Hi guys, T-Mobile just got LTE in my area, but I realize that the LTE option went away with the update. Can anyone help me out on how to get it back if it's possible, it will be a huge help. Thanks!

Hi,
have you tried this ROM and settings?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2267890
There's a whole thread dedicated to this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2211618
Bottom line, you need to downgrade your radio. Additionally, it'd work best with a 4.2.1 ROM, but if you want to run a 4.2.2, you'll need to make some edits to the ROM to be fully compatible with an earlier radio. That thread has a flashable zip to edit whatever 4.2.2 ROM you have install, to make it work with the earlier radios.

Try flashing an older radio like .33 or .27 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087227. May cause some issues with 4.2.2 though, backup first and try it.
Thanks for the help guys. Is it possible to downgrade back to 4.2.1 then? Because to save me some time I rather just downgrade and start from there. I saw no difference in the update.

theres no need to downgrade. flash either the .33 or .27 radio, flash this to fix in call audio https://www.box.com/s/h16b3wlrq8op6us7ifsv then change the phone settings to lte/gsm. you can change the phone settings entering *#*#4636#*#* into your dialer or via the 4636v2 app. thats all.

na, ive used every radio on 4.2.2, hspa+ only and LTE. no problems. the only real issue for tmobile users is using a an older radio on 4.2.2 without doing the in-call sound fix. thats the flashable zip that i linked you(or you can do the edit manually).
Yeah I've never had any problems with the older radios, except the no call audio issue, but that's easily fixed. There's even a script you can use so LTE settings stick on reboot.

I'm reasonably sure there isn't. Try going through the settings (in particular developer options) and seeing whether there's an option like that.

Could anybody do this? I've tried following tutorials using both Ubuntu and windows and I can never get the system ui to compile again. I am willing to pay for it. Device I'm using is D800. Though I don't think it matters since its just a systemui edit

Yeah - editing apks without decompiling generally doesn't work. I finally got it to recompile after I changed the status bar xml stuff, however, I was greeted by force closes galore.
