[Q] Need Help to Install WM7 On Htc HD2

I Have HTC HD2 From a Provider Telstra, The Radio version is 2.07, and SPL version is SPL-1.66 XE. I have tried to install WM7 by all the ROM available but still i cannot get it up and running. Can any body please help me out for installing the latest version and also SPL which are recommended.
Hi. since this is your first post, i assume you're quite new to the world of flashing ROM's. Recommend you get yourself familiarised with:
1) HSPL - which version to use...
2) Radio - Which radio enables 576mb
Flashing can be fun, but if done recklessly, can be lethal to the device as well.
All ROM's posted have the requirements stated clearly. Do not attempt to flash any ROM without checking that your device suits the requirement first.
You can go back to WM6.5 ROM Development to read more on HSPL and Radio Versions.
follow these steps..they are for your device only:
step1. you need to flash hspl first
step2. you need to flash radio higher than 2.08.50... preferably 2.12 or 2.15
step3. flash magldr 1.13 (magldr replaces wm 6.5..)
step4. flash wp7 or android nand rom
but before all this....step 0. read , read, read all tutorials..radio thread, hspl thread, magldr thread, wp7 install threads
i have problem whit sd card after install wm7 hd2 goes to restart few times is problem whit sd card or must i do
1 particion fat 32
2 make ext ....etc second particion like on nand
ihave hspl
radio madglr1.13

you need a better sd card.. try a sandisk 8gb/16gb card
yes i wos thinking is the problem whit sd card i have kingston 8 gb class 6 4 gb kinsston class4
2 gb kingston and no one work whit wm 7
every card is different so dont listen and buy a card that someone recomends and assume it will work!
however statistically you will have a better chance of getting a sandisk class 2 or 4 card working. however thats not to say it will work for you, but there is a better chance getting one of those to work.

Stops after GO GO GO at first boot

Hi
I have tried to install android on my phone and after a few attempts I finally got to the step where to install Android which works fine.
But after first boot it is written that it may take upto 20 minutes.... I have tried with different kernels with same results.... it simply stops after GO GO GO then it comes to the android screen and nothing happens... I have tried to let it be for 5 hours... still no reaction!
What I do is to copy the .zip file to my SD card and go to to the boot menu and coose "Install from zip file on SD card".
Any good ideas how to solve it?

You need to provide more details for folks around here to reply. Ie:
1. Which model are you using - LEO512 or LEO1024
2. Which MAGLDR was flashed. Version 1.13? Because earlier version had the freeze at GOGOGO! problem.
3. Which android build did you use (DAF build type or CWR type?)
Only then we can even start to suggest what to do to help you
Wait....Are you using builds that requires SDCards to be partitioned? If yes, did you partition as required?

Mate,
I experience that too. I think not all ROM can be successfully boot.
My suggestions is either try reflashing or find another ROM that works for your HD2.
Cheers

Thats odd.... I only know that the experience may vary across different units (ie: wake-up lag, power drain, etc). Never have i heard that not all builds can be successfully booted. I still think the problems has to do with settings (i.e.: config.txt, NAND partition layout, SD Card partition size and formats etc).
If you have a prob with the builds, please specify clearly which version and your configurations. Only then folks here can advice accordingly....
can't hurt...
task 29, WM6.5 rom installation, magdlr installation then flash the rom again
make shure you created ext partition on SD if required for making work the ROM (check its trhead)....
Do a fresh installation(Format SD->Task 29->Flash Radio->Flash MAGLDR->Flash CWM->Flash ROM from zip using AD recovery option in MAGLDR.. Maybe you are using an incompatible radio?
if i have this problem, i flash windows back (LEOIMG.nbh is always on my sdcard).
this will help me.
after one "no-function"-flash dont try an other flash by the same config like the config before.
I think that problem is in kernel . you trying kernel for new desire, use for N1.

Hi
I have no idea if it is a 1024 or 512! How do I find out?
I use MAGLDR 1.13
I have tried to install
RAFDROID HD 4.0.2|Fastest Full DesHD|DATA2EXT|[Rafpigna 1.8 OC]
[LEO512][LEO1024]CMYLXGOs Stock Desire HD(2)[RUU1.84][RAFPIGNA 1.9OC]
and more
All with same result
I have tried to do the sd partition... .actually with 2 diffent cards but I have never been able to have 2 partitions.... I alway ends up with 1 partition on 2Gb
---
Do a fresh installation(Format SD->Task 29->Flash Radio->Flash MAGLDR->Flash CWM->Flash ROM from zip using AD recovery option in MAGLDR.. Maybe you are using an incompatible radio?
---
I tried that as well with same results
Do you recomment a specific android?
I'm totally new in this and only want a android on my phone )

Dont spend your time to long only to one ROM
Unless it is your favorite ROM (Chef)

i guess you did a ROM flash through clockworkmod? if so, did you flash the correct partition sizes (sense roms need often about 400mb /system partition). If not you need to find the 400mb clockwork recovery in this forum.
If you flashed a rom via DAF, please disregard this.
also please post in the correct forum (Q and A would be correct for this topic i believe)

I have done a task29 several times already.
---
.... or rather t mobile on top of ur screen

I'm not sure what you ask me about. But no on my phone my call buttons is black and gray
By using panasonic formatter I only format... but the card is on 8Gb so guess I need to make a partition.
Mini partition tool doesnt work correct it report errors as soon as I ftry to format etx3
If your phone has T-mobile on top and buttons are colored red & grees - its LEO1024.
If all grey without any logo on its case/housing - then its LEO512/EURO model.
difference is the NAND size. LEO1024 has 1GB and LEO512 has 512MB.
Peter,
I'll quickly write the outline here, hopefully it helps. But detailed guide on each subject has been posted numerous times here. Please look for them.
Outline to get RAFDROID up and running (Based on your post, im assuming yours is LEO512)
1. Flash MAGLDR 1.13 (this involves entering tricolor screen and flashing like good'ol WM6.5)
2. From MAGLDR, choose USB Flasher mode (Option 4 i think...) and flash Clockwork Mod Recovery with 400MB layout. (this is important, wrong layout will cause bootloop and androd will not boot)
3. Assuming you have 2GB microSD card - Use a memcard reader and connect it to your PC. Dont use mass-storage option from MAGLDR. Launch Minitool Partition and create 1GB FAT32 Primary partiton followed by 1GB EXT3 with 4096 block size primary partition. This process is not as complicated as it may sound
4. Put the downloaded RAFDROID CWR zip file into the FAT32 partition. (When the partitioning is complete, windows will only see 1GB in your microSD. The 2nd 1GB EXT3 partition will only be available to android, so dont worry about it)
5.Once done, pop you microsd in your LEO, and choose Recovery option from menu. Once you enter the recovery menu, choose Install from ZIP file and choose the RAFDROID zip file that you have just put in.
6. Wait, and choose reboot. Whole process should be about 20 min.
7. Enjoy your android
Guys, please add anything if i missed out any steps

transfer the zip file from pc to mmc card by mounting the card orelse use card reader to transfer the files
go into malgdr option and install from zip
note:create 1024 ext3 or ext4 leaving the rest in fat format

Hi .. Thanks ...It Was Good ... Alright So I'll Give you Te Way To Triple Boot HD2 ... First Let Me Tell You To Make A Copy Of All You Have On Your SD Card ... The Things Required Are :
1- HD2---------------------------------------------------------------------------->One
2- 2GB SD ( Optional But Its Better To Have One ... )--------->One
3-8 GB SD --------------------------------------------------------------------->One
4- WPH ROM ---------------------------------------------------------------->One
5- Native SD ROM ---------------------------------------------------------> As Much As Needed
Alright First You Need To Install Magldr 1.13 On Leo
then Put The 2 GB SD ON The Phone And Flash The WPH ROM ( You First Have To Go TO This Address On Magldr Services>Use Last 24 NAND And Enable It Then Flash The ROM)
Step Two -
When The WPH Rom Booted Shut Down The Phone And Take The SD Out And Use A " Mini Tool Partition Wizard " To Copy The Big Partition To The 8GB SD ( First Format Then Delete The Fat32 Partition And Copy The Big Partition Of 2 GB SD To The 8GB SD But Don't Forget To Drag The Partition To The Right Part Of SD Diagram To Make The Partitions Show The Left ; Unformatted And The Right : The Coppied Partition
Now Right Click On The Unformatted ( Left ) Partition And Choose Create Then Creat A 64MB 4EXT To The Right ANd Then Creat A 2 GB To The Right Too Now Format The Remaining Part With FAT32 ... Now Your Partition Diagram ( The Diagram Showing The 8GB SD Should Be Like This:
/ Fat32 / EXT4 (2GB) / EXT4(64 MB) / Unformatted (The Copied Partition) /
Now It's Almost Done ... First Apply The Changes ( May Take Half An Hour ) Then Put The 8GB SD Into HD2 And Check If The WPH Still Works On Not ( It Should Work But IF Not Then You may Had Made A Mistake ) ... Alright Now Power Off And Take SD Out And Make A Folder In The SD Named "ICS" And Put All The Items Included in This File In It ... Now Put The SD On The HD2 And Go to This Address Service > BootSetting >AD SD Dir
And There Find ICS And Then Go TO The Main Menu And Choose Boot AD SD Now The SD Recovery Boots And You Can Flash Any Native SD Roms On It ( Or Boot SD ROMs On It ) ... Then You Have To Connect The Phone On The USB To The Computer And Do This Rename :
"ICS" -------------> "ICS4X"
"NativeSD" -----> "ICS"
Now You Can Get The Android Boot Easily Without Getting To The Magldr Menu ( I Mean Just Rename The Roms Folder TO "ICS" And Reboot Then Choose Boot Ad SD On Magldr To Get It Boot - You Also Can Do This Rename On Android's File Manager )
That's It ... Easy And Delicious As A Piece Of Cake ...
The Combination I Recommend Is BOXMAX S3.5 And ChauTien CM 11 ( They Are The Bests Of The Rest )
Wish you Bests
With Best Wishes

Alright First You Need To Install Magldr 1.13 On Leo

-My Friend Let Me Know If There Were AProblem Or You Done The Steps To Help Or Continue-
Step Two -
When The WPH Rom Booted Shut Down The Phone And Take The SD Out And Use A " Mini Tool Partition Wizard " To Copy The Big Partition To The 8GB SD ( First Format Then Delete The Fat32 Partition And Copy The Big Partition Of 2 GB SD To The 8GB SD But Don't Forget To Drag The Partition To The Right Part Of SD Diagram To Make The Partitions Show The Left ; Unformatted And The Right : The Coppied Partition

Thanks My Friend ... Sorry For The Late ... I Didn't Check The Thread ... Just Could You Please Name The ROM ? ... Maybe You Can Try A NON Sense ROM With Super Turbo Speeed ... ... Just Try This or this sense ROM (It Takes The Sense ROM Boot On 30 Seconds ... !!! ) ... I'm Sure They Work As Fast As Jet !!! ... ( Their An SD ROM So You Have To Extract The Whole ROM Folder TO SD Card ( In The Folder You Should Have Some EXT And Images ... So If They Were In A Folder In That Just Copy Them And Then Give The Folder To Magldr To Boot ... That's It ...

[Q] HD2 with Windows Phone 7.8 can't do 4EXT recovery

Sorry to be such a late bird, but I'd like to have WP7.8 + NativeSD Android 4.x dual boot on my HD2.
So I did install MAGLDR 1.13 and flashed Dynamics_HD2O_HD2_2_21_Western, which works like a charm.
After that I followed the instructions of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1880905, but this is where my issue is.
I have set up my SD card as outlined and put the 4EXT recovery (tried all three flavours) on the FAT32 partition along with EvoHd2v10final-fixedx.zip.
Then selected the recovery folder as AD Boot Dir in MAGLDR and tried to boot AD on SD.
After that I get 123456 GO GO GO but after a while first the green htc screen appears, stays for a while and then the phone reboots into MAGLDR.
What can I do to do a NativeSD setup?
Do I have to do a MAGLDR Repartition or a MAGLDR Update Recovery with HD2 Toolkit 4.3? With what parameters?
I have tried several Task28, Repartition parameters, ...
I tried with and without "Use Last 24MB" - some say it's required, some say it may cause bricking ...
I'm a bit lost. Please help!
Thanks
ScruffR
BTW: Would there be a way to copy the SD-ROM to the EXT4 partition manually (e.g. on a Linux box)?
Well ...

@hitman1376:
Thank you for this reply!
Obviously the 4EXT Recovery versions I tried were faulty. All three of them didn't work with my setup, but just to save some hassle, I tried your 4EXT Recovery_1.rar on my pre-partitioned SD before going through with the whole procedure you pointed out - and it worked immediately.
Thanks
Congrats ...
