[Q] AT&T LTE Symbol? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got the S4 on AT&T and I know I am in a LTE area, but my phone just shows "4G" at the top and not the "4G LTE" symbol I see everywhere on the AT&T website. Does the GS4 not have the LTE logo there, or do I need to find out why my phone does not show LTE?
Thanks.

H+, H, 3G, E, 2g

Hi all, I have an unlocked At&t Atrix and using it in the UK on Hutchinson 3 (Three). I do love the phone but it worries me I only ever see 'H+'. Is this only for the ATT branded devices? If i get another phone factory unlocked will it show the other slower data connections or is the ATT firmware just hiding it?
I normally see all H+, H or 3G on other devices ... with this Atrix I only ever see H+!
thanks
It only has images for H+ and E.
Anything above EDGE service is labeled H+.

Can we add the missing image or change them easily? Is that possible with root?
If you go into help center app, user manual, icon. it says 3g is an icon for 3g, not H+
i have an att branded atrix and mine says 3g when on 3g and h+ when on H+
My ATRIX has displayed H+, E, and G (pre-EDGE) in my area.

I find that hard to believe. It has already been confirmed to me that 4G back-haul hasn't happened in my area and my phone always says H+

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the back-haul has nothing to do with the wireless connectivity and everything to do with behind the scenes stuff. So you're wireless connection is H+, but the speed behind it is missing until the back-haul is completed.
Essentially allowing them to advertise their H+/4G stuff with the fine print of missing the back-haul.

It's hard to be correct about anything dealing with the validity of AT&T's supposed 4G. They are completely vague about it. Back in November they had bragged that 80% of their network was H+ capable but now we have to wait on "back haul". While that might have a legitimate definition, it's still just an excuse and allows them to manipulate their marketing schemes.

Check it again and you'll find what you saw was just a "G" for GPRS service when no data is actively connected when on a 2G connection. There are only three icons available with the current AT&T/Bell firmware, G/E/H+ for all connections. Motorola does say they use a "3G" icon for UMTS connections, but the firmware seems to have disabled that icon in order to promote the 4G network.
I have a Bell Canada Atrix on Rogers GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA network, and even though the phone's own Testing app (*#*#4636#*#*) shows I have a UMTS connection at times, the icon never changes from "H+" unless I drop down to 2G where it usually shows "E".
I'm not sure if my phone qualifies as a branded phone put I mine shows all the symbols above. Most often it shows either H, 3G or E.

[Q] AT&T S4 (SGH-I337) -- Change icon for data network (HSPA/HSPA+/LTE)

Hello!
I find the icons that my AT&T S4 displays for 4G HSPA+ and 4G LTE to be very confusing and ugly.
I wanted to change the icon my phone displays for HSPA+ and LTE to the stock Android "H+" and stock "LTE" icon.
I'm on 4.2.2 rooted with motochopper.
I found a thread on some other forum for LG devices that mention NinjaMorph. I found the stock Android icons and the AT&T icons in the systemui.apk.
Question is, how do I swap them?

[Q] Will ALL radio bands work when switching my VZW Galaxy S4 to T-Mobile?

Hey guys,
I've spent 2 hours searching, but I can't find any clear or up-to-date information. I have a Verizon Wireless Galaxy S4 (SCH-I545 running VRUFNC5), and I will be switching from Verizon to T-Mobile. I've read that the VZW Galaxy S4 does not have the AWS 1700 band enabled, but then I've read that recent updates have enabled it. So, I'm confused.
Will my phone be able to access ALL T-Mobile bands (3G, 4G, 4G LTE, etc) to fully access T-Mobile's network?
If not, what bands will I be missing? Am I able to flash the radio or modify any settings to activate any particular bands?
Thanks everyone!
Randy

The answer to your fist question "Will my phone be able to access ALL T-Mobile bands (3G, 4G, 4G LTE, etc) to fully access T-Mobile's network?":
From a quick glance no, you can see witch version supports what band here:

[Q] SKT e300s on US AT&T LTE?

I have been trying many many many times to get my S4 LTE-A to work on the AT&T Network. I used the device on the SKT network, and had no problem getting LTE-A service. I have been using the BYOD Go Phone plan by AT&T for service while I am staying in the United States. I am able to obtain 3G, and "AT&T 4G" (HSPA+). I have verified that I have the correct APN settings, and my account is provisioned as a LTE Device. AT&T has verified my IMEI number as well. I have even fooled around with the SKT Hidden Menu, but I still cannot get LTE service. I saw someone post a tweet about getting LTE on AT&T, using the B17 LTE band, but for some reason, that one is not accessible on my device on the SKT Hidden Menu. Can anyone help me out? How can I get LTE service on my device? I was told many times that the device should get LTE, but no one at AT&T has any idea why I am not getting LTE. (I am in an area of LTE coverage. )
Thank you so much for your help!

Axon 7 shows wrong 4G icon in status bar when connected to 3G network

Hello all, I have ZTE Axon 7 Quartz Gray A2017U. Everything is perfect, but there is one annoying issue.
When I'm connected to 3G network (3G, H, H+ how do you like it ) I get 4G icon in status bar which is not correct.
When I connect to LTE, I get correct 4G/LTE icon in status bar.
Can somebody post their 3G icon?
I'm rooted and installed xposed with gravitybox, but I didn't change any options regarding 3G icon.
Here are pictures with fake 4G and correct 4G/LTE.
Fake 4G (connected to 3G network)
Real 4G/LTE
Any ideas how to fix it?
Are you on AT&T? AT&T calls their advanced 3G, 4G.

I think it's stock thing in US versions at least. I connect to 3G MicroCell (HSDPA+) and it show 4G, since that's how these are identified in US by carriers, so it will probably show 4G on anything above pure 3G so HSPA and above since here HSPA is 3.5G and HSPA+ is 4G

It's because you have the US model. US GSM carriers AT&T and T-Mobile marketed HSPA+ as "4G", even though it's based on 3G technology.
Thank you all for responses and clarification
