Is Carrier IQ on the S4? This is my first android phone and I remember this was a big deal awhile back.

I have the AT&T version.
I would like to see if Titanium Backup can be used to freeze any type of Carrier IQ functions beyond the 37 I have frozen so far. I have root and TWRP Recovery using Casual, bone stock except for the systems I froze with Titanium Backup.
I believe I have blocked some of what "Carrier IQ" is all about, and the latest OTA update from AT&T never showed up on my S4.
So I'm happy, and interested in comparing lists of apps to freeze.
And an answer to the question about Carrier IQ. What do you mean, the new S4 probably has more of that stuff than ever before, and an above remark would indicate there is no Carrier IQ on the S4 for AT&T handsets.

Since the Verizon was the closest S3 brother I would assume the same would be for the S4. You may have to wait a few weeks for Verizon to release theirs and a forum to open up. Otherwise the general Android section until then.
I have also seen some US Cellular posts and rooting in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252248
Hey! This is my first post on XDA. Nice to be with you all.
I was wondering if it was possible to load the T-Mobile SGH-M919 ROMs on the unlocked Galaxy S4 Google Edition without a problem (like data not working)
Please refrain from yelling at me for wanting to do this.. lol.. but I'm switching to T-Mobile and to me it seems like it would be more work for devs to develop for an entire new Galaxy S4 variant. So would the SGH-M919 ROMs work on it flawlessly?
Thanks guys, I look forward to a great time with you all.
Bump..
Do you bump on XDA?
I'm not sure...
As far as I am aware, it would not be flawless. I'm fairly sure there will at least be issues with data.
Not sure that phone hasn't lanched yet. I say there is a 89 % chance.

And in those rules you will see that after you posted your question in the correct forum you are only allowed one bump each 24 hours.
Thanks
I remember I ran stock on my Note 2 for a few days and I hated the GPS or some symbol ALWAYS in the notification bar and ridiculous WiFi reminders. Other than those 2 things I think I can live with stick for awhile. Anyway to get rid of my 2 complaints without root? Thanks!
Yes, there are a few things that will be hard to adjust to ... For sure the two you mentioned! I remembered about the WiFi nag, but completely forgot about that GPS "eye"!
I agree it'll be rough running stock until the wonderful devs figure this new device out! I'm hopeful for at least root early off because I can't see running without LMT or AdAway for very long LOL

I'm hoping one can still remove the persistent wifi notification by the long press which works on the Note 2. And it would sure be a great surprise if Verizon removed that very annoying GPS/location eye. Regardless, I'll be staying stock.

Device Q&A typically refers to informative questions that a person considers important and needs an answer for it. This original post, while indeed a question by grammatical definition, is more idle banter, a general discussion of sorts.

Please reread the OP. It contains this request for technical information "Anyway to get rid of my 2 complaints without root?"
And forum rule 15 states:
General Forums - For news and announcements relating to your device.
Q&A Help & Troubleshooting forums - For all question threads / posts. If there is no Q&A Help & Troubleshooting forum use the device General Forum
If you have any issue with a moderator action, please take it to PMs.
Highlighted that as apparently some people missed this^^^^^^^^^^ My PM "door" is always open.

I know that there is only a limited number of the edge made but I was wondering if this forum will ever be split into carrier specific pages. I now own the AT&T variant coming from the note 4 and feel that our device should be split into separate forums based on carrier like the note 4 is. Us AT&T and Verizon users do not have root and can not use alot of the stuff in delopment section yet or things still to come. Also I feel like we can't start a efficient bounty thread for root not having our own forum. Maybe a moderator can set up forums for different carriers or maybe this is a shot in the dark. Comment if you have an opinion.

I thought it be a good idea to make a T mobile specific general thread
Question What people are with T mobile and or running a Tmobile phone on another carrier?
Just curious
Damn no T mobile peeps. Or are u all too lazy to post.......

Yo. On tmo here.
This is a specific and finite amount of users due to the cost and availability of the phone. I see that the forum is active but not like the note 4 or m8. If you look someone posted about the tmo update. Its a pity that it was only for a language update. Nothing fir the battery or panels.
