Hello everyone
I know there are already some roms that come pre-rooted and deodexed, but since my phone model is different (p708g) they are not compatible, so im now trying to do it myself.
I have recently managed to root the V20A (p708g) version by copying the necessary files from the rom made by Homero (all credits to him)
"[ROM KDZ] V20A_00 Jelly Bean L7 | ROOT | CWM | Unlock Booloader | by Homero". and following one tutorial here in XDA I could apply the unlock bootloader and flash CWM. I also enabled Init.d support using an app i found also in XDA. so the next step for me is to deodex the rom, so i can customize it more and apply other scripts such as Supercharger V6.
My intention is to be able to create a custom rom that include all that; root, unlock bootloader, CWM, init.d support, and deodexed. and share it with the other P708g (mexico) users.
So again, i need to know how can i Deodex the rom. I have read many posts and most of them use a tool called "Xultimate", but it havent worked for me, so im searching for some other way to deodexit. Any help is wellcome, im not asking for a step by step instruction (but is also wellcome), I just want to gather as much information as i can about it
Hope you guys can help me.
Thanks!!

I have no experience making a KDZ, what i do is basically extract the system.img.ext4, then mount it on linux, add/remove/modify files, then replace the system.img.ext4 while flashing the original KDZ
with this method, i was able to modify my stock rom(V20A-jellybean) to include: root+CWM+init.d+deodexed, and trying to add some more tweaks (transparent notificatins bar, themes, etc)
i will upload a cwm backup from my rom in a couple of days, so you can flash it to your device. So if you're interested just wait for it
P.D
maybe you can share with me what do you know about making a KDZ and we can work together with this rom :good:
I think I speak through all mexicans (who own an lg l7) by saying thank you for this lol but how is it going with the deodexing? any progress? i found this tutorial to deodex http://goo.gl/SqgbV hope it helps you!

Im glad to say, i made it!
i managed to deodexit using the android kitchen, so far so well, everything works good. the main reason i wanted to deodexit was to be able to use the supercharger v6 script, and it worked, now im trying to take what i did and make a KDZ rom, but im having some problems.
also, as you may know, in order to make the supercharger script work, init.d suppourt is needed, as well as patching the "services.jar", i also managed to do that, but only after flashing the rom (via replacing the "system.img.ext4" during flashing the original kdz), so im trying to find a way to include that also in the KDZ file, but i haven't been lucky.
Im also trying to include some mods, sucha as transparent notificantion area, and a button to "reboot recovery" in the power menu, but im new with all this, so i think im not going to include that yet
it's been a very busy week so i haven't work on it as much as i want, but the progress is still going, just be a little bit more patience, im not giving up on this

Hi.
I did finish that ROM, but almost at the same time CM10 began to be compatible with P708 model, so I never published the ROM.
honestly it was nothing special compared to cm10. And now we have CM10.2 and slimbean with support for p708 (well, almost)
I don't know if I still have all the files I used to make the deodexed rom. if you really prefer to use a stock rom I could take a look and see if i can make it again, but I suggest you to try a newer rom, CM10.2 by cr3pt, is a good choice
Hola

Try to post in english only, as is one of the forum rules, if you don't know enough english to write a post you should use private messages, otherwisse moderators could delete your posts.
The main advantage on CM.10.2 by cr3pt, is that NFC is disabled at kernel level, that means that the battery is not drained like in other ROMS I have more than 15 hours of battery life with normal usage.
the main disadvantage is that the camera is working with 6 mp only.

Do these to prepare your phone, then go to the development section, choose a ROM of your liking and install it following the instructions on the ROM thread. Good luck.

If you saw the development section, but not as installed in the devices. It is to be made a few steps before, for example, make a Back Up Software. And all this is how.
Help me?
PS: I'm using Google translator, since I'm not much Chilean Inlges. Sorry.

Hello, there will be some way to get a generic firmware ROM just for Latin America? GEL (LATAM)? Someone at Xda Developers can work on it?? Or explain why you can not get it?
I'm confused. Can you help? I have a Xperia Arc, full of junk that they put the telephone company and the android version 2.3.2. Please, can you explain how I can easily remove the phone company's firmware by another generic firmware (for latin america Lt15a) and as I update to version 2.3.4?
Sorry for the bad translation, not English.
Thank you.

Just use the generic world rom indicated at namaste guide and update from there, the rom includes spanish language, and its almost free from junk (bloatware), whatever u dont like just remove it, there's also guides for that.
PD: Soy de México y no he tenido problemas tras haber seguido esa guia.
Gracias
Hello friend, thanks for your answer. But tell me, I read here that the World Generic ROM is actually the ROM of the Nordic region (East Europe) and is therefore LT15i. You say you did flash the ARC with this ROM; but, you have a problem with this with the 3G? Since your Arc is LT15a and as we know the international version (LT15i) does not support 3G in America.
Now, if you can flash this ROM, you could upgrade to 2.3.4 android?? And if you did, as you did?
Thanks and excuse my English.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*In order to get 3G it doesn't matter if the ROM is LT15i or LT15a, it's the same. What it truly matters is the hardware, if you bought like me an european phone, you'll never get 3G, to get 3G in America you need to buy it with the hardware version for America, for example any phone company who sells Xperia Arcs in Mexico or the US is selling the Arc with the hardware 3G capable.
The best way is buy it in America, making sure its 3G capable beforehand, from there it doesn't matter if you install ROM LT15i or LT15a or if you personalize it, it will keep having 3G anyways. Imagine, my phone without bloatware goes from off to ready in 30 secs or less.
Now, on the update to 2.3.4, personally i wouldn't reccomend it, i stayed at 2.3.3 compilation 3.0.1.A.0.145, why? because of the following:
2.3.4 doesn't support some widgets, like extended controls for example.
2.3.4 can't be done via OTA (from the phone, using WIFI), the only way is with PC companion, which means you'll be losing root.
2.3.4 is seeming to cause some hardware modification, in such a way that if you want root someday, and decide to flash downgrade to get root afterwards, it will cause the problem with battery 0% and the "RED Led of Death", and as today there is no solution for that.
I'd reccomend not take the risk, follow the namaste guide and root your phone, then do OTA upgrade, and stay there, the PC Companion will keep telling you there's an update available to 2.3.4, but always do reject it since you would lose root.
EDIT: I just checked, seems like 2.3.4 is available via OTA when following namaste guide, but i wont be risking it, from my actual version i can easily flash another rom or downgrades for reparations with no danger at all.
Amigo!!! Hermano!!!
Ayudeme, porfavor. Soy algo despistado.
Gracias
Friend! Brother!
You do not know how much you have clarified many of my doubts. but I've read the guide, this takes you directly to upgrade to 2.3.4. In that part of the guide then I must stay to stay at v. 2.3.3, given that I have the v. 2.3.2?? I have my Arc en v. rooter 2.3.2 and then update OTA? But this did not lead directly to 2.3.4? Help me, please. I am somewhat confused.
thanks
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's right, as 2.3.4 is recently available via OTA, theres's the possibility of reaching that version with root and getting the 0% battery problem which its very risky.
Better flash LT15i_3.0.A.2.181_Generic_World (without unlocking bootloader), then root with gingerbreak. Staying there for safety, surely with time a solution is bound to appear in order to get 2.3.4 rooted and without being afraid of the battery problem or Red Led.
Follow the guides to get rid of all the bloatware so your phone can run a lot faster and better.
Or, just if you dare, read carefully about the process and you could unlock the bootloader and install DoomLord's rom which is awesome.
You decide the limit of what can be risked, but whatever you do, read carefully and verify all the steps before actually doing them.
Regards
PD: There's a thread from datagubben, which explains how to get 2.3.4 rooted, it has worked for many ppl, but it seems even the slightest error can be fatal, that could be another choice, with it's risks of course.

Is there any problem flashing either 2.3.3. or .4 on a contract bound phone (I got a lt15a contract bound to telcel, orunning 2.3.2.)?

i dont think there's a problem, since u would get rid of the telcel bloatware and ur phone can be free for using it on another phone companies if desired.
But im not sure if after flashing the full warranty with telcel is still valid.
I would strongly reccomend to avoid 2.3.4 until someone finds a safe solution for the 0% battery problem.
Mil gracias amigo.

Lo siento, no lo sé amigo, desde que instale la rom world generic .181, root, y OTA a la .145, no me he movido de ahi, nunca he tenido necesidad de respaldar mi rom pues ya estaba decidido a quedarme con la world generic.
-------------------------------------------
Sorry, i don't know buddy, ever since i installed wold generic .181, rooted, and OTA to .145, i stayed there, i've never had the need of backup my rom cuz i had already decided to stick to world generic.

Ok I checked forums and apparently it is not possible if you have a locked boot loader (which a contract bound phone has). Unlocking is either very time consuming or costs money (Im paying for mine lol...).
Its all detailed in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1232033
I have a Huawei U8800Pro bought in China and I would like to change the Rom because this is a chinese version, although I can change the language into english.
Well, the steps to follow are:
1.- Root
2.- Install a recovery
3.- Install new Rom
1. For the rooting I have red about the Super Boot. Is there any other specific system for U8800Pro to root it?
2. About the recovery, I have seen the Unofficial CWM Recovery 5.0.2.3, but I'm not sure if this is compatible with the U8800Pro or just the U8800.
3. And finally, about the new Rom, I see that the custom Roms are still developing and they are not completly compatible with Pro version, so I decided to install the official Overseas General version, instead the Chinese version that I have now. But I don't know where to get the Pro official Rom. I found the U8800 V100R001C00B136 (Overseas General version) 2011-05-17, but I'm afraid this is for the non Pro version.
Any help, please?
Hey, I have bricked U8800 PRO. Read this two themes:
[Q] [HELP] phone bricked by flashing the latest frimware from Huawei
[Q] Bricked my phone. Need help!
Well, really thank you for your answer. Then I think that I will continue with the original rom at the moment.
Does it brick with the rooting or installing the recovery as well?

You can check the way in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
For install the CVM, follow this instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1291848
Works perfectly.
At this moment there isn't any custom ROM, we are still waiting really exciting!! I hope 2.3 official update will be at November.

Muchas gracias.

I could not install CyanogenMod 7.1 shakyra a Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, in every post I've read sent to unlock the bootloader, however I have successfully installed V22 Ginger Dx based on Android 2.3.7, it worked fine ... thank you this is no need to unlock the bootloader, just having the phone in root mode and with the latest baseband of 015, I hope someone has managed to install this rom without unlocking the bootloader, and if you have made me want to know how.
I think that minicm is not optimized for stock kernel. That's why you need to unlock the BL and install nAa's kernel.

In my personal experience, I've tried many ROMs and I can tell you all of them are cool. However, they gave errors and became unstable with the time. At the end, I've installed Stormix 2 doing a full wipe, starting all new. I have two days with this ROM and I can tell you it's the best as it hasn't caused the same errors than others did. It goes faster and everything is working. I recommend it to you.
And Im using stock kernel too.

Very good morning to all, xdadeveloperos , hehe
I want to say I am happy to have met you but sooo desperate.
I love the new ROM Sony's 4.3 101, much improved over earlier .
My despair is because I find a simple ROOT method, unique style BYN4ARY ROOT AND RESTORE .
I have used the method of another major XDA , the great DooMLoRD , buuuut , I do not like extra vibration that occurs in STARTING THE DEVICE .
Nor do I like that the phone is turned off ( OFF FULL ) , if the charger is connected VIBRA AGAIN .
DOOM 's work is great, but these two factors bother me too .
I beg, plead and hope that you create a new ROOT BIN4RY style method , which, in my opinion, is the best method ROOT history.
I had it on a Xperia ........ GO and worked PERFECT !:good:
Please XDA friends , find a new method.
BIN4RY if you succeed , I , my children, and my children's children , we sure you will be grateful for generations , hehe
A very strong hug and above all , thank you for your solidarity , selfless talent and intelligence.

So, you think you just ask and someone magically finds a new exploit and creates a one click method for rooting 4.3? No.

That gives me joy to see Spanish people by these sites. Thank you for participating and answering Josman91.:good:
I know there are other methods but not work fine at all.
Ideally ROOT clean and, as in the aforementioned method of installation Byn4ry.
KINGVORTEX:
I'm not demanding anything, I'm just making a suggestion, I'm not one to call, but I hope it would create.
I am very grateful to all the XDA community, peers and also base the great gurus and masters of art and technology.
HUGS TO ALL.
Don't you think that it's already being worked on? This sort of thread is totally unnecessary.
It isn't as easy as someone just asking for it.
Anyway, this is my last word on the matter. I already reported the thread and will not argue back and forth with you.

No quiero ofender a nadie.

I am writing from the gratitude and my intention is good, positive, I would not make anyone feel bad, but if someone believes it is unfortunate that the thread can delete it without problem.
I am a technology enthusiast and I learn a lot with you. Unfortunately my English is not very good, but I try.
I do not want to offend anyone. I'm a fan of all of you, I say it from the heart.
So, I believe this thread doesn't need to go any further.
Root methods will increase as more people find new exploits. This is pretty much the way it works. It takes time, and sometimes will not be discovered for weeks. It depends on the device.
Also folks, remember, XDA requires posting in the "English" language. Native language is ok as long as you also post the translated version. So I have deleted a couple of Spanish only posts.
This thread is currently closed, as really serves no purpose.
Thank You
