You can look for some battery efficient kernels* like hells fusion, percy and kuro.
Also, hyperion is a banned rom as of now, so we shouldn't talk about it. Read the rules. See my signature for link.

You can use any rom with good scripts like undervolting etc and good I/o schedulars with kernel. Battery doesn't actually depend on rom, it depends on the processes running in background. Also use the button if you want to say thanks, don't waste your posts for it.

Roms, I can't. I myself use deodexed ddlk2 stock. It depends on you.
Kernel I am on Hells Fusion, with sometimes switching back to stock for testing up CM7 build. HF is good (not the best, because if I say its best, someone will oppose me, and will make conflict here), so you can use HF.

On ur current rom..
I have tested all kernels and for some reason hells fusion is not the best choice as far as ur rom is concerned ... the Dev of the rom has put in the best combo possible for it.... well there r other choice but I really don't want to suggest ... pleez read about the kernel and yesterday them yourself (all devs work hard on them)
If u really want to save some battery ...
I had a guide on it .... just scroll through my threads u will find it (I have also mentioned about the right io/governers for everything)

Help Kuro Kernel

Hi to all, i need a little help with the installation of this kernel. I'm trying to install it in ussr v3 and v4 and always get bootloop. I read that is necessary to uninstall a2sd but i don't know if those ROMs have it (both have Repencis kernel) and i don't know how to uninstall it. I checked init.d folder and i dont see any files with "a2sd" and i dont have my sd-card partitioned or anythig so i dont know what to do, please help. Thanks in advance guys.
pd: Sorry for bad english.
I to had the same problem but i was able to install the kuro kernel but i was using ICS fusion v2.0 rom
unroot ur phone
do a data wipe/cache
before installing kuro kernell
After installing Kuro kernel u may root ur phone again.
And remember always to flash it via CWM & not the stock recovery
u can use the faqbly method to flash the kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552889
what? unroot? I don't know why did my kernel got a problem with root stuff. try this one. usr have bacem tweak inside it, you'd better remove it or change the value to -20mV before you install my kernel.
i install this kernel with Repencis v3.5 and i didnt get bootloop maybe the a2sd thing is the one thats get you a bootloop cause i use link2sd..because of that i didnt got any problem
btw this kernel is COOL really fast and battery saver
Hi noob question here
I flashed kuro kernel(love this kernel BTW)on samsumsung kies updated stockrom but IMEI number disappeared (IMEI blank)gone from phone has anyone else had this happen. Is there a simple fix to this or reason ?, or do I have to stick with xxla2 which is fine but I love the enhancements on the kies updated rom
I have flashed back stock xxla2 and IMEI number has returned so no damage done
I did'nt note down the kies update number my bad.
edit
service version : PDA:LK3 / PHONE:LK3 / CSC:LL1 (XEU)
Thanks

"best" or "better" is personal choice.
Also Savie's kernel is banned.

[Multi Q.] First time flashing...

Hello there.. I'm sorry for opening one more, maybe, the same thread, but I opened it cuz I need to ask many question and I need frequent assistance.
In fact, that what I want to do is to install one of following Custom ROMS: Jelly Bean ROM and Hyperion 7x pre gm , of some ROMS I have seen, this two is best for me by the look.. I dont have experience with this, so this will be my first time to install. If u guys know something bout this two ROMS, is it good to install, is it stable, bugs, and ur experience, or if u know much better, post it there.
-Do I need to flash KERNEL too, or just can flash ROM? (sorry if it's stupid question) ; if I need which is the best?
-I did backup with my current files, first User data, then System data.. (I want to restore my apps with data after installing C.ROM, If it is possible..) ; also, if something goes wrong, should I need to backup somehow whole current stock rom?
That was it for now.. If I remember some more questions, I will post it.
Thank to all who will help.. :highfive:
Try this thread then... atleast next time don't create threads similar..

Ok.. Thanks.. What is a difference with custom kernel and stock?
JELLY BEAN AND HYPERION ARE THE TOP and THE HOTTEST ROMS AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW..........im not much a fan of jb,but i hv to say it got damn looks...the ui has been osumly customised.......performance wise ter are few issues may b bit slower compared to hyperion..... currently 3 to 4 updates have been out and ol are superhit
now going to hyperion pre gm ........its not complete in away..it was released to get more review and functionality check....but NOTE tis its highly performance themed...as it says it is the fastest and smoothest rom out now(except fr booting time)...look wise not so gud .. has osum features related to network...plus wrks grt with white kernel and his new zram update
major part>>>>>>>>>>>>>JB's next update NEMISIS is just around the corner.....
hyperion7x update is almost ready...hyperion 8 is under testing nd will be released by next year...
hope i gv u rough idea...
if u like it do click thnks fr me

diff....custom kernel as the name says are customised fr performance, battery life etc.....it has many features including overclocking of processors to 1.2ghz ...
stock kernel is just fr basic operations it gives the features like standard stuffs.....ter would be hardly ny galaxy y user who would be using stock kernel

Well, you will have more features in custom kernel like firewall support and battery saving possibilities etc.. you need to do some searching and reading to know all about it.. as its too big to put it in one post..

No you don't need to flash a kernel and also if you were planning on flashing 1 you'd have to do it after flashing the rom just to be safe also I think jellyblast flashes a kernel (I might be wrong) in which case don't flash a kernel
To the backup question assuming your using titanium backup u can absolutely restore after flashing a Rom (that's the whole point) just make sure you backup all user apps and all system data
And to your rom backup question no you don't need to do a backup of your Rom assuming you have a pc you can just use Odin (a pc program) to restore stock if something goes wrong but you can do a backup using cwm that's what deadly was referring to when he said nandroid backup I don't do it cuz it's big

1. kernels Are included in roms
no need to flash kernel seperately
2. using cwm backup your stock (current ) rom and restore if anything goes wrong
Yeah, agree with both!
Can u guys suggest me any safe and stable kernel in combination with this two roms? I'm scared to test, couse I need stable phone with good and more improved performances, like speed, size of free internal memory, more options and many more. If this roms are not stable, and have big bugs and if isnt stable, suggest me more and the best for you..

Not all Roms include kernels some just reflash stock i.e creeds also a Rom kernel that u get might not necessarily be what u want like repencis comes with a kernel but if you want to overclock u will need merruks kernel or undervolt will be savies kernel etc

Both of those are stable and again if jellyblast does in fact flash a kernel then don't flash 1 also if u have a pc it is EXTREMEEELY hard to brick your phone into an unrecoverable postion Odin will save u time and time again just read here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800
Also flashing a rom won't increase internal memory of your phone if u want more look into link2sd and partitioning your sd card

for increasing the internel memory ter r a numerous ways say a count of 3-5...but the stable and fastest and most commonly used is LINK2SD
but before u flash a custom rom...study about odin ..HARD BRICK SOFT BRICK AND ol......odin is the process by which u cn revert back ur device to the way it was......l
kinda like hard formatting or installing a new os in pc.......so plz before installing custom rom learn about odin, soft brick, hard brick, cwm, recovery mode, download mode
Ok guys! Thanks to everybody! Now I will backup whole stock rom via CWM.. But I have a problem there.. I can scroll till the last folder that can see.. After a last folder, I cant scroll down more.. IDK why..
At increasnig memory, I mean installed system apps uses less memory, and many may be moved, if I hear good, so you can make much space..
Also, I will ssee again which is best JB or Hyperion and will install it.. I will inform u guys how it goes.. Thanks again!
If you need help with installation.. you can check my guide in my signature.. it has all flashing guides you may need of.. just follow steps carefully..

Well, if you are downloading from development thread. Then just disable the antivirus and finish download.. if you are worried.. then just try other roms..
You can extract zip after download and scan to see which is virus file it says.. so you will get idea and post it here..

There is no way of overclocking without changing kernal. The things like tat u get pn third party websites are fake. Plz do not try them they may harm ur device.
There are two ways to overclock to 1.2ghz.
Firstly merruk's kernal and secondly eve rom.
Merruk kernal has some bugs but eve rom with its own kernal woks flawlessly. I have used it myself without any bugs but warning do not try eve kernal on other roms. Then it will have serious stability issues.

I m always there to help.
