Has anyone figured out how to change the device icon for the S4 in windows 7?
Looks silly having such an awesome phone detected as a music player...

Help Music Player Problem (Music Skips)

when listening to my music im sure we all lock the screen so we dont change songs accidentally, but when mine is locked the music has short pauses about every 5-7 seconds like its a cd player skipping. but when i unlock the screen it the whole song plays fine. this happens with the music player and WMP. anybody else have this problem? any advice would be appreciated. thanks
this happens when you have a lockscreen that has the animated arrows enabled. been playing with the lockscreen?
yes i have a different slider, because i wanted the slider at the bottom of the screen. is there other sliders i can try that puts the slider at the bottom of the screen without animated arrows?
the slider itself shouldn't be a problem, its those little arrows either side of it, and yes you should be able to find another one, its a really simple edit to move the slider. there's a lockscreen editing tutorial in my sig, if you fancy an hour or two tinkering with it yourself.
i dont dare to tinker with it myself im clueless when it comes to this stuff, but i decided to try the lockscreen ccb here. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=639163)
now the music stops completely on the locksccreen, did i F something up?
nevermind it fixed itself
hehe things generally do.

[Q] Nexus S Lock Animations/Quantum Music?

I just installed the Quantum 2.1 ROM on my Epic 4G, and the ringtones are very selective in which I can use as ringtones/notifications, as well as music. Most of the time, it just lags and crashes. And then the "Sounds & Display" menu in the settings crashes too. Am I missing something here? Did I do something wrong?
I have the Nexus S boot logo on my phone, and was curious if there's a way to get that slick lock animation like on the phone. You know, that white line thing?
Thanks everyone who would help.

[Q] Another Nexus newbie with some questions!

Hi everyone, just had a Google nexus 10 for a couple of days now....first ever tablet PC / Android OS device - pretty experienced with PCs and Window but this is very different!
Getting on fine customising the setup and installing Apps etc, finding the solution most the time I get stuck here or elsewhere on the Interweb but there's a few minor things I just can't sort out.
I'll start with just a couple of questions and keep working on the other 'issues' myself for a while....
1) Music Player
I've added a bunch of MP3 albums to the GN10 - originally the album artwork appeared in screen you could scroll through but in finding my way around the App changed the view to a static tiled view of the album covers - no way can I switch back or between any view options now!
By the way.....stick with the standard music player or other Apps recommended? (would be nice to have a graphic equaliser.......I've set up a nice set of external speakers with Logitech Bluetooth audio adapter)
2) My Library...
My Music.......the icons on the 'Desktop' are just grey squares with the album title etc......surely the album covers/artwork should show?
........that's it for now
Thanks
Andy
Your are talking about the play music app, yes? If so the view you were talking about where you could scroll through is the "recent music" view. The static tiles is the "album" view. The view can be changed in the upper left side of the app next to the app icon. The app does have a built in graphic equalizer which is accessed by touch the menu button (3 dots) in the upper right.
As far as the widget, you may want to try removing the widget and then putting it back. A reboot may help afterwards as well. Hope this answers your questions.
Spot on re the 'recent music' view....thanks - strange that that view is not available for the full music selection
Removed and added the Library widget again but no change.........not fussed though as removed again as on second thoughts can't see the need anyway, how often would one of the few albums shown be what you wanted to listen too anyway?.......just hit the Media Player icon...
Something else strange (to me anyway lol).....
The photo gallery has imported all the artwork/album covers from the Music folder ......can't see a setting to change this?
That is strange indeed. Is the music mp3's that are physically stored on the tablet memory?
Yes all on the tablet, fully tagged etc via dBpoweramp

Click to collapse
...anyone any ideas?
very nice,its worked fully!
Unfortunately I don't believe there is a way to remove them from the gallery. It is a quirk of android. You will notice that some apps will even create folders in the gallery to store cached images.

GT-I9505 on 4.4.2 KitKat: how to get back the music widget on the lockscreen?

Hi folks! I have upgraded my S4 to 4.4.2 KitKat, but when I lock my phone it has the new music controls on lockscreen with the terrible album cover full screen... is there any way to get back the samsung music widget with the fabulous list where you can quickly change track?

I say its "not possible". Unless someone ported from 4.3 and create an apk, or embedded on a ROM
Another vote for this. Not only picking track from the list but also enable/disable shuffle / repeat on lock screen. Hope someone will come up with a port soon!
I've been searching high and low for this, would love to have the exact music controls we had prior to the 4.4.2 update. I have found an alternative, but it involves using the Samsung Music Player (NOT the stock player we are used to). This music player can be accessed through the Samsung Hub, and you can add a specific shortcut to the music player on your home screen by pressing menu in the Samsung Hub app, and selecting shortcuts. I've tried it, but I don't like it - maybe because it doesn't work as fluid/well? It's worth a try, but I've resorted back to the stock music player.

Old style music player on lockscreen

Hey, hope someone can help me..
I updated to kitkat today, and there's one thing bothering me.
On the lockscreen, there's a new music player style, with full screen album art...
Is there a way to get the old style back, where you couls pull down a list of the songs you have, etc..?
I have this problem too..
After my friend deleted the music lockscreen widget I cant add it back because it disappeared.
Can someone help us please?
