Hello, on this picture you can see my stats, but when I click on WhatsApp, it says that it is has been used for 2 minutes, actually I was using it for almost 30 minutes.

same thing is with few other apps, usage on battery stats is 2mins, but real usage is much longer
Why is my nexus not showing properly my usage? or is this some android issue...
I was on 9gag for about 40 minutes, stats say i was 1 minute :S

Same here..I use Facebook & xda App for hours but it shows only 15 or 16min usage total..
If the phone is connected to the pc by usb the battery counter is somehow beeing reset sometimes.Have no idea why though.
My nexus was not connected to pc or charger..

Maybe it only displays the last session and not all sessions. Time it roughly next time and then look in settings.
Well I am timing all the time, I was on whatsapp messaging for a 45mins and on battery stats it says http://i.imgur.com/IalAlHm.png

I don`t use Whatsapp myself bro so can`t realy tell whats going on. Maybe its a Whatsapp issue with android 4.2.2. Other apps give actual times in settings?
It's not the issue with one app...almost every app that i tried has got this issue..i use xda app a lot.but when i look at battery stats at the end of the day,all it shows is hardly 3 or 4mins usage.same case with facebook, messaging app etc

You "using" the app doesn't count until the APP is actually doing something such as sending/receiving data. That of-course takes milliseconds so at the end of the day with 2hrs of "use" it will show maybe 10mins of CPU time because that's all it used.
The rest of the time the APP is sitting there idle with the "Screen" being used since it's on and displaying information in whatsapp or whatever you have open.

Android system used 46% of battery! Ideas?

What's so weird about that? Your device has been on for nearly 8 hours and it's at 73% battery life. You've clearly not been using the device very much in that time, so obviously the system processes will have a higher percentage than anything else.
Exactly the same thing happened with me today. I've never had android system consuming more battery than my screen, and today the android system battery consumption stood at almost 50% (twice that of screen). The tablet was idle for around 12 hours (WiFi off) and the battery fell by around 15%. Never ever happened before.
I upgraded to 4.2 a couple of days back.

Do you use Llama or any other app like that by any chance? I'm just trying to figure out what could be the root cause of this
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
same for me with the new 3g 32gb and 4.2
tablet been on 3 hours and 36 mins done nothing with it and its already used 25% battery
Android OS is at 64%
old 16gb with 4.2 on, same time and just sitting doing nothing only used 3% battery
Android OS at 4%
any thoughts ??
Bob
Haven't been able to figure out the reason unfortunately. If I do, would definitely post on here. Hope you guys would do the same.

hello im new to android coming over from wp8 (nokia 920) which i LOVE to death but ive been through 6 920s since launch for a few different reason. Att allowed me to get the g2 for $50 bucks and i get to keep this 920. ive read alot obout the g2s battery and i just wanted to know what i need to disable besides the usual nfc gps stuff to make my battery last longer. I had the screen on for no more than 10 minutes and my batter dropped from 95 to 87 and all i did was look around in settings and take 2 pics with no flash the screen brightness is set to 60 auto.
You have to allow it to go through about 4 charge cycles to calibrate and then your battery life will be insane.

Don't install anything or do anything. Give it a few days (after the new honeymoon phase) of normal use...you'll get it going the entire day. That drop is fine, don't worry about it.

Don't turn on the screen.... Ever... and your battery life will be amazing!
Apps can be your best friend and worst enemy. Make sure that you don't have rogue apps eatting your batter and/or apps that have a lot of sleep wake issues and don't let your phone go into deep sleep. Use battery stats apps and sleep wake apps to track down those unwanted apps

Don't use it?
But seriously. If you plan to not to use that ****ton of features LG included, you can simply root it, install Titanium Backup, and freeze those processes.
Also disabling WiFi hotspots and GPS is said to be the greatest battery saver.
I have CID off, GPS and use 2x battery app.

I assumed it was caller ID, but I can't see how that would save battery life, beside maybe freezing the bloatware app that's on the Verizon version (not sure if it's on the other versions).
Sup peeps,
Just picked up the note 3 yesterday.
The battery life has been pretty abysmal compared to my note 2...
1 hr of Web browsing and photo editing ran down 18%... No video or 3d rendering.
Also, the superior posterior aspect of the phone is abnormally warm with just plain use... Again, no video or 3d rendering.
Anyone else experiencing these issues?

Do you try see which app drain you battery?
Setting >>>>>>battery
Sent from my Nexus 10 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yes. First thing I did a actually. Mostly screen consumption and I am running at lowest screen brightness but not power saving. I never had to worry about these things with the note 2.
Here is my current usage after recharging again... Not as fast of drain but still bad for forum and Web browsing. Blue tooth and gps off but I am using 4g.

I use power saver mode unless I'm doing something cpu intensive but texting, web browsing, forums you don't need the full cpu power

I actually recommend going into dev options and enable cpu monitor. My note 3 was getting terrible battery because of indexing. And only found out why from the mon. removed my sd to fix it.
To enable dev options tap on the build# a few times.

Similar for me. I unplugged mine around 11am this morning and actually didnt use it at all. It sat on the table while I worked around the house. While on wifi it was down to 55% less than 4 hours later. Battery shows exchange services is killing me with over 70% usage. Coming from a note 2 i never had this issue. In fact, my note 2 was amazing with the exact same setup.
Since this is being used for work, I need to use exchange and it needs to be set to push email. Anyone else use exchange and have similar issues?
My battery is really long lasting :/

I charged my phone all night long and unplugged it. I didn't touch it for several hours and now it's at 94%.

Nothing. Your device and all devices consume power on standby, this is unavoidable. Your battery going down 6% in almost 4.5hrs is not bad.
If you want to reduce standby consumption disable sync, GPS, mobile data, WiFi, and limit the number of background processes in developer options.
Your Android system is slightly high but really you don't have a problem.
Basically if your device is not charging it is discharging.

agreed.. plus your android os is not really high its just that you werent really using the phone so the os on standby was pretty much only thing consuming your battery.. now if you did use it id guarantee your display wouldve been highest.. i removed bloat.. got all sync turned off except for gmail and a few other ones i need and i use greenify.. i leave wifi or 4g on alll the time but i think even with my stuff on id get better lofe than you did cuz the way my phone is set up.. if uoure rooted i highly recommend greenify

Relax. .
6% battery in 4 hours is not bad. There does seem to be random wake locks with the s5 tho. My Note 3 had the same problems. I have no idea what triggers it.
Sent from my SM-G900V using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Ok guys, I keep hearing people ranting and raving about this phone's battery, however I feel that mine is either faulty or everyone else is exaggerating. On a typical day, of normal usage, heavy web browsing, occasional 10 minute game session, I can get about 4 hours screen on time, and about 14 hours total time before it's dead and I need to charge. I have minimal wake-locks now that I've figured the majority of them out, and keep location services on device sensor only. My device is deep sleeping more than being awake, and will last quite a while while asleep, battery doesn't seem to abnormally drain while asleep. Every time I've been able to track it down to a wake-lock issue if it has.
It's draining very fast (it seems) while screen is on though. Wifi calling is almost always on the majority of the time.
Any ideas? Is this way off? Or is this the norm?
I've done the usual factory restores and all that, and still no improvement.
Thanks!
Example:
Are you using a custom kernel? You could try dorimanx's and heavily skew the CPU towards a lighter load
I used to get 4h on screen time for quite a while, but k realised that it was cos of 4G @ and the way I used my phone. If you read a lot and hardly launch or close anything the battery life gets better very quickly
Sent from my LG-D802
That seems about right.
On stock I get between 4 and 6 hours screen time and about 24 hours on battery. Being on WiFi rather than 3g helps a lot and turning down the screen brightness.
