have you logged in on Dropbox on your s4?
At first it didn't seem to work at my account as well, but after a few days it did. So just be patient

I've not got it either. How do I check the progress?

From when I did it with my S3 I think I had to upload a photo and give my phone access to Dropbox by signing in through account sync.
Incidentally, I still have 6 months or so left of the original S3 50GB but it hasn't updated with any more/a new expiry date for the 50GB I'm due with the S4. It will be interesting to see what happens when the S3 space ends.

Anyone could upload Dropbox 50gb apk?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Its not the apk that gives you the 50g dropbox.
Please correct me of I'm wrong
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium

Dropbox has requested to xda before that any modded dropbox apks that gives free space be removed from this site.
So no.
Also, they were flagging dropbox accounts with previous usage of the apk and removing the unfairly earned storage.

You need to add Dropbox account in Settings -> Accounts Tab -> Cloud. When you log in, it will automatically allocate you 50gb space. This is how I got 50gb space.

Transfer data from iPhone to Galaxy S3?

Hey everyone! This is my first post to xda. I have had an iPhone since it's first release. I've owned every generation up to the 4s. Anyway, I've finally decided to make the switch to Android. I think the Galaxy S3 is an incredible device and I am quickly falling in love with it. That being said, I am having a hard time finding a way to transfer my data from the iPhone to the S3. I would like to transfer my:
Contacts
Pictures
Messages (sms and mms)
Email accounts
I know that Samsung released an app for this named "Easy Phone Sync", but it is only available in the UK to download. Other similar apps only seem to sync itunes music and play lists. And not the contacts or messages. Could anyone please help me on how to make this switch? I'd really appreciate it.

If you said the Samsung app is only available in UK, google the apk and install it yourself

Thank you for your fast reply. I did try this and wasn't able to find the apk to install.

easyphonesync dot com
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.galaxysync.android.app however it says it cannot be installed in my country. UK only. :/
I use a Mac and had my contacts synced to Address Book, so I ended up syncing that with google. That takes care of the contacts. Could also copy the contacts to the sim, if youre going to use the same sim.
Photos I had syncing with iphoto, so if I want I could just copy the pictures to Dropbox and copy them over to the phone.
Email accounts I just put them in manually. @me accounts can work with imap and is working on my device.
SMS/MMS I lost which isnt a big deal for me.
*edited for the apps not working outside the UK.
It says it is only available for download in the UK. It won't let me download. Is there a way to be able to download UK apps?

On your PC do a sync with itunes from your iPhone, and also do a back up in case your iPhone backups to iCloud.
Once you have that done download and install Samsung Kies it should detect you have an apple device backup and it will read that in and allow you to transfer the items you ask for into your Samsung galaxy s3 phone. This is the easiest way. No need to download any other apps.

For music its not so good. The transfer speed is slooooooow..lol
Music I would do it through the itunes, air twist in angroid. The contacts I would import them to Gmail account since android is based on google. Pictures can be upload. To the cloud. Other options is that any authorized store can sync everything on your phone

try out MoboRobo, it performs some sync operations between iPhone and Android - http://is.gd/VvSEDm

Yes, DevHost. Just letting people know, as there may be some users who are unaware of that site
I'd stay away from CX.com. I was sucked in by the amount of free storage they allowed, but in the process of backing up my files more than half of the files on my hard drive were deleted. I did extensive searching, and they were not moved - they were gone. I emailed CX a half dozen times begging for help, hoping it was part of their backup process and that they could help me easily restore the files. I never got a response to any of my emails, and when logged into my account the dashboard said I had no outstanding inquiries - my emails to tech support disappeared just like my files.
In the end I had to go through 500 folders, each with 3-5 subfolders and many files in each one, to find the stuff that had been erased and individually download them back to my PC. There wasn't even a way to DL the folders with all their contents; I had to DL each and every one, one at a time.
Steer clear, and good luck.

Good to know, I actually only tried it once but have since moved to D-H.ST as my main source of uploading, well that and my box, dropbox, accounts
Thanks for sharing! Can I ask a question though, Do any of these cloud services not have a upload size file limit on a free account? I think dev-host says 512mb and CX has a 200mb limit and mediafire also had some limits. I don't remember Box or Dropbox, but are there others(free accounts)?
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
Dropbox or Box hasnt got any limit, except the space your storage. Btw, if you install Box on your Xperia, you will get free 50GB space
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
If I'm not mistaken box does have an upload size limit (100mb) for free account...but its been a while since I've tried. that was also from the app.

dropbox 50gb?

Hi
I just login to dropbox on my note 2 (not on the first boot), and I am not getting the 50gb of extra space.
Do this only work if I login right after a fabric reset? Or I need to wait days?
Any info?
Same here. Maybe because I allready got extra space from my S3.
Gesendet von meinem GT-N7100 mit Tapatalk 2

Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
I don't own an s3 or claimed any other 50gb promotion before
If u haven't had the offer before login on line you may have to perform some of the tasks required to get extra space for example put link on Facebook , share a folder
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Worked for me.
You have to go through dropboxs getting started tutorial thing to get it. (If you haven't yet).
It will also fail if you tried to get extra space with a manipulated dropbox apk in the past. In that case tge droobox support can reset that flag for you.
yeah, go to: dropbox.com/gs
and do some of those. (like - install the app, share a folder. nothing too exciting)
I did all of that before, but could be because I tried to get 25gb before with a modified apk.
I sent a ticket
Will Probably be the reason Drop bOx are likely to have restricted your Account One way round Could be to recreate a new Account

New cloud storage app

Great service and you get 15 GB just for signing up (5 gigs on sign up and 10 gigs from the promotion they are running).
And if you use the link below to sign up we BOTH get 5 more gigs!
It's called jotta cloud and I am liking it more than drop box. And having my files separated by device is nice (PC, Android, etc).

Some more info provided by another user:
If you sign up till the end of November you will receive 15 GB storage. 10 GB is a bonus for early adopters, the basic and free version of the service will offer 5 GB. But what is interesting the Jottacloud Android app backup and recovery functions and they work really very well.
Some first impressions:
- the online version of the service is in Norwegian by default and you have to switch it manually from Bokmal to English, German, etc.
- in order to receive the extra storage you you have to set up and do at least one synchronisation. After that the extra space should become available to you
- the recovery function works really well and I wonder if it can be used for syncing accross devices (like tablets and smartphones). I cannot test it because I have only one device. Is anyone who can figure it out?
- what is nice you can choose if syncing/Android backup should be done over WiFI/3G
- the upload is blazingly fast. The upload saturates my 40/4 Mb VDSL. I use different storages and Jottacloud is one of the best (like Russian Yandex or Swiss Wuala), far faster than Dropbox or Sugarsync
- there are no size limitations - I uploaded a DVD ISO file (4.3 gigabytes) and had absolutely no problems with it.
- as in other services there is a referral program and one can enlarge the storage space up to 100 GB (according to the service: Invite friends to Jottacloud.Your friend will receive an invitation to Jottacloud by e-mail. Your friend clicks on the link and sign up on Jottacloud. Both you and your friend gets 5 GB of bonus storage You can get up to 100 GB bonus storage).

Used the link and synchronize mms, got 20 gigs. Thanks for the info. The service on my android doesn't appear to let me choose the files or folders to sync. Autosync will only let you sync entire category you pick? 22 thousand pictures, no way. on the laptop I have Linux mint and it won't even let you upload a file to the web interface, I'm sure windows and other more popular OS will sync okay. Thanks again bro.

Dropbox Replacement?

I like that I get the storage with Dropbox with my S4, but I am a little concerned over their privacy policy. I've been eyeing SpiderOak, but I don't know if there is a way to get my S4 to auto-upload SpiderOak, or something similar. I'd even be ok with it encrypting things before they get to DropBox. Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions here?
I use Drop box just for Pictures..take a pic bam goes right to it.I have also was wondering if there was something else out there but for now Drop box seems pretty good haven't had any issues...

Personally I use google drive. But these clouds are good and bad. 10 years later dropbox may still be around but smaller sites may be down or gone. Privacy seems to be the big trend now so I try to let one company (google) store my info rather than having several companies have my info. Samsung probably has your info too. Eye tracking. Clever name. Just call it I'm Tracking you.
Jokes aside the best thing to do is to encrypt your data then put it into the cloud. Takes more time but if its valued pics and videos or docs then its worth it. Other sites you could check are box, copy, and skydrive but im sure they all have the same privacy policies.

You can try mega, I believe it has the option to auto upload like dropbox. Oh and you also get 50 gbs of storage for free just by making an account.

I try not to upload anything to any cloud storage without encrypting it first if I would not want the contents on the evening news. Even if it is mundane, boring, everyday data I try to keep it in a secure container before sending it up. I know, email is not any more secure than cloud storage, but I don't email out my financial or more personal information either. I am just getting into the Android OS, but am looking at Cryptonite for a mobile solution. It appears that Cryptonite is compatible with Truecrypt, which would be wonderful. Would be even better if the Linux version of TC could be ported over. Or, maybe it can be. Perhaps someone with more knowledge in that area could offer some direction.
I use Ubuntu One.

I still mainly use and trust Dropbox. FYI, Norton also has cloud service called Norton Zone. They start off with only giving you 5GB, but if you install the free Norton Antivirus or Utilities app from play store they bump you up to 50MB even if you delete the free app.
