Hello,
I installed the JB on my HD2 and it is running with no Problem.
CLK 300MB
Using a 4GB ext / Rest is FAT32 (Sandisc Class 10/32GB)
Installed the JB on NAND and ext.
When I connect now the USB there and activate Mass storage on the HD2 nothing shows on the WinExplorer.
When I disconnect, everything is shown fine on the Dataexplorer on the HD2
Wifi MobileGO shows also the right partitions.
I would expect that the FAT32 can be seen as in JB4.1.2 PACMan that I had before also via USB.
What did I do wrong.
Your assistance is highly apreciated
THX

I've a strange problem with USB mass storage.
After coping files to the device via USB mass storage, I can't see this files on the device. Accessing them from another computer works fine. After rebooting the device, the files are empty (size of 0 KB) or completely gone.
This problem is new. A few weeks ago, different ROMs worked :-(
I've tried several things:
- Using different Android ROMs (e.g. HyperDroid v1.6 worked two weeks ago, today not)
- Using different WinMo ROMs (e.g. Goatrip Android, EPS v5)
- Using different Radios (2.12.50.02, 2.14.50.04, 2.15.50.15)
- Reformated SDCARD
- Reflashed HSPL (1.66)
Now I'm of ideas. Any one else?
lg,
Funny
Maybe try unmounting the sd card first?
It's not possible to use USB mass storage if I unmount the SDCARD first.
I've tried more Android ROMs, cause every ROM I used before was an CM6 ROM. Tested at last with phireMOD Skinny Evo v1.5 - same problem.
And once again: no problems in WinMo.
What's wrong with my phone
It seems to be problem with SDCARD access:
- Copie file via USB to the device
- Renamed to file on the device
- Opend the file on device (from PC via USB)
- Disconnected USB connection
- Check SDCARD via ASTRO: can't see the file
- Unmounted SDCARD
- Removed SDCARD
- Inserted SDCARD
- Got message "Preparing SDCARD"
- Can't start apps
- Tried to unmount SDCARD again: system hangs
I don't understand this problem

+1.
I'm on FroyoStone V3.2
Just use a program like Android Commander to copy files, or switch back to WinMo. It's well known that USB mass storage has some serious flaws.
I'm having the same problem with Bangster too. Sometime, copying single files at a time help but I still get 0kb files.

I'm very suprised, because I never heard about this issue before. But if it's a known problem, I've to accept it
Hello all.
I have 500 gb ntfs hard disk. Originally adam doesnt detect it.
I tried stephenH 'perf update' and it got detected, but this update screwed my 16 gb internal memory card.
So i flashed back to original eden and then installed the recently updated version by stephenH 'perf update new'. It does not have ntfs kernel..
So i formatted my hdd to exFAT... Bt it doesnt get detected.
I hv win 7 in my laptop and by default i was not getting to format it as fat.
So i formatted with 'hp usb format tool' into FAT32....
Bt its still not detected.
Any ideas.... What shud i do to get it detected.
Thanks

Hi everyone, I am having a problem about connecting my hd2 to PC/Mac.
Every time, I plug in my hd2 into Mac, it could not recognize it as a usb driver.
When i plug into Windows, it will show as a card reader, but ask me to insert the sd.
I already choose usb debug, choose Disk drive as default connection type, and still dont work. Also, i read the others post with similar problem and they all suggest to format the sd by SDFormetter, but it didn't work on mine.
The only way for me to transfer data to my sd card is using the Clockworkmod recovery. Do you guys have any idea about that and help me out please.
my hd2 is tmous, and using energy rom. and please help me out

Internal storage as in the phone's nand?? Impossible. You cannot read yaffs2 from windows. However to read the contents of your memory card just select enable USB mass storage option.
It is possible to repartition the internal NAND usng a Windows PC. It has to be done with the HD2 toolkit, and you will lose all data. It is only possible to repartition the system-partition, and not to do anything else. In MAGLDR, choose USB FLASHER, and select the size of your wish in the HD2 Toolkit. Further instructions will appear on your screen.
The HD2 Toolkit:

I'm a complete noob, so go easy PLEASE, (also I've trolled the pages extensively and can't find the same issue - I hope this is not a duplicate request).
Just loaded Aurora (U16) over stock GB on a rooted U8800 (started with 5.0 exp and updated 16 over the top) and superficially at least, it seems with a fair degree of success.
Only problem is that I can't install any apps from the ext sd - I can turn on /off usb storage and the contents are visible to file manager and the pc - It just wont let me install any apps from the sd. Is there some simple setting fix - or have I stuffed the installation up??
Second, issue and maybe related - the internal sd won't show up on the pc when connected via usb, although I can't see any dia consequences if this does not work?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Try fix permissions in cwm.
About internal memory, it's a known issue on Aurora. There's only changing priority method. Which means changing a line in building.prob and it mounts internal only not the sd.
Ah, i'm not sure about mtp thing.
