hi all...
the lock screen on my hd2 has gone missing... pressing the red button directly brings me into the sense UI... any suggestions what went wrong?
thanks!
any help with above issue pls?
Have you recently installed then uninstalled a custom lockscreen? Look at my sticky (link in my sig) and towards the bottom of the first post you'll see some attached cabs. download the one that says Lockscreen HD2 original then install it. It should bring you back to normal.

hi there...
i did stumble upon your sticky and downloaded the lockscreen HD2 original cab file yesterday itself. I have soft reset the device after the installation but still there is no lock screen. Once the device boots up its directly in the Sense UI. Anything else I can do to fix OR might have done wrong?
Thanks for your input!
** Also, to answer your question, no i have not installed or uninstalled any custom lockscreen.. I am still in the learning stages of flashing a ROM and once I get comfortable with all the steps involved, I'll take the plunge but at this point the device is in stock condition except for the apps I have installed. Thanks

Thanks for the link - it kind of helped, which is to say - when i go to start menu and tap on "lock" it does lock the screen but after unlocking it when i press the red button to shut the display and again press it the lockscreen doesnt come up.. i'd hate to click twice before I press the red button only to make sure it doesnt come to life and call my aunt while in my pocket :-/
I tried reinstalling the cab from your sticky to the device (coz I wasnt sure where i had installed it previously) but the problem persists and No I havent installed any BSB or any other tweaks (atleast not intentionally)
So when you go to start , etc, then lock, after you unlock it you're presented with the lock screen Options. Are those set accordingly? Once set, it'll ask you to save changes, then click ok in top right corner.

Okay so here's what I do -
- tap on start menu
- bottom left soft key says "lock"
- tap on lock
- device lockscreen comes on
- now if i press the red button to switch off and then press it again, the lockscreen stays.
-but if i slide the lock on the lockscreen to reveal the sense UI, close the device and then switch it on again, it doesnt show me the lockscreen
does that help you help me?
thanks a ton for your patience!

Do you have cookies home tab/chteditor or bsb tweaks installed? If you do that might be causing the fail.

No I dont. I dont have any of those installed. I want to install the cookies but havent installed any mods yet. The only things I've installed on there are apps.
One of them being Resco Explorer which has a Task manager with it. Could that have made my screen disappear?

I don't think Resco Task Manager is the problem. I have it installed, and I still have the Lock screen that displays when I hit the red key.

Listen...
Once you go to the start menu, select SETTINGS. Then tap the MENU soft key in the bottom right and select ALL SETTINGS. You should see LOCK in the top-right. Tap it, this locks your screen. Immediately unlock. You are now at the LOCKSCREEN OPTIONS page. Set accordingly. Save. Tap OK in top right. Done. Drink a beer.

I already tried this before.. Tapping on the Lock icon in the "ALL SETTINGS" does not lock the screen. Instead, it directly takes me to the password screen (maybe what you referred to as lockscreen options) where my first choice is a checkbox for "Prompt if phone unused for ___ mins and the other option is to choose a password.
Yeah that's the stuff. That's where you enable it. Check the box, set the password (pin).
Sorry for not realizing you had been there. If setting and saving those options doesn't work, not sure what to tell you.
Are you connected to an exchange server?
(you have to make sure after you hit the obvious SAVE button that pops up, you have to hit the OK button in the top right the screen.)

Is anyone else having an issue with CM7 where the right combination of gestures or touches while cause the menu bar to disappear? I have no idea how to reproduce it, or how to recover from it (short of a reboot) but it's happened at least 4 times i as many weeks.
Just curious if something is corrupt with my install or if it's a common issue.
If the bar is just invisible (the buttons still work, but there are no graphics), just rotate the screen and they should come back.
If you've touched the double-chevron button and the status bar went away, an app has requested fullscreen mode and the chevrons grant the request. Hit "home" to get somewhere that isn't fullscreen. You can pick an "un-hide" button and do other similar things in Settings/Tablet Tweaks, look for "Disable Fullscreen" and "Choose unhide button".
If neither of the above holds, your statusbar has crashed. There's an app that's supposed to bring it back, but that never worked properly for me. I have to reboot.
This hasn't happened to me in recent nightlies, but I'm not positive that the problem is really gone yet.

I've had the menu bar disappear while certain apps were open, preventing me from accessing the app menu and had to use the 'n' button to get out. To get around this I am using Button Savior.

That's my situation. The status bar / buttons disappear, so I hit the physical home button (the N as in Nook button), but the bar is still gone. This was happening on 7.0.3... i just installed 7.1 RC1 and haven't had it happen yet... we'll see.

Go to Settings/CyanogenMod settings/Tablet Tweaks, and check to see that you have the "Disable fullscreen" option checked. That prevents apps from overriding the status bar visibility. Additionally, you can setup an "unhide" button in case you accidentally hit the chevron or otherwise lose the Tablet Tweaks status bar.

Because you say "menu bar" and later on say you press the N button and they are still missing I believe you are talking about the ADW menu buttons (the launcher and apps buttons). If that is what you are referrinng to then you should go into ADW settings and uncheck the hidden taskbar option. By default it is checked.
can reproduce it on my EVO
I found out how to make the menu disappear, but cannot make it reappear.
I have an EVO 4G (original supersonic) and I am able to make the bottom home menu disappear using a downward swipe. I've done this accidentally quite a few times. (I'm referring to the Phone/Square/World Icons that launch the primary apps)
However, I do not know how to make it come back. I have been able to swipe randomly and get it to reappear, but I do not know what combination actually causes this.
The only way I know how to bring it back for sure, is a reboot. I wish I knew what that swipe combination was to restore the menu

By "Menu Bar", do you mean the the Dock where you can access the App Drawer?
If this is it, then you just have to swipe it up. But to just to warn you, it is "VERY HARD" to get the right swipe for it to show again. Trust me, I tried. Best solution would be to disable the "HIDE" Capability of the Dockbar by going into Settings>ADWLauncher>UI Settings Go down to Hidden Dockbar and disable Dockbar.

hi guys , i do as this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800042
everything i done according to that thread , but when i turn on my nexus 7 , nothing happen ,
so i wonder ,if there some differents between our pads
and i already got rooted .
can you tell me why and what to do for the launcher rotation ?
thz!
Pull down the notification slide from the top of the screen.
Next to the time and date there should be a little icon. If it is a padlock, then press the icon to unlock rotation.
If not that then I can only assume you missed a step or maybe mis-typed something from the guide?
Why can't u use Nova or Apex for rotations???
I don't own a N7 but can't that be a easy solve???

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^

When I pull down the notification shade and tap edit it gives me the option to turn the quick connect bar off. I turn it off and tap done but it's still there. What does this toggle do? Is there another way to remove it?

It works for me. Keep in mind it only removes it when you first pull down the notification shade...if you pull it all the way down, it'll still be there.

Thank you! Is there any way to remove it completely? I'd rather not have two square inches of useless bloatware in my notification shade.

I don't think there is, unfortunately :\
hallo,is there a way to alert appears regularly on the lock screen, we can click and get to the home screen? I saw this APK file but forgot where?
This seems to be on stock Nougat firmware. I can double tap the notification area of Always On screen to wake the phone
Yes I know, but there is APK file All he does is send "notification" as soon as you tap it opens the Home screen. Quite simply, just that I do not remember who brought it here somewhere.
I had a tasker profile running to show empty notify icon through alert setting. So that I can double click the icon to wake pattern lock screen and then fingerprint to unlock works.

Try this...without pressing any button (for Edge users) .... just swiping edge screen (it should be activated) and then lightly touch the Home button to recognize fingerprints... [emoji6]

I hate that and lot slower than other methods. Double tap notification to unlock is lot faster and easier than pressing home button.

I suppose everyone has their own preference as I find it simpler to just press the home button. Wakes up screen and unlocks at the same time. Faster and easier for me.
