That changes the display saturation levels ... Not the display temperature

Yellow Tint

So on low brightness the whites seem a bit yellow. Can anyone confirm this?

I think I got ripped off. My phone doesn't have a love brightness setting :/

Its a common problem, at 0% brightness white is a tad yellow but still its much better than having blue/green or pink tint.I've tested lots of S3's in various stores all shows same phenomenon so getting your set swapped wont solve any purpose.

Well even at high brightness settings it looks a bit yellow. When I tilt the phone it looks more white and when I tilt it back you can clearly see the white is a bit yellow.

Yes its a "Bit" yellow on low brightness but on high brightness mine is pure white, its common with AMOLED they are unable to attain LCD whites. However this doesn't bother me much because I'm used to it now, keep in mind its not an tint screen is tuned bit warmer.
Ahh so it isn't just me

You bet!
Well.. It even seems to be a pretty pink compared to the GS Plus. Both at full brightness.

I think it's configured this way because blue pixels expire the quickest in amoled screens </not expert opinion>.
In either case, past phones have been able to use color controls like supercurio's app to change the tint. (And, by then you might've gotten used to it anyway.)

Sorry couldn't resist lol. My Spell Wrecker does that too.
Does it matter which screen setting you have enabled in the Settings app or is it on all of them?

I just checked it against my Note and mine is pinkish. It isn't distinguishable when not doing the comparison though.

Stop comparing displays and enjoy your S3.
I didn't notice it before the comparison and I don't notice it now. Only during. It is a non issue for me
This phone is great. No complaints here.

Galaxy S screen burn-in problem ?

hello. last night i was browsing internet and came to know that SuperAmoled suffers from screen burn-in problem if a static image is displayed for long time. I checked my screen using a screen check app and my device screen is also burn-in problem at status bar area but only visible on Blue and white colour.
is there any fix for it ? or is there are any chances of screen failing due to this ? or any other thing i should be worried about ?
thanks and please ignore my grammar mistakes
Why did you want to check that?

Burn in is a normal thing on Super Amoled screens, as i know every SA screen is affected by this "problem".

This will last forever. Lower ur brightness, that might slow up further burn in.

S4 amoled screen also mura effect?

My phone is 1 month old..
And now I m noticing that there is blue shade on 3-4% part of the screen at bottom in 3-5% opacity...only in 0% brightness.. it wont shows in more than 20% brightness-100...
Its very slightly difference..
I shown my device to my near service centre.. they said there is nothing and its normal..
Screen not looks like that its defected piece.. bcuz its not high opacity shade..
Its hardly feels that its 3-4% opacity or(96% transparent..)
Its not much noticable. If we look closer then still not much noticable.. its very very slightly tint..
I was happy with s4 but now I m worried because I spend hard earned cash 40k on my device.. and I dont want hear that my device is faulty.. :'(
I used s3 and note 2.. and s4 has this too.. not much improvement from s3 and s4 displays..
so, is that normal??
:'(

My s4 has the same issue. A pink tint on the botton. This is my 4° device and no one had a perfect screen. Samsung quality control really is a crap.

yes its normal to happen in amoleds. I have 2 devices with this same tint issue. Just ignore it and enjoy your device unless its really visible in daily usage.

The issue that your device have appear very discret. I got a unit that the screen was terrible. Whites was yellowish and when the device was inclined a very visible green tint appears on whites. The problem is you replace your s4 and to get a baddest. Sorry my bad English.

Yes.. thats why I worried..
Btw I shown my device to service guys they said its normal.. they said "where is tint" I think they dont want to notice..
But as I said.. its not noticable.. I have tint at bottom 3% part of screen which is very less.. new person after holding my device, he cant detect that tint..
I have not tint in all screen like u said yellow or bluish on side..
Mine is not noticable but it has tint below which pretty much less opacity for eg. 2-3% out of 100..
Just wana know ia it normal..? Is it in all amoled screens? Is that tint, we should count it as defect?

Seconded.
If it doesn't hinder your usage of your phone, then just enjoy the screen for the excellent colours etcetera. I'd say a lot of these phones will have a similar issue (or non issue depending on what way you look at it.)

How about this?
It's a pretty unusable interface but they modify the gamma!

You sure this isnt just "vivid" mode where grass is neon green for people with bad eyes?
Try yourself with smallest changes from original position and check with display tester

All it says is it turns it on. Trickster MOD Kernel has color adjustment too. I wonder whether this require CPU power and thus causes battery drain though.

Tap again on the bar and you get to the adjustment interface.
It allows you to increase contrast and change hue.

Instead of using your thumb, I wished they provided some scalers. Very hard to calibrate a screen using the current method.

but... This means that the gamma values can be changed by software and the kernel is not gamma locked!
how about a modiefied rom that provides some scalers to color change interface?

Exactly what I was thinking.
Basically something that allows us to independently adjust Hue, Saturation and Luminance for RGB. :good:

I can't seem to make any improvement using this feature. I can certainly make things worse.
I suspect this feature is to help with color blindness. Best position is top center.
Top center is default.
Try small adjustment. .. very small!

I have. Sometimes I just slightly roll my fingertip.
From what I can tell: Left/Right is Hue/Tint Up/Down is Saturation (maybe some Gamma).

The colors on the V20 hurts my eyes, is there a solution?

The color reproduction is horrific and hurts me eyes. I already used comfort mode and tried color adjustment in accessibility. It didn't help. My previous note 4 was amazing. I can't stand this.

Check out the app called Color Screen Filter, this will run and you can change the Alpha, and RBG colors. I have not been able to get my "perfect" setting yet, but getting closer.
If the colors hurt your eyes, you can always use black and white mode [emoji38]

Have you tried screen color adjustment?
Accessibility - vision - screen color adjustment - manual.
Move the cursor around till you find a color scheme that suites you
Hope this helps
You can use higher (white) Kelvin bulb.
Usually it's between 2700-6500.
Try daylight (5000-6500k) bulb.
BTW, my eyes are nearly blind under 2700k.
