GPS satellite detection

Hi, I've got TomTom Navigator 6 installed on my Trinity and it all works fine, except it takes about 5 minutes before it picks up any satellites when I run it - does anybody know if there's a fix to enable to gps chip to pick up satellites a bit quicker than this? Even when I'm outside and away from tall buildings it's the same. Any help or suggestions would be great.
Thanks
Seagee
Did u try that software?

it will save a couple of minutes
aquiring a satellite regardless of whether you're using an internal gps antenna or an external bluetooth antenna usually takes a few minutes when you are booting it cold (ie.. turning it on initally) There really isnt any way around this that I know

Try your GPS antenna with an other software or with a GPS diagnostic.
I am 99% sure your GPS antenna does not work properly or at least try your tom tom with an other antenna.
Info : GPS antenna have to connect with 3 or more satellite to determine the position.

[Q] GPS on HyperDroidGBX-v12

Hello everybody,
I have HyperDroidGBX-v12 in my HD2. To improve the GPS performance I installed GPS Libraries v2.0 with AGPS support for HD2 Gingerbread from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1100114&highlight=gps&page=3 .
Now, the GPS works very well and quickly but if I disable the GPS and then try to enable it again, GPS doesn't work and I have to reboot my HD2 to GPS starts to work again.
Furthermore, I've detected that with the new GPS fix the battery life is lower than before, even if the GPS is disabled.
What's the problem?
Thanks.

[Q] No GPS on LG L 5 II (E460)

my lg l5 II (E460) the GPS does not work
who has an idea to solve this
Hi mate! OK here's the deal:
I have the same phone. Used to have Samsung i5700 before it. The Samsung's GPS was stronger, faster and more sustainable (durable), I mean it didn't lost the signal too often.
The case with LG L5 II is rather different. I haven't tested it on the road yet (I don't own a car stand for this phone, YET - need to concentrate on the road), but there are problems with it.
In a clear sky it takes somewhere between 20 - 250 seconds to fix me. My old phone (android 2.2) needed somewhere about 15-60 seconds for the same task. Ridiculous.
So here are my top tips if you want your GPS to work - it would not be faster, but it would work. Sorry, but I dunno how to make it as fast as my SAMSUNG was:
1. Install GPS Status and Toolbox: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=gps+status+and+toolbox&c=apps
It is the best application for testing the speed of your GPS. Use it under clear sky (no clouds, mists or whatsoever)
2. Install GPS status - test and fix from this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5jb2NoaWJvLmdwc3N0YXR1cyJd
and read this XDA topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197842
Follow the steps there. It would make your GPS work
3. Install one of those navigation apps:
iGO Primo (paid)
OruxMaps (free)
Osmand maps (free)
I don't like the new versions of Sygic (paid), but you can give it a go too.
With a combination of these apps my GPS locates me - slowly and sometimes looses signal, but it fixes me nevertheless.
I hope someone gives us a solution about this problem AND root for our new LG L5 II - awesome phone, with some problems regarding camera and GPS (maybe because it is cheaper than it's competitors)
Cheers!

Unsure if you are still having problems however I found that for some reason Sygic was killing my GPS and had to factory reset, TomTom seems towork fine. Also see this link as itmay help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197842
