Any one has tried to use WatchOn to control Dish DVR?
It basically worked (changing channels, volume, .etc), but the power button doesn't work.
I tried different codes but had no luck..

Hello,
i have a small problem - i have bluetooth stereo headphones (nokia bh-503) which has remote controls on them (playback, next/prev track). The problem is, that whenever i press the play button (only the play, next/prev works fine), the device turns itself on... first i thought its caused by media player (conduits pocket player), but i noticed it does even when using wmp and so on :/
also i tried it in several roms (default one, xperience by itje, jack's v2 lite)
does someone has a suggestion what to do to prevent this? i've tried every setting available in system, but no result :/ i guess there'll be some app or reg tweak i couldnt find thx
hmm, no answer at all? dont tell me no one uses bt headphones these days
I bought a bluetooth car kit to play music with. When I first paired the device to my phone, all 3 the media buttons worked (play/pause, forward, and back). The next time I used the kit only the play/pause button worked.
Knowing Samsung sucks at everything, I didn't waste my time disconnecting/reconnecting. I plugged the phone into the ADB interface and watched the system log in DDMS. What I found was really confusing.
I plugged the bluetooth kit into a 12v source and connected the 2 devices. I played some music off my phone and watched the log as I presses some buttons. In the log, the button presses were actually showing up in the log with the right scan numbers but the media player just doesn't respond to anything other than play/pause.
If I try different combinations of connecting/disconnecting I can get the media buttons to work but 90% of the time they wont. WTF is happening T_T
I have not had that trouble with my bluetooth head unit. I have been using Pandora and Mixzing. I only have issues with audio dropout and it seems to disappear (stop dropping) after the connection has been used for maybe 10-15 minutes.
It worked perfectly with my Samsung Omnia.
I found out that the bluetooth controls only work when the media app is in the foreground. If I'm on the home screen the controls will be ignored. If I have pandora open on the screen, pandora will be controlled.
This is annoying and I wonder why nobody else is having this problem.
I understand your frustration. And if I may, I would like to add this question:
Does anyone have a handle on the interrelationship between the Epic 4G, wireless headsets, and AVRCP music players?
My rooted Samsung Epic 4G is running 2.1 and has the stock ROM.
I’m looking for a compatible MP3/Wireless headset combination using either the Motorola S9-DH or S10-DH, or the Rocketfish RF-MAB2. So far, I am unable to do everything the headsets say I should be able to do, that is, answering a call and having the player resume (both headsets get this far) and also controlling the MP3 player, i.e., allowing for track skipping, pausing, etc.
In short, I do not have control over an MP3 player’s basic functions from a wireless headset.
I have tried both the Motorola and the Rocketfish. While the Motorola does not see an MP3 player at all, the Rocketfish does control an MP3 player’s volume level.
The following MP3 players were tried: stock Epic player, Winamp, PowerAMP and MortPlayer Audio.
I am open to suggestions. I am not wed to the Motorola or Rocketfish, but I am comfortable with the way they sound and fit.
OR...would you buy the headset you like, work the MP3 player manually (not a good idea while driving) and tough it out until Froyo addresses the issue of Bluetooth connectivity?
Thank you.
I have a Beats by dre solo HD with the controlltalk remote in the cable, this also contains a mic, and for some reason it doesn't want to work.
I read that some android phones work with the remote but some don't, the HD2 works with the play/pause button, not with volume and also the mic doesn't work when calling.
I can use the mic in for example google voice search, that works like a charm, but it doesn't work in calls, is there an app that can fix something like that? or is it a simple setting? Or is it simply not possible?
I'm running android 2.3.3 (BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA)
Did you get a resolution on this? Having the same issue with my Samsung Droid Charge.
With root or a custom Rom, would it be possible to instruct the Nvidia Shield TV volume up/down to somehow bypass the system volume and instead control a usb IR blaster which would then give a signal to my audio receiver? I like the volume controls on my Nvidia remote but wish they would control my receiver. I don't have CEC either.
Anyone? Thoughts?
I've been looking for the same. I can't believe that not all home theater remotes today don't contain at least basic universal remote technology. My main concern is Plex which I can get volume control to work if I put it in stereo but that defeats half the reason (DD and DTS) for owning the Shield. Coming from the Sony GS7 I'm disappointed that I can't properly control volume.
Most recommendations say to use a harmony but then you give up the voice search and the headphone jack. I'll keep searching though as I do really like the Shield box. I'm also going to try with the Flirc as I know people have used that with the Nexus Player but I'm not sure if the Shield volume controls will translate.
Currently, on OOS 9.0.4, Bluetooth headset controls do not work correctly for me. I'm fairly certain there is no fix right now and I'll just have to wait for OnePlus to issue one.
When I press the Play/Pause button on my headset, the music app hangs (or crashes, if it is in the background) and the music remains paused. Skipping songs seems to work fine.
I've encountered this issue with both my bluetooth headphones (from Audio Technica and AKG respectively) and with every combination of Bluetooth option I could find in the settings (aptx on/off, media/ media + calls). This also occurs with multiple music apps, including Google Play Music and Phonograph.
I contacted OnePlus and they brought me through all sorts of steps mostly to do with signal strength, culminating in clearing the system cache and even a factory reset using the recovery. Nothing has worked yet.
I'm not too hopeful, but if you have any advice, please submit it below.
(Note: I'll be submitting this post to the OnePlus forums too, if I stop getting errors about not having permission to post)
I think it's just you. I'm on OOS 9.0.5 (and was using 9.0.4) on Spotify with the OnePlus Wireless buds (the ones from 6 months ago that were released). Buttons work fine. Volume and play/pause along with double tap commands.
Pair device again and uninstall offending app (along with clear data/cache) and try again perhaps.
EDIT: Also both of my vehicles work flawlessly with Bluetooth control. Can't say that for my old 5T or 6. Those two constantly required disconnect and reconnect of the Bluetooth to get them working. Only difference on 6T is not rooted...interesting but not complaining.
Unfortunately I'm not sure which app is the offending one, if any. I have a very similar setup on my old phone and there are no issues there.
I tested it immediately after doing a factory reset (most of the apps had not restored yet) and it still occurred. Tried Eon Player and Spotify too now, no success.

1.) Try pairing the offending bluetooth device to another media player and see if it works
2.) Try another bluetooth audio device with your OnePlus and see if that works.
That should help narrow it down more as to which is the culprit. I'm still thinking it's not the phone but your bluetooth devices not playing happy. Maybe go into developer options and play around with the bluetooth options in there...

Yeah I've done both of those things. Both sets of bluetooth headphones I own work fine with my old Samsung Galaxy A5 on Nougat but not on my OnePlus.
I've contacted OnePlus and sent them logs, so it's in their hands now.
