Ok, here's a thread to discuss CM10.1 so we can leave development thread only for devs and bugs.

Ok great. Just to keep info here, since it happened to me and a few others, if you're caught stuck on boot after fastboot the kernel/recovery image (not bootloop), solution is apparently to reflash stock using Flashtool (there's a topic with lots of ftf (or tft?) files, the full 750mb stock firmwares, and only then, reflash CM from scratch.

Is this due to the kernel? Really hope doomlord gets his kernel to CM10, I read somewhere he was thinking about it or working on it.
I doubt that the kernels differ much. They basically have the same root. Also I can say that my life is not that fast paced that a I don't have a few seconds to spare

I agree in principle but it is strange to not have a device suddenly leap to life when the power button is pressed. It is anxiety provoking to have two seconds of waiting before being able the entirety of human knowledge on a device that fits in one's pocket.
Hi, I was just reading the freexperia install instructions.
I noticed the step:
3.Flash CM kernel
a. extract boot.img from zip file
b. power off device
c. press volume up (2012 devices) / menu (2011 devices)
d. plug usb and blue led will be lit
e. on computer type in same folder where you have boot.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
!!! you have to have fastboot.exe in same folder !!!
HOWEVER, I never actually did this, all I did was flash cwm.zip then gapps.zip and that was it. I am on unlocked bootloader, it is my understanding that the cwm.zip should've flashed the kernel along with the rom. AM I correct?
Why is that kernel flashing step needed?
It is needed if you don't have a custom recovery already

I'm switching between Stoxk and CM10.1, if I need my speakerphone to work I restore Stock.
It's supposed to be fixed in next release.
For the two second delay, I'm not sure but I remember seeing settings that are not enabled with some start options, not sure if it will concern this delay at unlock screen...
Edit : they are aware of the unlock delay bug and it's on to do list.
Edit kali posted a message about fxp218 that will be released today : we have to flash the kernel before like the first time.
Sometimes when I rotate the screen while watching YouTube I get SOD (kind of), audio keeps playing but theres no response when pushing buttons and reboot is required. Seems to be YT exclusively as i have not had this happen on any other similar app. Anyone else having this issue?

I've come across this issue a few times, it also happened to me while playing a video in the gallery. It doesn't bother me too much as it happens very rarely
What bothers me more is that my 64GB microsd card keeps remounting. Sometimes it'll stay mounted for a few hours and then suddenly the phone thinks it is getting removed and reinserted multiple times every second. I keep getting notifications about 'unsafe sdcard removal' and then mediascanner indexing files. However I observed this behavior on stock as well, so I think it has something to do with the 64GB card. I've seen others report this problem on a dutch forum, but I'm not sure if they were using the same card. Does anybody recognize this?
Unfortunately I don't have any other microsdcards to test atm. So I don't use the microsdslot anymore. I will look into it once I find another sdcard, if the problem still exists with a different one I'll post logcat's.

If you want help you should give more details about which one you used, what did you try before, etc.
Sometimes flashing advanced stock kernel (from Doomlord) before and restart the procedure helps
FXP 218 has a bug and will be fixed later today.

I recently decided to try out GALAXY TASK 14 Revamped, everything was working great, while getting my Apps from Google Play the screen timed out which was no biggie it was going to be 15 or so minutes. When I came back 20 min later turned the screen on and the video was out of sync or static in the center of the screen with 2 thick black bars one on top one on the bottom.
Here is what it looks like for comparison to yours (Thanks to cobrax2)

I had the rolling problem on wake up after installing the bootloader used by isimobile to fix the rolling screen on CWM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27830023&postcount=41) . I needed to have Pershoot's CWM working to be able to install JB AOSP Alpha (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765254). After some testing of JB I restored a backup to my semi-stock (modified recovery) and was having that ugly problem with the screen. I just installed this kernel and it seems to be solved!
Thanks a lot bugs9477!
YESSS!!
Ahh, a BC native! Gotta say, following your instructions was a lot easier on the mind since you're only a couple of hours away, LOL!
This was my FIRST attempt at rooting anything and I've been pulling my hair out over rolling recovery, blahblahblah. FINALLY pulled the trigger and flashed the bootloader, then loaded this kernel to stabilize after screen lock. Dude, thank you SO much for posting this!! Very noob friendly.
Thanks again!

I tried this fix but still have the scrolling screen after coming back from sleep. Even restoring my initial HC nandroid, the issue will remain.
Does anyone know of a fix that doesn't break wifi?
Thanks in advance!

I'll keep an eye in a fix for ICS or JB! Thanks.

Thanks PUA John, this worked to stop the rolling screen for me on my P7510. However, it still looses my MAC and IMEI information, thus WIFI.
Be nice if somebody had a proper boot kernel to use.
EDIT: Used CWM to flash a new ROM (CM9 ICS 10.1 -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425631) which fixed the IMEI and MAC Address issue. No rolling screen present either. Only thing that ROM doesn't have is the camera... debating if it's worth my time to try and get a fix for this camera thing or not... Who uses their Tablet for a camera anyways?!

Just wanted to point this out to you. On this page you refer to the old install method (base/essentials)
"If the flash is too quick ( < 5 seconds or so), reflash base before flashing essentials." maybe reword that to the new way so people don't get confused? Of course that is assuming they do the proper reading

Guys, im currently on android 4.4.2 (catalysm rom) I've a significant delay notification while screen off, when i turn off the screen the notifications magically comes out. How to fix it??? I've tried everything, flash the stock image, flash a kernel with prima drivers, turn off wifi optimization, changed radio from .98 to .97, did some test on wifi file changes like alot thread say, but nothing, still have this problem, does somebody have found a fix? Please any help is really appreciated.

So guys, seems qualcoom is working on these issues. https://www.codeaurora.org/cgit/external/wlan/prima/log/ Here you go. There are alot fixes on new prima drivers.
I've noticed the same behavior ever since moving to 4.3 and 4.4 ROMs. But when I was on 4.2 ROMs, notifications were instantaneous.
My best example is w/ gmail. My credit card sends me an email whenever a transaction is made on my card. When I was on 4.2 ROMs the gmail notification pops up the moment I swipe my card. But when I moved to 4.3 ROMs and currently on 4.4, I'd have to turn my phone on, unlock the screen, and a few minutes later the notification would finally arrive. Some days i contemplate moving back to 4.2 ROMs cuz even my Google voice texts come in delayed as well.
I tried that app that was recommended but it didn't work for me. I still had to turn on my phone to get my gmail credit card notification. Guess my new habit of checking my phone every hour isn't going away. LoL.

After, regarding where it should go, I think it "Android Development" category would fit, but I'm sure someone will confirm and move there if necessary.
Sounds great, can't wait to get home and try it out. I'm currently using PAC, but it lacks a lot of the usual PAC features. Same is for paranoid for Flo, it's almost completely pure AOSP and lacks a lot of the usual features.

What kernel should I use for this - CAF or AOSP?

I'll be happy if it just doesn't random reboot like the CM11 does. So far, only stock is solid.

Nope zero problems for me
V6 semed to have got lost in the air somewhere , but v7 ( pretty stable i think just doing last of the tests ) is up and very very very good
A bit of a warning here, Fenris is not like other roms, to get the best out of it either read the setup instructions with a fine tooth comb, or be VERY familiar with lucky patcher already
Fenris V8 ( what i hope is the last version ) is up, so far no big bugs

V8 fails to flash. Twrp gave me a failed updater binary error (or something like that) error.

Ok am on it, will have a look and fix if necessary within the hour,
There is a separate problem, the new build of beanstalk i am using seems to have broken bluetooth, i have just checked on a clean unmodified beanstalk / fresh flash and def something up with the Bluetooth, since im not compiling it yet doubt can fix, am revering back to the previous release and checking its working on that, if not going on that will be changing rom base.
Just flashed my local V8 with no problems, twice to check,
So has to be a upload/download issue, can you try re-downloading and try again ?, if still issue will re-upload file.
What does the TWRP window say ? does it fail at a script line or fail at the beginning ?

I redownloaded and tried it again. The attached picture shows the error I am getting. I am using multirom if that makes a difference

hmm yes obviously an issue when flashing as secondary rom, maybe something to do with the new " check journals gone with a script " feature, will remove it and see if that makes a difference, will call it v8.1 and do it for tonight.
Ps seems Bluetooth does work, just the options>blutooth>on/of switch is flaky, can be swiched well with the drop-down panels.
Its a small bug and do not think its reason to switch base rom.
Have checked pairing with few devices, all pair, by no means a good spread
8.1 is uploaded , can i ask what TWRP you are using ? , i dont recognise your screenshots, is it the multirom app ? I use 2.7 multirom TWRP and it does not look like that ( in fact your screens look much better )

Ahhh thank you very very much, must say one learns something new every day on XDA
Ok found/fixed the issue with Fenris and multirom, the multirom environment is incompatible with my ext4 journal fix, hence i have made a version without my ext4 fix, its in the same folder but with a "multirom" tag, just tested and will be good.
I do a fair amount of weird kernel tweaking in the init.d , no idea if any of that is multirom complaint, certainly have not tested it in that env
V9 is up, this is final stable version, which i use every day, lead post updated.

Thanks, BIGSimon for taking the time to create this thread
Yes big thanks to you for opening this thread so we can keep things organized.
Most excellent; I look forward to updating my TouchPad.
If anyone has difficulty downloading from the goo.im links, I've mirrored a copy of the ROM and recovery at the following location:
HTTP: http://www.rootfiles.org/pub/mirror/jcsullins/cmtouchpad/testing/
FTP: ftp://anonymous%40rootfiles.org:[email protected]/pub/mirror/jcsullins/cmtouchpad/testing/
If @jcsullins doesn't approve I'll take it down (and or happily grant him full write access). :]
I like reading, is there a changelog, git or something that i can read about this rom ?

Nope, J.C. Sullins is not known for that kind of stuff. However, since he does base his builds on Milaq's CM11, if you look at his OP in the "Change" box, that should give you some idea of what is going on as long as you know how to read that kind of stuff. And that is about as close as you will get to a change log in Milaq's thread.
Fyi. I can confirm that the USB OTG Activation bug is fixed in this build for those that use OTG.
@BIGSimon and others,
JcSullins also has a fully Touch version of Philz CWM 6.0.4.7 jcs DM 20140317 that has the same ROM support as the regular non-touch version and also has a "TWRP Mode" under "Backup and Restore" (Nandroid Settings). Highly recommended. Additional details in post 2 of my "info" thread.

I have a problem with this (and, i think, any other data/media 4.4 rom) - listening to music (tried apollo with local files and play music with cloud music) with screen off results in either complete hang (have to reboot using home + power button), or just audio stopping working until the reboot. In some rare cases it could continue.
I'm attaching the logcat (played some music via play music, it was ok, switched to apollo, turned screen off and sound died), i've saved it after the problem occured, so the relevant data have to be somewhere near the end.
I assume as per Milaq's rom, this rom uses 3.0 kernel?

I don't spend my day looking at the sigs people attach to their posts. I find them really useless. Kind of like the vanity plates people stick on their cars, stupid. You asked a question in the JC Sullins cm 11 thread, I gave you an adequate answer.

Done some googling, found that in some 4.3 rom (milaq, i think) there was a advice to keep bluetooth on to prevent death of audio on sleep. I've tried it, and it seems to be working so far.
Not only while listening music, just keep the pad on (idle) for a while, it enters deep sleep mode. To wake it up you have to press power and home most of the time. Also Bluetooth transferring is not happening.
