Bluetooth dialing?? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Built in google bluetooth dialer is total crap. How do I use Google voice search to make Bluetooth calls/actions?
S voice garbage is disabled because it is slow and sucks.
Why are we in the year 2013 and still can't control our phones with Bluetooth?

Google voice integration problems

Google voice integration problems not allowing outgoing calls started for me earlier this afternoon. Disintegrating the two solved the issue but i was curious if there was a solution that retains integration.

[Q] App for texting using tablet?

What is the best app out there for sending and receiving SMS text messages using your tablet?
sms sync tab text.. these are two that i have tired both work. Not used them in a while so might work better now with updates to them.. can do bluetooth or must be on same wifi network. .
Also if you are tethered you can use google voice or yahoo messenger to text to and from phone numbers. Groove ip as well and grove with google voice is awesome to make Phone calls from tablet.. There are so many out there you will have to try and find what works best for your liking and style.
I would recommend using SyncSMS
I would recommend Google voice and talkatone, as the latter requires a Google voice number. Talkatone incorporates both WiFi calling and SMS texting, while using only Google voice allows only texting over WiFi.
I've been trying out Tablet Talk lately and it seems to work well.

Same here... Tablet Talk is awesome!
I use mighty text. I am not sure about the other apps, but this app uses your own phone number, and there is an extension for the chrome browser for a computer.
SyncSMS
I think I like SyncSMS the best. It seems to be the best of the suggestions.
Google Voice + Groove IP apps so you can make/receive unlimited calls within North America along with unlimited SMS text for free over WIFI. Just pay the one time fee for the Groove IP app or use free equivalent.
I really like tablet talk

+1 to Google Voice. I use Google Voice's app for texts, and GrooveIP for calls.
I'm using mySMS it's free and works good. Give it a try. I have it set on my cell phone to run in background but not to notify or pop up. I then am able to use Handcent as my normal SMS application.

Do any of the texting apps mentioned here actually give you your own #, so that actual mobile users can text you? (I'm only aware of Google Voice doing this)
Using tablet talk and it's working great.

Using syncsms here, just make sure you have free space in your drop box and you're fine!

How are you text messaging on your n7?

So I'm new to the nexus 7 just wondering what all of you are using for text messaging? Right now I have text+. But I see others out there such as... mysms, sync SMS, tablet talk. What are you using and why?

I tested TabletSMS but the price they asked is ridiculous, and it's necessary to have a wi-fi connection all the time on both devices. So I've bought Tablet Talk and it works great, it can use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, so it's pretty much perfect for what my use.
My devices are Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro and a Nexus 7.
I use Google Voice over wi-fi. Works perfectly.
Desk SMS here sorry desk SMS on phone tablet SMS on N7.
I use google voice. I don't give out my real cell #, only my google voice #. So I do a lot of my texting from my browser or tablet.
TabletSMS and DeskSMS works on wifi over google account its $4.99/year but if you take your tablet somewhere and forget your phone/ leave it plugged in to charge (still connected to 3G/4G/WiFi) you can text with your Nexus 7 no matter where you go as long as you have an internet connection. it works over google account.

I don't believe that Google Voice works anywhere but the US. I could be wrong though.

Tablet Talk works great. Use a few of the free Google dollars to buy something that works great.

Do I need to buy the phone version also to use this?
TabletSMS and DeskSMS are the best. You can even install an extension in Chrome and Firefox to text from your browser. Best part is it is linked to your Google account so no need to have wifi or bluetooth on. Just ensure your phone is connected to the internet. Koush makes great products, can't go wrong!
I use a combination of Google Talk, Facebook Messenger and Zipwhip which forwards SMS from my phone to my tablet, it's also free and can be used on the Web also.

Vonage App question

I heard people are using this to get unlimited minutes over WiFi.
People also said that it works to call anybody.
Is that true? The app says the person your calling also needs the app.
yea, I tried it and same thing, other people have to have the app to use it. uninstalled

If I make a Google voice number, can I forward it to multiple phones with groove IP?

Vonage App
The people you are calling do not have to have the Vonage app. If it's in the US or Canada you can call them for free. When you first setup the app, it asks you to confirm your phone number so that it can spoof it when you place the calls. The people you call will have whatever number you confirm. I listed my Google Voice number so that way when I call out through the Vonage app, it shows the Google Voice number. I will note that it didn't send the SMS but it's not a big deal as you can click the "Request a Call" button to verify instead.
The free calls to phone numbers in US & Canada is apparently a limited time thing (sort of like the free Google Voice calls but those have so far been extended annually) so after that is when both users would have to have the app to make free calls. At the moment you get 3000 free minutes a month to use so it's worth trying out.
So Google voice isn't going to remain free?

google voice will remain free for 2013.
Then how much will it cost?
I wonder if google voice will turn into a carrier?
