that link you gave me is just some guy referencing to a leaked system dump.

honestly it might be a tad smoother but the notification widgets from 4.2.2 sexy in its own class lol
I want 4.2.2 just for the way it handles notifications. I don't have to run sense launcher.
I wished they would simply jump on 4.3 or whatever is next . They surely have code running on their devices by now.
From my HTC One, right in your face....

Meh. If there is a thread of same subject you should post your video there. It's of the same leak after all. Now there's two.

When Google announced 4.3 there was a sideline in the article that HTC would also be at the event demonstrating 4.3 devices.

This should be kept in the general threads. A mod will probably merge it with other 2.1 rumors. You are about the 3rd person to start a thread with a reference to this engadget article.

Its exciting because we'll have custom 2.1 roms based on the official 2.1 firmware for OUR phones, instead of just a leak.

What is this nonsense that people keep saying?
Prior to the MR I had a phone that couldn't output stereo sound through headphones, would randomly miss text messages (that would disappear forever, even after rebooting--a ridiculously serious problem), would stay awake 100% of the time and had terrible battery life, didn't have an easy way to switch calls back and forth from speakerphone, and an unreliable camera that failed to focus most of the time.
What issues are you talking about that were newly introduced? They certainly weren't worse than the ones that I listed above because I haven't noticed any.
Guys, the source of this article is the XDA forum!! Their info isn't any more "official" than our own!

that would be gizmodo
I was in best buy earlier and the two girls working mobile were joking around and not busy at all. So of course I had to go over and start chatting with them. It was my duty as a guy right??? Anyway, I figured that since I had seen this best buy screenshot I would bring it up. They both looked at me like I was crazy. One of them said that the Sprint Hero will never be upgraded to 2.1 and that Sprint and HTC never said it would be. She said the Hero that looks funny, like has the funny looking bottom that is like the g1, that version will get the update someday.
Anyway, I told her I had seen the screen shot from the best buy intraweb so she looked on her computer and said nope, no info on any 2.1 upgrade for the herol.
It'll happen when it does, I don't trust any of the leaks anymore. Just happy I have 2.1 now and it works for me.

I hope GB is better on the Tab than it is on my Nexus One. I have not posted any issues in the N1 forums, but there are some quirks that bug the crap out of me! I know, wrong thread to complain about my N1, but my point is that hopefully the experience is better on the Tab.
Isnt thepicture photoshopped?
looking at i closely it does kind of look edited..particularly in the upper segments where the text appears clearer, when the reflection should make it even more blurry...hmm..

It does look kinda photo shopped, but then again, so does a majority of photos like this that get released about firmwares.
I for one believe that this is real. Every Gingerbread Tab photo/screenshot have been from Taiwan/Asia. Hopefully it'll start being rolled out.

I really want that korean or asian firmware. From my experience with samsung devices. Asian firmwares are snappier as they dont come packed with bloatware for euro firmware. Has no drm (usually dunno about the tab). Has better support with linux.
Maybe a stupid question, but is there an estimate for the launch of 2.3 for the SGT?

Early 2012 we will have Gingerbread.4, remember, we have to wait for too long for Gingerbread.
is there any news about the update of official ICS?
it is the almost the end of Q3. anyone get news from Moto? we have wait for a long long long long time...can it be released in this month?
Have you not looked at any of the other threads talking about ics? Nothing is out and nothing is known. The second there is a leak or any new info this place will probably explode.

I'd rather HTC skip 4.2.2 and go directly to 4.3
HTC is doing a developer presentation at the Google I/O for features not available on 4.2.2... A number of sites suggested that this means these features will be included in 4.3. But this also means HTC has access to the code of the next Android revision, and hopefully this mean they are already working on a 4.3 update for the One.

Never, the latest releases are always reserved for Nexus devices, plus thanks to HTC bloatware it'll take months of work to overload it. I'll wait for the 4.3 AOKP for One.
