Quick Reply for SMS - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Trying to find an app for quick replying to sms messages. I installed sMs popular from the play store and it works except the messages still show unread. Also the contact pictures don't show up. Anyone know of a better app to use?

sms popup
i really liked the one from cm10 tho

Sliding Messaging is great for anyone coming from AOSP ROMs with the expanding notifications, quick reply/mark read, and breathing status bar notifications.
I had to manually edit the MMS APN settings within the app to get it fully functional, but now I'm able to send/receive MMS + group MMS perfectly.

I use GoSMS Pro, but SMS Popup works great as a standalone app.

Popup SMS definitely has this feature.
chomp sms does all of the above. has great features such as reminder alerts, customize how many times, and how many mins between the reminder alerts. very customizable.

Message notification icon

I see the same generic icon when I get an email or text. I can change the sound I get but is it poosible to change the icon to be different for email than texts? I had this on my old droid charge but cant seem to find where to change it on this phone.
I swicthed to Nova launcher but I am not rooted or anything.
Thanks!
You could use an alternate mail app, or use an app which'll notify you of a new SMS and turn off the stock SMS notifications. Take a look at "SMS popup", you can use it for SMS notification without using the popup thing.

[Q] Force MMS - Stock App

I have a quick question. Is there a way to force a "text" message to be sent as MMS instead of SMS using the stock messaging app? It looks like right now, if the message is all text, then only after the 6th 140 character message will it convert to MMS, otherwise it stays on SMS and splits it into 6 SMS messages. I want to choose to convert it sooner if I want. Is that possible? I know that if I insert a picture then it will convert to MMS immediately, but I want text ONLY MMS. Thanks!

So I take it this is not possible?

Don't know why you want to force txt mssg to be sent as MMS but there is a setting in stock messaging app that combines all the split mssgs to be send as one whole mssg. Don't know if this what you want tho.

Create a google voice number. Then use that number with whoever you want to text as a group text. It'll become MMS instead of SMS for group texting.

[Q] Hangouts and stock sms app problem

I'm using Google Hangouts to receive my sms and mms texts. However, I'm still receiving double message and notofocations as my stock sms app is also receiving the sms. How do I disable this so I only receive this through Google Hangouts?

Thanks for the Info, but I have read in other Forum that the users have problem with this solution, for Example the user can not send an mms. If I disable under the settings the stock sms app, then can I send sms and mms too?
The message will still show up in message app. Go to application manager find stock messaging and disable the notifications for it. And you're sorted

Thanks for the Info, If I understand you correctly, I should turn off only the notification (and not disable the stock sms app) in the stock sms app.
If I delete one of the message in the stock message app, than it will be deleted too in Hangouts?
Yes and yes

[Q] Application for accessing old messages?

I miss access to already readed messages, like older SMS, e-mails, Facebook messages etc. Is any application which can do it? Not only display notification but display older messages and at the best, enable to respond to them?
Thanks
l am really interested. Any ideas?
If you aren't experienced developer, I'm affraid that interresting is not enough.
My idea is connecting to Gmail or Facebook or SMS application and read old messages and display then on the watch.
