went thru and set up ALL my apps and settings again and then I did a fresh NAND Backup with clockwork first AND then Amon_Ra... all seemed well except, after I did the Clockwork Backup... I was getting "com.smithmicro.DM has stopped unexpectedly" so searched and read a little and it seemed to have some thing to do with the PRL/Profile updater... so i went into the settings and opened the app manager and cleared the "data" in com.smithmicro.DM and then I restarted the phone and that seemed to fix it... thanks for all the help...

So I updated from stock 1.83, unlocked and rooted. It is now impossible to add a new contact. I get "The application Contacts Storage (process com.motorola.contacts) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
Is anyone else having this issue? Are there any fixes out there that I'm unaware of?
Nope

I just tried and it worked perfectly for me. Although when asked I selected Google contacts as my default storage... I don't use blur. Oh, and my phone was brought up the same as yours 1.83 Unlocked and Rooted -> 4.1.91 Unlocked and Rooted.
Did you wipe everything when you installed via CWM? I always manually wipe everything.
Same here. No issues adding. 4591 stock (no going back!), rooted, unlocked bl.

I updated to 1.91 via update.zip and did not wipe anything since it wasn't rooted/unlocked. When I try to go into the settings in contacts and change where my contacts are stored, I get force closed again.
Not sure what the problem is , and with all the issues reflashing sbf's and bricking, I don't feel like trying any of that out.

Hate to say this but you may need to do a factory reset. Most likely it will be the only way to fix it.
Back up your standard apps (no system settings or apps ) and then do the wipe.

I would have to agree with this assessment. I flashed to beta 4.5 and did a TB restore and the phone was very unresponsive and took 2-4 minutes to boot. Many apps were not even working. I performed a Data wipe/factory reset and cache wipe to fix it.
Ok, fixed it. I'm an idiot. Froze some stuff with TBU. Of all things, it was Yahoo! Mail Authenticator 2.3.4 that was screwing it up.
Thanks for the suggestions, mods feel free to close this thread.
Pieces of the motoblur social apps I had frozen caused this for me too .. I'm just letting everything run without freezing anything until the final release and towing a generator behind me to keep the battery going
My phone work perfect. I install it by using fastboot. I think some phone have issue with clockwork recovery.
I restored "Contact Storage 2.3.4" with TiB and it stopped the FC and its working fine now.
Anyone got any suggestions about the radio not locking to HSPA+ signal and the GPS shows 0 feet error in GPS Status?

To preface,
I'm running an AT&T LG G2 rooted (with a couple of Xposed modules). I'm running 4.2.2
Today, I rebooted my phone after updating some apps from the play store, and then all hell broke loose. Here's a list of what went wrong
1) ALL of my settings were reset. Sound settings, call settings, screen on settings, etc. EVERYTHING.
2) My home button doesn't work. It lights up - it knows I pressed it, but it doesn't send me to the launcher. I have the home button programmed through Nova Launcher to open my voice search when I'm on the home screen - that doesn't work either.
3) My notifications panel stays empty - nothing shows up. On top of that, the little "gear" icon that should take me to settings doesn't work. There's a gear setting above that for sound that DOES work.
4) When I go to "About Phone", my phone name was reset to "G2".
4) Here's the kicker - When I go to "About Phone", the "Software Update" button has disappeared. What the hell happened?
If anybody can solve this issue, I have a small bitcoin prize for you...
Edit: Noticed something new. I went into Titanium Backup and it gave me a notification that my "Device ID" was changed. It states that this commonly occurs after a factory reset or ROM change? Here's the thing - I've never factory resetted my phone or even installed a recovery for that matter.
Notice #2: Volume keys don't respond. Although changing volume manually through the settings does work.
Quick note: I changed a value in settings.db using SQLite manager. I tried changing "tether_entitlement_check_state" to 0. And then I exported the DB and saved it. Would that have caused an issue?
well all hell really did break loose here, have you tried entering download mode and flash back to stock(I'm pretty sure this isn't you want to do) but it might be the only thing to do

Interesting. Thanks for the link. I wonder, other than hiding the "root" flags, how is this different from performing a factory reset? I would be opting to restore 4.2.2, not Kit Kat.

well tis is different to a factory reset as in it makes everything the way it used to be like if you were just powering on your phone for the first time while with a factory reset- if you have lets say deleted bloat and modified anything in the /system or other areas they are gone forever, the factory reset is more like a wipe your phone and start again(sometimes if you are rooted it remains rooted just without the su app)

I'm pretty sure it does but I have always had doubts about that(I usually always wipe with custom recovery so I don't remember when was the last time I used factory reset option, plus I upload a most of my backups into onedrive/goole drive/dropbox) also using the flash to stock method will wipe everything from the phone like I said its like powering it on for the first time just in case you were wondering

Okay, so here's my plan. I'm currently ADB pulling my entire SD card (with the titanium backup contents) onto my laptop. I plan to factory reset (the default android one that's in the settings). If that doesn't work, I will use the other flash-to-stock method.
Once I'm done, I plan to use Titanium backup to restore everything including settings. Here's my question:
When I'm restoring everything, will it be 1-click? In the past when I had other phones, the only time I restored TB was when I flashed different ROMs, so it caused havoc with my settings. Since I'm keeping the stock-ROM software, will I be able to 1-click "Restore" and have everything be how it used to be (Except for the Xposed Modules of course) ?
Also...I really don't like how MTP hides the Titanium Backup folder...

Referring to TB, you can set it to restore your backups with 1 click through "batch mode", but I believe you need to have the paid version.
Anyway, everything's fixed! I actually just put a recovery on it, and then deleted data and cache. That way my internal sd card didn't get wiped.
And I did a little more searching, it seems like modifying the sqlite database when you try to remove AT&T's tethering check causes the weird issue. I wonder if it's a secret backdoor program that makes your phone unusable...

Any other way to set up wireless tether? I've read that most wireless tether apps don't work. I haven't actually tried, but is that true?
First thread here
I used cf auto root specifically for my device from the autoroot chainfire website just to delete bloatware like galaxy apps, S health. I didn't delete Touchwiz
Everything was fine and dandy for a few days until my phone starts crashing when browsing youtube, facebook etc.
recovery screen said it was due to 'dm-verity verification failed'
Browsing the forums, apparently flashing it with the stock rom should solve the issue. It didn't though
I flashed it and rooted it again and the problems persist
I'm lucky I backed up my data. It's just annoying having to restore everything once my phone boot loops.
What seems to cause it?
Because it's not clear from your thread, I've got a question:
After you flashed the ROM and rooted it again, did you remove the bloatware again, just as before?

So the problem is caused by removing the bloatware. Because of the programming of the bloatware and the ROM itself (they are kinda "linked" to each other), it can brake your system, just as in your case.
How did you remove the bloatware? Did you use an app? Maybe we can find a way removing it without killing your system.

Did you flash the proper stock ROM for you device? Where did you get it from? I guess that something went wrong while flashing. A factory reset could solve it, but flashing the stock ROM should have resolved the issue already if the bootloop was caused by removing the bloatware - that's what surprises me.

Hi sorry for necroing and leaving a late reply
I used the Singapore starhub android 6.0.1 rom the device came with
I reflashed it and did a factory reset 3 weeks ago
Replaced battery as well
Worked fine for the time being
Then out of a sudden a boot loop occurred while I was on data
What's the cause of this?
I'm frankly tired of having to reflash the rom over and over again as well as restoring backups
I'd go for a full, clean install of stock (format /data from TWRP. Yes, a full format! Make sure you backup your media as this will erase absolutely everything.) and then flash stock with Odin.
Test it out see if it still has problems or if it's stable.
DO NOT RESTORE APPS FROM TITANIUM BACKUP
Re-download them from scratch.
I've noticed that I used to get random re-boots after restoring backed up apps from Titanium Backup.
Went ahead and started the phone over from absolute 0 and it seems my problem went away.
As stated in the title, I can't load any web pages in Chrome, Firefox, and several other browsers. My wifi is fully functional, but I can't load anything related to web pages. So using the XDA App, I can browse the fourms fine, but if I were to open a link to Google or anything, it will crash and return to the XDA App. This occurs when I try opening links from apps like Facebook as well.
At first, I thought this was a ROM problem or something to do with my apps, so I format and decrypted my phone and clean flashed OOS 5.0.4. It seems to work well for some time, but returned a good hour later. Restarting each time it happens seems to fix it for a short while, but I am quite annoyed of constantly restarting because of this.
I've searched around and it doesn't seem like anyone else has this particular problem with their OP5s so I'd like to fix this up if I can.
I am still on OOS 5.0.4, but now with NewKernel 1.29 from the OP5T thread. I'm also rooted with Magisk beta v16.2 and have the Pixel 2 Oreo WiFi v4, OnePlus Camera M, NotoColorEmoji Patch Modules along with a systemless font module installed.

Yeah, each time it happens I try swapping from WiFi to data, but no difference. I'm currently trying to see if it was due to restoring a certain backup from Titanium Backup. I did recently find a post speaking of the problem, but for the use of debloater somehow affecting it. So it may also be due to the loss a system app.

I feel like an idiot for not remembering about doing that.
I've clean flashed and left all the apps enabled and the problem hasn't appeared again. After taking a TWRP backup of that (just in case I mess up something again) I rooted without any modules other than the WiFi Mod(which I did feel like it being one of the causes, but it helped with connection speed) and the systemless font module and tried restoring only user app data(so a fresh install from the play store and then a app data restore, not touching system apps at all) and thankfully it didn't cause any problems, so I got to restore some data back.
Thank you for the advice of actually just clean flashing again, cause I was actually slowly uninstalling and restoring my apps. I apologise for not posting as soon as I found the fully clean installation working, as I really couldn't help myself and try see if it was due to having root and my user apps. Once again, thank you for your help with my problem here. If it appears again, I'll probably post here again if it happens again (hopefully it doesn't).
