I'm currently doing a research on IPCs in Linux and Android.
I've found out that Android have this "ashmem", and I would like to know about MemoryFile in Android.
Can anyone help me or give me a sample tutorial that step-by-step explains MemoryFile in Android?

Hello all I am currently in the process of learning the android os and am in need of a bit of help from you "Non-Android Noobs"
1.Would installation of the android sdk be the first step in my learning android process?
2.Installing Eclipse as per prerequisite in installing the Android sdk, so there are quite a few eclipse options to choose from. Which do I need?
Thx to all for any help.
EDIT: I actually just realised that I posted in the wrong place, mod pls move and sorry bout that
I use the 99m one,Eclipse IDE for Java Developers.
Maybe you need some books to find the detail.
I'm a beginner.
I purchased a HTC Touch HD T8282 and would like to know how to begin the process of changing the operating system of Windows Mobile to Android 2.2
I've been reading several posts about it but can not find what would be a complete guide or set of steps I should follow to install Android.
I wonder if I can install version 2.2 and the files I need.
The truth is that I prefer Android to Windows.
Someone could help me?

Hi ,
I want to start writing applications for android but I don`t have any experience with java programing or C++. would you tell me how could I start? for example, any special book or website which contains tutorials from the very first steps?
This will probably be the most helpful book you can get - http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/android-application-development-for-dummies-cheat-.html
I've also uploaded a few of my university lectures on Java, along with some android tutorials as well - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=854462
Hope this helps
To answer the question that everyone is thinking as they click on this thread... Yes, I am a noob.
Anyway, I downloaded the Android Kitchen and installed it on a Linux Ubuntu Virtual Machine on my Macbook using VMWare Fusion and i watched a video from theunlockr, but all it really let me do was add in apps, change the rom name and give it a few features but no visual customizations... If i posted a link of the "My ROM" no one would be able to tell a difference in the rom i planned on starting from.
Let me know if there is a different way to create that is actually making ROMs or customizing the ROM in it's entirety instead of small unnoticeable features, let me know if I'm just doing something wrong in my Android Kitchen and let me know if theres an easy way to develop ROMs on Mac without Virtual Machines. (The last one isn't a big worry because linux is very lightweight and runs fine on my computer but please help me on the other two questions)
Thanks in advance,

Hi Guys,Please i have been searching for a solution as regards changing my winmo's http header contents but no luck.
Furthermore, there are quite a few similar apps on windows xp,vista and 7 working flawlessly ie (proxifier,charles-proxy,proximitron[best] and some others).
i was wondering if our XDa-Gurus could help in porting this apps from .exe to . cab to work on winmo.
kind regards,
Zibamstereo
If you manage to solve this please post here, because I'm interested too.
Ok Bro ..its like no one here wants to help or this question has been regarded as "frivolous".
Eithier way i found a clue but not a complete solution..a mobile proxifier app encompassing the features mentioned above.
However, the app is built using python programming and hence a barrier.i hope win-mo supports python so i can try porting the app to win-mo because it is based on a symbian platform.as soon as i succeed i will attach the required files here.any external help would be appreciated as well
Warm regards,
Zibamstereo
