Maybe do a nandroid backup and then try and see?
Up, i got the same issue. ANy news ?

Hello,
No ideas about the storage, but I installed the Jellybam on the S4 and everything working smoothly. This is a temporary solution for me as the jellybam is clearly not made for S4 as we loose the camera and all other S4 gadget
If anybody now an official rom working well, i would be happy to try it
Rooting S4 GT-I9508
Hi there,
I recently bought the China Mobile 3G Version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 (S4 GT-I9508) here in Shanghai and quite obviously ran into a world without Google / Google apps / Google Play and so on. I kinda knew this would happen and the only reason I purchased this was to have 3G on my phone as I knew I could always root it later. Since you've already rooted your phone I suppose you would be the best person to ask these questions too:-
a) After you rooted your phone, are you still able to go on 3G ?
b) Any restrictions / limitations that you've noticed after you rooted it? I suppose Google Play and all the apps are fine and that you are able to download apps directly from the market?
c) Did you root the phone personally or Did you get someone in some store / etc to do it for you. I would rather prefer giving my phone to someone whose done this quite a few times than going ahead and experimenting on it. Any suggestions on whom/ where I could go to do it?
Thanks
Ben

Hello,
i bought GT-I9508 in china, too, and can use Google store, gmail, map now.
i've rooted my phone and installed TWRP recovery
and used "ROM Manager" to download and install gapps
then i've come to be able to use gapps.
but at this time, there was a problem that sometimes an error occurred which said "com.google.process.gapps has stopped",
so i've used "Titanium Backup" to uninstall gapps except store, gmail, google account (removed apps contained gapps but i don't use).
after that i've never seen the error but i don't know if this solution is really effective, so there still might be any error.
in addition, after i installed gapps using ROM Manager, i couldn't open ROM Manager any more, so i've uninstalled it, too.

Hello DUSKnenixs, thank you for your answer!!
So, I have some question... First, I'm noob in android world...
What are you meaning by "dwn mode" and "csc file" ?
What I have doing yesterday:
- first, I have installing TWRP by ODIN to come back in the factory setting
- after, I have installing the French ROM (GT-I9505 phone I9505XXUBMEA_I9505OXXBMF1_I9505XXUBMEA_HOME) by ODIN, but this step are not finnish, the status in ODIN was "FAIL" when the progress was about 95%
- after I have reboot the phone and let him start with this French ROM
I have not tested everything but the phone displays a Wifi default and asked to reboot. Even after reboot, it is impossible to activate the WIFI.
So, can you explain me, step by step what I have to do and with witch file & tool..?
Thank you by advance!!

Any i9505 AOSP rom will work on your Chinese SGS4 phone. The Chinese version, i9508 is basically i9505 with special software and no 4g. I am currently using an Android 4.3 rom on my i9508.
Hello all,
I have find a way to make my S4 completely in French (with French keyboard and dictionary) and with all Google App fully working without flash it with another ROM.
If someone are interested, please let me know and I'll explain step by step what i have done on my phone.

Hi,
I own a GS4 - i9505G - with google ROM edition v 4.3.
yesterday I tried to upgrade the ROM to 4.42 (Google ROM clean version without any tweaks, found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341026).
After the upgrade, the UI & ROM seem to work fine but I have no carrier signal.
When I perform the mobile networks operators' search I can see all networks and by clicking "Choose automatically" I managed to renew the signal. However, after a very short while the signal is lost again (manual joining to the network does not work at all).
I searched and found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025
and this lead me to use ODIN and flash the modem (twice, as recomended).
I used the modem file exactly for my phone base version which is: XXUBMH1.
However, even after flashing twice - still no signal....
Since I had Nandroid backup (always VERY highly recommended) I returned to the original 4.3 ROM version and then everything worked fine.
I also made another try to identify the issue and installed the 4.42 Google ROM edition which is not the Google clean original version and performed a factory wipe and cleaning everything
(this time the ROM I used was downloaded from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2557353).
However, same story and no signal....
I would very much appreciate any idea how to solve this issue.
By the way - from December I began to receive a notification on the device that an upgrade ROM was downloaded requesting me to click to install. However, when I tried to operate it the process always failed in the first steps (don't remember the error code). If anyone can direct me where to delete the file that was downloaded - it will also be very helpful due to the low free memory on the device.
Thanks in advance for all the help!
I now that for some roms you need to use TWRP recovery, or you will get "no signal".
Try flashing the rom with TWRP recovery and see if that solves your problems.
thanks but no cure yet

Thanks for the advice!
However, it seems that the cure is elsewhere. I had the PhilZ 6, and now converted to TWRP, but issue stays the same.
It appears that the signal is not totally lost, but the network connection can only be maintained for a short while, and only after a reset and when choosing automatic network registration. Soon after the signal disappears.
All other wireless aspects (WIFI, BT) seem to be working fine like before.
I am still breaking my teeth for a solution here...
Thanks.
Why are you installing a rom for the i9505 on a i9505G?
That would probably explain your issues.
You say that your phone is I9505G, but both of those roms are for I9505. Don't ever do such thing. You're lucky you didn't brick your phone. Check your IMEI
thanks for the note

Indeed I didn't notice the difference and thank you for this very important note.
I would like to elaborate - my phone was bought as a standard i9505, but I installed a clean Google Edition ROM on it and then checked under "Settings"/"About phone" menu to see the Model number "GT-I9505G".
I am now not so sure that this is the true model of I9505G, even though this is the information shown on the phone. If the model relates only to original Google Rom Edition phones then I am wrong and probably confused you.
My IMEI is: 3576********. Can you help me with the true definition and the files that I need to install?
thank you for the important note

First of all know this: You should never reveal your IMEI, it's not safe. Edit your post and hide your Imei number.
Now check again if the Imei that you see inside settings> is the same as the one from the back of the phone, under the battery. If its the same then you are fine. As for the device model, you can also find the model under the battery, and if it says that it's a i9505G than that should clear all the confusion.
My advice would be go back to stock official using ODIN. Grab the latest firmware from sammobile. It's always the safest thing to do, and it should handle all the mess
its a I9505

Many thanks for your message - even though I feel stupid both for not thinking to check "under the hood" and also for publishing the IMEI (now fixed).
It appears that my phone model is I9505. This validates my initial question, how to update the Google Edition ROM (clean version) from 4.3 to 4.42, but avoid the loss of network signal... I will try to take it to a local store and solve my unknown issues with the upgrade by paying a few bucks.
Many thanks anyway!

My last guess is that you are using an incorrect modem. Are you still on the old bootloader?
If you are already on the new bootloader, just flash the latest modem available. If it is correct that you have XXUBMH1, then you are using a modem that is to old for 4.4.2.
this is very true

I think that this is the correct problem identification and that my modem file is not updated for 4.42.
I tried to flash the updated modem file for XXUBMH1 version (in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025), but this did not solve the problem (even after flashing it twice).
Could I flash a different modem file than the one set for the phone base version which I have (or do I risk bricking my device)? and does the base version change after installing the new ROM (I forgot to check this after the new ROM was installed)? If yes then I will re-install it and flash the new modem file which should solve the problem.
Thanks for helping out.
Which modem did you flash? And are you on the old or new bootloader?
Hello everybody,
i just put the a custom rom for the first time and i am actually really happy with this rom.
My friend called me 1h ago, so i noticed that i am hearing my friend fine, but the problem is that he cant hear me.
I tested it with the audio capture and it just sound messy.
Here are all the information:
Omega v33 - XXUGNF1
Android Version 4.4.2
Modellnummer: GT-19505 Black Edition
Basisbandversion I9505XXUGNF1
Kernel:3.4.0-talexop-2+-gb4fe160-dirty
[email protected]#4
I just tried it with the 3.4.0-Adam-2.3, but it is not working, too.
Did i install something wrong?
So which kernel is the right one for me to get the sound problem fixed?

Hi ,
That problem most of the times is modem related , go Omega files /modem flash the same one again or upgrade it to the newest , follow instructions to do it
As shown in OP of Omega V33
Installation:
1. Backup your device (nadroid backup, titanium backup, efs backup ... etc) and save the backup to a safe place.
2. Flash the new bootloder and modems with odin
Bootloader -> BL_I9505XXUFNAD_481100_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_C ERT.tar.md5
If you already have the new Kit Kat bootloader there is no need to flash it again.
Modems XXUFNC9 -> I9505XXUFNC9_GSM_LTE_Modems.tar
Power off device completely, then boot to download mode and flash bootloader (if needed) and modems with odin
Then boot to android and check if the new modem XXUFNC9 flashed ok (if wifi is not working is normal)
3. Boot to Recovery --recommended TWRP, get the latest version from here -> http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/182--
and flash Omega and then boot to android.
You can flash without full wipe if you are coming from a previous Omega Kit Kat version, if not then flash with full wipe
PLEASE FOLLOW THE EASY INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ELSE YOU WILL HAVE VARIOUS ISSUES!
BACKUP FIRST !!
I flashed the LTE_Modem_I9595XXUGNF1 again, but it is still the same problem.
Can i test an older one without any problems, or do you know anything else to solve my problem?

Yes i installed both. I will try some of the LTE/GSM modems now.
I still have the microphone issue.
I Updated the baseband (GSM+LTE) to the newest I9505XXUGNF1, but i cant fix this microphone problem. It sounds like it is raining or something like the television where u cant get a programm.
I searched now about 5hours, but this is something i cant get fixed.
Please anyone here who can help with this issue?

What did u do wrong?
i had the same problem a few days back.
i tought i was doomed !!!
listen up, this is what you need to do.
download the stock firmware from sammobile.
get your phone in download mode and hook it up with odin, then install the stock firmware, the good news is: You will not lose your apps, settings or files.
Everything remains the way it is.
in my case (i think) is that i tried to root it with a broken USB cable.
the other tought was that i used CF-Autoroot from chainfires website, it shows that its for android 5.01 while i was on 4.4.
at least, i hope you can use my info, please let me know if it helped for you
When it happened to me, i allmost ****ted myself

Thank you very much Racinghart91 . I have managed to fix the problem with Kies.
The main problem was that Kies was not recognizing my phone model, and I found out that the model as to be inserted in Keis with capital letters. With that Kies have found my correct firmware and I have updated it, and now its all good.
And I have a back up of all, ROM and apps . Now I can try another ROOT, and if it failde I have now all the backups I need.
By the way do you guys know any sucessful ROOT for my Phone, I have the Android version 4.4.4
Model : SM-N910F
SSN : N910FGSMH
Another question, should I wait for the next Android update 5.0, or ROOT my Note 4 befor the update?
I have successfully ROOT my wifes Note 3, and Now its much faster tahn my Note 4, in Apps, games all, damn how is that possible ?
Thanks once again.

If Samsung did make an update for your phone(since it isn't rooted) it would've come via OTA to you. So it seems that Samsung didn't care to update your phone so I'm sorry but your out of luck. There is no way to update your phone officially. So the final option is to flash a custom ROM for your device which is based on a higher android version than yours preferably 4.4 or more as you stated, try googling around the internet I'm sure you'll find a solution. But be advised it comes with risks. I rooted my device but I have never flashed a custom ROM for it. But if your phone is rooted, you'll find numerous ways to customize and theme your device to match your desired android version. I was able to theme one of my Samsung devices running 4.4.2 to nearly match android marshmallow 6.0.1.......Don't give up!! There's a lot you can do to make your outdated android look totally awesome and unique

Is your watch using Bluetooth for the connection? Our group has created a CM11 (4.4.4 kitkat) build, but it doesn't have working bluetooth yet.
Be sure to check it. We will fix the bluetooth.
Thanks to you,

The red exclamation mark is always there. What recovery did you flash? Because if it stays on that screen, but you hold the button combination, that probably means that you flashed a incompatible recovery.
Okay this is a very long story. I have had this old S4 in my drawer and decided to update and refresh it. I found on SamMobile that lollipop was available for it, so I downloaded that. After flashing that to my S4 the phone could not detect a sim card. I then suddenly realized I had flashed the wrong ROM. I live in Australia and I am connected to a carrier called Telstra, but instead of flashing that one I flashed a ROM meant for unlocked phones. So now I am in trouble and I need your guys help! Please help me out on this and if you need any questions to help me just ask!

No problem at all, you can download another rom, that related to your region and flash it in same way, or if you want to get the most from your device you can try a custom rom and I recommend the following for you if you want to get the best performance
- Echoerom
- Albe95 rom
-Omega Rom

No I have lost connection to my baseband and IMEI. Because I did not backup my EFS. Please help!
Did you try flashing a stock ROM for your carrier?
Try flashing the rom meant for your phone. Things might be fine.
If no..then go to the store they'll fix it for you in no time
