How do I turn off the sound? Everytime I type in a url it says "loading started" and "page loaded". Don't know how to disable it.

It's a bug with accessibility - you either need to disable any accessibility settings (for most people, it's Lightflow that's been installed and been enabled in accessibility which triggers it, but it can be anything), or you have to disable the Text To Speech.

i like handcent n do not want the led to continue blinking after sms read frm handcent, i always had to clear the message frm the notification bar.
anyone can advise if it is possible to disable the default messaging app?
thanks.....
Hi - I don't think you need to disable the app to do what you want.. am I reading you right if I say that you don't want the default message app NOTIFICATIONS? if that's right then you can switch that off within the default message app settings menu.

Where is that Option?
@techgurux10 - Really?.. ok.. Messaging app.. menu button.. settings.. notification settings section near the bottom - deselect the "notifications" option..
Ok, I know it should be easy.. but how the hell do i turn off the vibrate function with the stock message app? tried going through the menu and no option there...
it's driving me a bit potty... any help?
Do you mean the vibration you get when writing a message or when you recieve a message?
I can't give you a direct answer as I don't have the phone yet, however if there isn't a setting that enables you to remove the vibration, I used an application on the marketplace called Streak Vibrations (requires root) that globally disables and enables vibration on the phone. Worked wonders on my old Atrix.

I believe that you just have to disable the vibration for notifications to disable it for the message app. Running stock I do not believe that you can pick and choose what notifications get to vibrate. More of an all or nothing type deal.
Now if you root thats a different story, not to mention once some custom roms start rolling out
Settings > Sound > under general, select Vibration then select never. Vibration alerts will still work for Gmail notifications if you have it set that way in the Gmail app.
I have Apex launcher installed and I enabled "keep in memory" which keeps a notification on all the time.
I goto settings, application settings and untick "show notifications" but after a reboot the notification appears again?

The app that you use to see your balance and such, every time I check to see data, I keep seeing the same message in alerts, about welcoming me and such. I swipe it every time and it comes back to haunt me. Anyone know how to get rid of it permanently?
Menu, app settings in t-mobile app

Download "Package Disabler Pro" then disable all "TMobile" packages - profit.
Menu > App Setting > "Allow notification tray alerts" - Uncheck it
I would also turn off Diagnostics.
Is there a way to get the notifications on the "Always On" screen if I use an alternate messaging app, like Textra? Thanks!
nope.
this is pretty frustrating. i left the native app alone and it still doesn't show notifications. so it must not show just because the native app isn't set as default.
