Hi there, I'm recently looking for an android 2.2+ nooter for NST and NST glow, because one important reader app only runs on android2.2+
But I can hardly tell the android version, merely by judging from the pack name on Nooter project list.
Is it right that "glownooter-1-12-25.zip" is Android1.12.25?
I'm not quite sure because "touchnooter-2-1-31.zip" was released 1 year before "glownooter-1-12-25.zip" and yet it's android 2.1 already.
All packs will be 2.1 based as that is what the NST base is based on. There is some effort to get CM7 (2.3 base) ported, but I have not been following it very closely so I am not sure how much progress is being made

Hi everyone,
I just flashed the ChuckyRom along with Radio v.2.12. I've also been using Android on my HD2 (MUCH thanks to all the talented devs on-board the project) and wondered why I didn't get a phone with Android OS from the getgo. That thought led me to the following super-newbie questions:
1) What's the current status on flashable Android-based rom development? I've been flashing so many WinMo-based roms. Is there an Android-based one, so I can have it as the standard OS on my phone?
(I've heard from quite a few people that I can have Android boot up automatically from start-up using a few tweaks. However, this would still involve booting up from SD card as opposed to having it flashed permanently on my phone.)
2) What seems to be the biggest hurdle to overcome in getting Android OS flashed on an HD2?
Thanks in advance for all of your inputs.
Best,
John
1. It is not a priority, but Cotulla (remember that name) is believed to be working on it, rumour has it it's going to be released even this month. Not seen this confirmed by an official source though, so don't expect it.
2. Not too experienced myself, but from what I've heard it's about decrypting, or making Android compatible with, this filesystem called NAND. A flash-able ROM could probably have been here already, but the devs wanted to focus on delivering quality & bugfree ROMs first, and bonuses such as NAND later on.
Here goes, I received a micro velocity Cruz t105 tablet from a friend..its a little tacky. Anyway.being its a little older most of the site links and apps that I can find are outdated.
What I'm asking is. I'm pretty new to the android development. I've seen there a custom ROMs for the device.also I've seen that u can use z4root and abd to modify it. Are these apps android specific.like can i use them on any android device.or do I need to find the correct file for the specific device.

I have been active in the Linux community for years. Yet, I am completely lost with Android. Let me offer some assumptions. Some will be true and some are probably false. Would some kind person please point out my errors?
Versions of the android o/s include a kernel and the base applications
Applications get their hooks from the kernel which is why the ICS browser probably won't run on Froyo.
Applications are generally hardware agnostic
Therefore, it is the kernel that determines the version of android.
Therefore, if I successfully compile a new kernel to the version that ICS is using, I can migrate the ICS base apps and I am running ICS.
No need for diplomacy. Moreover, this is an intellectual exercise - my phone runs just fine with Froyo

Thanks. Good stuff. I recall Zores from Mplayer which I still use.
Hi. I'm a 17-year old developer from the Netherlands, who was the first to get Ice Cream Sandwich booting on the HTC Desire. Then I released MIUI, CM7 and AOKP for the HTC Flyer and I was the first with every one of them
I have also been repackaging factory images for Android 4.3 for the Nexus 7 to make flashable ZIPs, and I released a nightly build of OmniROM. In case you're wondering why OmniROM Unofficial Build is not getting an update: I preferred to spend my time to prepare for KitKat.
But now that KitKat is available, I want to work as quick as possible to give you the latest best stuff for our Nexus 7. A custom ROM with features from Android 4.3 custom ROMs is what I strive to. However, I don't have a server or fast machine which is capable of compiling Android in a few hours (my machine with a dual core E2180 takes about 9 hours). This is really counter-productive as I need that box for other purposes as well. So I was wondering if anyone can give me access to a Linux box, with SSH access, and at least about 50GB free space (Ubuntu preferred). That way, I can release updates for unofficial builds of KitKat with new features much quicker.
If you think you have a machine that may be suitable for this, please reply And thanks in advance!
Sorry, I do not own such a machine, but I came here to vouch for this guy.
He was an excellent guy to have around the Flyer forums, and is sure one heck of a developer.
If you do have a box to spare, I would recommend giving it to Chaosz-X
Hey guys!!
I am new around here so I apologize for any brake of rules I might be doing around here. You are welcomed to notify my about them
I just got a Geeksphone Peak. On the box it came with Firefox OS, of course. I had it for a few days and then flashed Android in there. I am not sure how, but it looks like Firefox OS is not there anymore, or I can't find it. Any idea how to flash Firefox OS again here so I can have both?
And another question, is there possible to have another version of Android, a lower one? I have Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich but probably the system would run faster in an older version of Android.
Thanks in advance!
As far as I know, it is not officially supported to have dualboot. So you have Androd or Firefox OS. You can download the old images here: downloads.geeksphone.com (sorry I cannot post links because I am new user). But Geekpshone has dropped support of Peak so there is no current built. I am trying really hard to build it but so far no success.
As for the Android - where did you downloaded it? You would have to download old built which is not built anywhere - so you would have to build it yourself.
