I found these two great apps, but unfortunately dont know japanese. Can anyone help me out with these? They look great, one is a task manager which seems to be much better than magic button (also can do kind of alt tab), and the other allows assigning actions to single, double click, long press etc to any hard key.

So, anyone?? Can you get something out of the google translations? wkTask is easy enough to run but hard to figure out the options dialog. How hard would it be to translate these apps?

Thanks for translation, but the problem is that it is unusable on my (italian) version
of tytn I WM6 since i see in the menu only square and strange chars...
I think it must be translated by author...

Oh, Sorry. but...
Using MUI mechanism, other one can translate RESOURCE(Dialog, Strings, etc...) various languages, without change original EXE. If someone make MUI(i.e. WkTask.exe.0410.mui, Italian MUI), you will be able to use WkTask in Italian.

Here are a some things I'd like to know:
- What does this mean .. dual launch for KeyManupilation and Tiny Launcher by KeyManupilation?
- Is there any way to hide the white border it draws? (basically make it look more like mbutton)
- Also can we set its width to auto grow (so if i have phone or text message icon on the top bar, it'll get hidden under bar, how do i get around that?)
- It also displays bar at top even when phone is password protected :-\ so a person can switch to any program even though pda is locked. Any way to get around that?
And finally, could you let us know how to use sortinchkey? It seems like a great idea to be able to single/double/triple tap hard buttons to launch programs. (atleast thats what i think it does)
And oh yeah, if you know of any more great programs, please share them with us.

I recommend the First Way!
There are many many screenshots. You'll be able to understand the basic instruction of WkTask, even if the site written in Japanese.
Because my main PDA is Sharp S01SH(WVGA device), screenshots shuld be too large.

What is there for settings. It is only based on skinning its looks...There are n number of skins available for ver .15 as well as .16 try them.
changing fonts, images, pictures, size, colors without trying to know how to edit the settings
The theme designing method as suggested by tene are attached here.. May be you you can draw info from it..

The challenge, apart from coding it, is to make it usable while keeping the required flexibity.

that's not helpful (at all). You're basically creating a list of setting, I have this list, and more complete
The problem is to make it usable, practical and easy. I don't see that amount of settings helping anybody... the next step would be "a way to import/export setting easily", then people would just have to take pre-created settings file from other... hey wait that's just what we have right now.
I agree howeevr that some settings, settings not related to appearence but behavior could use a settings dialog. But what you're asking is a theme editr, not a setting dialog. And you should try edit the settings.ini, it's not really hard to do and a lot more flexible than any settings dialog (copy/paste, macro, serach and replace, fine tuning of resources, etc...)

i understand what you mean but there are some people that cant understand the setting.ini setup and dont have the time to learn. if there is way to be able to change your theme the why you want it and save it. that can help a lot of people who can not understand how and what to change in the setting for the theme and plus if you can see what you are changing in real time instead of guesting on what it will look like when you are done changing the setting in note pad on the pc.

Hi, just beggining to code for the Xperia.
This is just the beggining for a fast alternative for the other panels.
128x128 icons with vibrate touch response.
Not added like a panel and for the moment only works in portrait mode.
Be easy on me, just begun for 1 week ago programming.

For now there isn't much more than a clock and 2 rows of icons but i will post screenshot..
Simple... and kinda elegant. I like where this is headed. Hope to see the full version soon.
BTW - just a thought, but an elegant/classical looking (not too fancy or colored) analog clock at the top would go better than the digital one.

I believe, from feedback i have read across the interweb, that if you could set this up, to emulate the SE feature phone interface, there would be quite a lot of interest.
Better still if you could make SMS work as easily as the feature phones, but that is asking too much of you.

Nice work.
Looks nice (but a little empty)
Do you think you can add an "options page" accessed through left or right softbutton just as in the SE panels?
In this options page we could 15 empty spaces and we can choose to add an application directly or add a new page to an empty space with an additional 15 empty spaces.
This way we can add more applications/pages or contacts ourselves. We would also need a "back button" so we can go back to the previous page.
Good luck with it, looking forward to a final version.

from my point of view (designer) it would be nice if the panel could be configured via an external xml file to place the bitmaps (with coordinates) and to configure the button-links to the applications.

Hi.
I`m in the process of making a ROM especially for disabled / sight impaired people and am making good progress.
But two things I need to change are:
1) The location of the Talkback toggle (Instead of having it in Settings > Accessibility > Services) I want to put the slider toggle on the main settings screen above the Wifi toggle. I have found hacky ways of getting to the accessibility screen (using a settings shortcut and using home2shortcut to apply the shortcut) however, cyanogen have changed something in their code and making the same shortcut now does nothing, or rather it takes you to the accessibility screen, but you cannot go into talkback, you try and it just kicks you back to the accessibility screen
2) Remove the confirmation screen when you enable talkback.
I am familiar with the new gestures to suspend talkback temporarily, but I want to go one further than this and be able to switch it on or off at will, without confirmation.
I have looked into even making a SQlite script but this can only be used from CWM recovery apparently...
I just need to know what entries I need to tchange in the XML. I`m at ease with decompiling apks which I have done.
I would love to have this talkback toggle on the main setting screen, and it would be fantastic if I could remove the confirmation dialog from talkback itself.
Can anyone help?

you should rather learn how to track code-links. theres acouple of very helpful tools like grep and godir. basically you start by searching for the same display text you see on your phone. you find that you have the variable name. you search for that one and it links into the layouts. you search for the layout id's and it links into the actualy code. you will run into these problems again and again, so better try to track it down on your own once and next time it happens you'll be fine.
I would like to simulate a grid map with each cell composing an ImageView, and create a tile-based map.
I have done this before using a GridLayout, and it worked, but the problem is, it cannot accommodate the amount of data that I need.
In my previous question, I couldn't find a nice solution on how to get a GridView to act as I wanted.
I tried this two-way-gridview but I cannot make it work, and its lack of documentation on how to use it makes things difficult.
I'm not sure also if it can scroll diagonally, because I really need to make my map scroll in 2 dimension concurrently.
ViewGroups I have tried:
GridLayout - Does what I want but inefficient in memory management.
GridView - Lack of default functionality to scroll in two dimensional way.
