New firmware XXDME1 06.05.2013 - Galaxy Note II General

Hello everyone,
I just saw in samsung-updates.com the new firmware for eastern countries.
It has the same changelist as DMC3 and DMD2.. what's going on?

Everyone is working on 4.2.2

it seems the same as MC3 with the same changelist :silly:

I wonder why they would release a newer build for Thailand and Indonesia, XXDME1 (06.05.13) when XXDMD2 (18.04.13) hasn't long been out.
Maybe there were issues with the older build and have pushed this new one out to correct something

Flashed a few hours ago, not noticed any difference either way bit here an AnTuTu screen shot for benchmark junkies

Yes it's true, I'm from Indonesia, and the update before this made our video recording with no sound. But after I update it with the latest update, the video recording works as usual with the sound. Thank you Samsung! :good:

they only did THIS maquinabaja fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265887 or fixed it in some better way:laugh: ?

DME1 ROM
Just downloaded the DME1 from sammobile, tried it and it feels smoother ... I don't know why. The lockscreen reacts better than before.
Cheers

There was simply a single lib file was corrupted and no reason to believe there may be a better solution than replacing file. So it should be same as thread you mentioned.

ginerbread rolled out

Well got a surprise last night when i plugged my phone in the pc and kies came up with a firmware upgrade for my galaxy s .
firmware gingerbread nejvd
baseband i9000NEJV5
2.3.3
installed ok but only after doing a hard reset and wiped everything off my phone .
phone would not start up .it would only get to the operator logo 3 then turn off and try rebooting itself.
so far so good seems faster than froyo ,hope they have sorted out the microphone gain when recording a video expecially at a gig everything was very distorted before .
on the face of it all i can see different so far is the battery icon is slightly different ,
will play more in due course see what else is different

Not officially available. That's why all the current 2.3.5 NxS _custom_ ROMs come with a 2.3.4 fingerprint.
Still no sign of it... Not impressed

You could always build it from AOSP yourself and flash it.

Won't come before ICS anymore is MY guess, there's way too much to do to get it out to all NxS NON-4G versions with only minor improvements. Unless Google wants to seriously push Wallet within the next few months, but they don't have to atm.

Why do you think you need it? What issues that 2.3.5 resolves are affecting you?

I'd say the recent Android Browser Cross Application Scripting vulnerability demonstrated by IBM is something that I'd like to see get fixed and which is fixed in 2.3.5.

Galaxy S III 4.2.1 Port for our Note II

Hi there Fellow N7100 Note II Users
Since theres no rom this thread will be in general
I'm trying to port the 4.2.1 from SGS III
About the SDS you don't need to worry I'm using a secure kernel
but if your interested in help porting you can PM me!
So whats the progress?
So far it boots to the boot screen and there it stops.
i figured out i've missed some few things so i'll be fixing those later!
Once again if your interested in help porting give your time to reply and tell me what you can do
Best Regards LSD
EDIT: attached SGS III boot.img (http://www.mediafire.com/edit/?1nc7vr5ln6uy2hk)
EDIT: attached SGNII boot.img http://www.mediafire.com/?me2emfnsn0mgqd0
Also heres 3 "unpacked boot images"
Boot_NII is obviously extracted files from our Note II
Boot_SGSIII is obviously from leaked SGS III kernel
BOOT-EXTRACTED is from My Modified NII Kernel
i'm sure i've forgotten something but yet i'm not sure must read logcat more closely !

Great to see that someone is interested int his aswell
heres a logcat when it was booting into boot screen http://www.mediafire.com/edit/?1nc7vr5ln6uy2hk
some changes was made in samsung boot.img
but that didn't seem to make it, maybe i need a kernel which works with JellyBean 4.2?
Hmm seems like i used old kernel instead of using the modified kernel. maybe thats why it didn't boot so far .
Did any of the custom kernels needed to be modified to work under 4.2.1?
It is saying access denied, maybe upload it to pastebin or as a file?
Btw got it working by removing edit from the link

But why? Official 4.2.2 is coming in 2 weeks from Samsung.

You are actually right. We won't feel much of a difference. It is too big a project. Samsung will release 4.2.2 sooner or later so there is no point. But i am idle due to summer holidays so nothing bad in challenging myself.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Yeah, but it should have at least one or two pros at least to be worthy of such an effort? Because essentially 4.2.1 on N2 is much more feature rich than S3, from what I gather. And you'd miss out on some N2 features as well.
I would like to test the rom if you are after testers when you have something working ^_^

well i modified bootclasspath but it seems to be something else that might be missing, maybe wrong permissions etc, or lack of files. can't really say now i'm trying to make it boot but seems like i've missed something in boot image or i've missed some files sadly when i used some other files it didn't go past the samsung galaxy note II splash screen. but i'll look into it. i think its kernel related, and yet i can't fix that now since i got to restore my phone so i can make my flashable zip tested. or i can but i need to take my time for that.
i neither don't know if anything have changed in 4.1>4.2 if there's something thats need to be added but i think it shouldn't be any big problem
Guys... the developer probably know there is a 4.2.2 coming. With all my respect for you, please do not repeat it again.
To the developer, keep it up! It would be very happy to test out some 4.2 a week befour everybody else!

I'll be trying to make it boot now again,
if it doesn't boot this time i'll go out and being mad when i smoke up my cigarette, after that i'll continue to try to make it boot :good:
if it was daylight i would go out each time it doesn't boot but i don't have the energy for that atm
bad news guys it seems like i have ***** up my adb (or phone) it doesn't recognize my device don't know the reason neither.
i can't do anything until i fix adb since my phone is only reliable on OS X.

Oh and on Sammobile it says that the firmware wasn't available on Kies. So maybe now it is and that's why sites are just now reporting it.

Those were pretty major bugs, and cross-chip winzip ports ALWAYS fail to go much further than "boots to lockscreen".
