Either ATT or T-Mobile or both, Will Google Wallet work out of the box
on the Nexus 4?
CC
Yeah, in both cases att and tmo have no power over this. Unless tmo fills their nexus with bloat

I just set it up for the first time ever. It didn't work on my
Galaxy Nexus, but it worked fine on new Nexus 4.
Yes, Google Wallet does work on Nexus 4 with either AT&T or T-Mobile
Hi
Is there any difference in the firmware version of a nexus 4 bought in a google play store or in other place like Handtec?
I ask this because of the different firmware version of the galaxy nexus (takju, yakju, yakjuxw...).
Thank you
Those were because of different regions and features/ CDMA vs gsm and such (I think).
The nexus 4 is the same everywhere. No carrier meddling is why also

Hi guys, I just bought my nexus 4. I'm really hesitant in updating because I also own a nexus 7 and when I updated that, my tablet was just flawed from left to right so I ended up downgrading it back to 4.1.2. Also, I hear that there is a way to enable LTE, but that with the new update the LTE function goes away? I would really appreciate to hear you guys' opinions. Thanks!

I updated my Gnex and my Nexus 7 but i won't update my Nexus 4, i wanna keep my lte connection, it's up to you, if you don't need lte go ahead and update.

Even if you do update to the latest you can still flash a different radio which will give you the option to use lte.
Oh ok just wanted to make sure that I wouldn't lose the LTE option. Does the new update have any flaws? Or are u happy with the new update and what are the differences between 4.2.1 and 4.2.2?

I think a lot of us are on the 4.2.2 update. Those who didn't update are of course on 4.2.1 because they want their LTE. I would like to a say a majority of the members are on 4.2.2.
Some folks are still having Bluetooth and WiFi issues. Problems like the difficulty of connecting to their device and the same for WiFi. This is plaguing some users but not all. Just a small percentage. On my end everything is working fine. It's just weird to hear others are having these problems. I never have any issues with my devices. If you want to update to 4.2.2, I strongly suggest you do a super clean install/update.

Oh ok well it's good to hear that there isn't as many problems with the update as there was with the nexus 7. But I am a bit hesitant because I'm on T-Mobile and I hear that they are about to get LTE in my area. I live in Los Angeles.

Lol. I live in NY and I think LTE is available on T-Mobile here as well.
If you want to use LTE, then don't update yet. If 4.2.1 is working fine don't update it.

Yes. As long as you find the stock rom/custom rom based on what you're looking for.

I couldn't find the 4.2.1 rom on the google website that's why. They only have the 4.2.2 rom.

4.2.2 has been better for battery life, at least for me. You should update it. And for LTE you can flash old radio, but might not work with the latest versions of certain ROMs, so do your research on that. I believe you can just do a nandroid for 4.2.1 (not 100% on this)

Yeah thanks for the advice, and your right about the battery life because I feel that considering that the nexus 4 has a 2100mah battery the battery doesn't last long enough. If I can do a nandroid backup then it would be awesome. I'm pretty new to the nexus 4 scene, so I appreciate everyone's help thus far.

anyone have a link to the 4.2.1 stock ROM. i think my speaker for my phone has gotten lower with the 4.2.2 update and i want to downgrade it.

It's the third one down the list on the "images". Use 7zip to unpack the files and flash away!
EDIT: There is the option to have 4.2.2 with the 33 baseband to retain the LTE, however that has caused problems for people so the only official way to make it work with LTE is to flash 4.2.1 with the 33 base.
The Nexus 7 (2013) 3G may also be affected.

I have Nexus 7 (2013) LTE and put the 4.4 KitKat on it.
I took the Verizon SIM card out of my Samsung Galaxy S4 and keep it in the N7LTE.
For texting I use the Verizon Messaging app which works well - even on KitKat.

N7 2013 LTE: Installed 8sms and cannot make the app to default sms app. No sending with the aps possible. Worked fine within 4.3.1. So Google must changed something. Really bad
So I have been able to use VZW LTE on my Nexus 7 (2013) LTE without issue while using 4.3.1 but when I flashed a factory image directly downloaded from the factory images page, I can no longer access VZW LTE.
I'm just leaving this here in case anybody else had encountered this issue.
Also, as a side note, I bought the N7 LTE from the play store directly, then popped in my SIM card and it works without issue on VZW and I didn't need to contact VZW or anything.

I'm using it on VZW LTE with no problem. I think you have something else going on.
