Hi
When I look under "running programs" there are some programs that are started outside I have used them.
Is it possible by my self to select / deselect these programs.

Is there a way to clear the programs used in the start menu and prevent how many are showing up?
thanks!
I did a SEARCH for "recent programs start menu" and found this little gem of a thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=251164
who woulda thunk?
Do you mean the recently used programs?
There is a freeware out there by Vicsoft called ClearTemp. I got it from freecabs.de, but they send you to: http://mobile-sg.com/software/mobile.asp?p=ClearTemp
The items it will clear from memory are:
Temp
Cache
Cookies
History
Large Mail
Mail Attachments
Internet Address
Boot Count
Dead Shortcuts
RECENT PROGRAMS
It will tell you how much space these are taking up, you check the box if you want these items cleared. Then tap Tools - Clean
VJEschaton will also clean the recent used entries. But I think you have to soft reset (with any solution?) for it to take effect.

well.. the title pretty much says it all. is there a way to do that since i've been through all the menus and settings of the phone and also have been through the forums here and i could not find any option for that matter..
and another related question.. what do you guys recommend for a maintenance program that works well on the hd and has a nice set of utilities that could be useful for tweaking and optimizing the memory
Hi,
first question: start-setting-menu : uncheck what you dont like to see in the start menu.
if your meaning is how to delete the list on top of the start menu from left to right, i think that just a soft reset can delete the list.
maintenance program: i am using Oxios Closeapp and Oxios Hibernate.
Tweak: HD Tweak Montecristoff
ciao
i meant the other start menu list and actually it's not cleared by a soft reset - i have tried - but hey it doesnt bother me that much but i was curious about it.. thanks for the oxios applications they both look useful and i am transferring them to my hd as i write this
SKTools has a tool called "AutoClean!", where you can define to delete this list.
Howdy all,
Just installed a few bits and pieces yesterday and (subsequently uninstalled a few of them) and have noticed the little drop down arrow in the top bar (on the far right) is missing.
I dont know what it's called, but it gives you a list of all running programs and allows you to switch to a program that has been backgrounded.
recently I installed:
Wisbar Advance 3(since removed)
Wisbar Advance Desktop 2 (since removed)
Resco Explorer
Resco Explorer Registry plugin
AEButtons (since removed)
Omniano
SSMaHo
iCOntact
iDailer
I must admit, I have been playing around with various settings and had to turn TouchFLO off in the "Today Screen" settings menu in order to get WAD to run in a semi acceptable fashion. Has that screwed me?
Settings - system- Task Manager - Button tab - Enable Quick Menu on Today Screen
I've recently run into an issue with adding new application shortcuts.
When I use the add program shortcut feature, it displays the majority of my apps, with the exception of a few new ones I've added. And I'm noticing it shows a few applications I uninstalled through AppManager. Specifically, the Chapelle - Rick James sound board, and Penguin.
When I browse through AppManager both apps no longer show.
So my question would be is there any way to refresh the application shortcut menu? It seems to have gotten stuck.
I'm running ClockworkMod 2.5.0.1 / liberated_aria_b005_signed.
So nobody out there is having problems creating new shortcuts except me?
After a routine and uneventful upgrade to W10 Home from 8.1, and with no issues or problems encountered (so far), I can't understand why the Startup tab in Task Manager will not show anything. I still have all the programs that I had in 8.1 and I have installed a few new things since the upgrade, but Startup tab only has a greyed out "there are no startup items to display".
Anybody else seeing this???
Well.......if just a few of you reading this post (67 now), would kindly look at your startup tab in Task Manager and tell me whether yours is also empty or whether it is populated normally w/ programs that are going to run at startup, I would appreciate it. That's why I ask the question.......thanks.
Mine is not empty and after the upgrade the startup programs remains as in 8.1..
Can't you even add a shortcut to startup folder (C:\Users\[YOUR_USER_NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup) ?
You can add apps by scrolling on the ones you want to add in the program list (after hitting the start menu) and right clicking on them and selecting "pin to start menu." Once they are in the start menu you can drag them wherever you want by holding down on the left button of your mouse. You can asleep resize them by right clicking on your mouse and selecting resize. Your frequently used apps will populate as you go and those too are movable. Hope that helps you.
