Could anyone please tell me why, after successfully installing Flash I am not able to zoom the video screen? And on some other sites I see the video screen and it will zoom in but will not respond and play.
Another note... The S4 has a very intuitive interface but the display for me is is nowhere as crisp, clear and easy on the eyes as my old Infuse. The colors seemed washed out and it seems blurry, as I look at the S4 next to my infuse. It's definitely harder on my eyes. I have turned off all but the basics important to me so it is running well. i have even been able to use my old friends Zeam launcher and Miren browser (for simple browsing, Dolphin for Flash).

the graphics looks scaled up from wqvga 400x240. why? maybe to save bandwidth?
i don't think you're allowed to post that, from what I understand skyfire have been complaining about copyright infringement.
Unless of course they've released it already that is..
i removed it i dont want to get into truble.
get it from here .9.0.9151

scrolling not as smooth as in opera. youtube video playback is a little laggy.
I really liked it. Much faster than Opera for me and the flash support is pretty good. Im looking forward to the next release for sure.
I gave it a try on my xperia TouchIT 3.5 RC1, i didn't find it good: no easy zoom, laggy youtube, and blurred text.
for now i'll stick with Oper...
I prefer Opera as well. There was much talk about this and was expecting way more. Unless you zoom in, everything is blurry (so how am i suppose to know whether I want to zoom in or not), it's laggy and just like opera it does not work with certificates. So I am sticking with opera for everyday browsing and internet explorer for certificate use.
Hmm, it really seems to be 400x240... I can't get it started, it says acquiring data connection and check flight mode, or do I only have to wait some time?
Got it, with WLAN it works, maybe I haven't waited long enough... seems to be not very fast...
got the same problem. but since its scaled anyway, i dont care much cause i dont think im going to use this.
text could be better. i have to refresh every now and then to get the text to clear up. playing the web video is good but could be smoother. its a beta and hopefully it gets better.
i found it to be a bit slow but i may attribute that to my wi-fi connection as to i am always past 30ft from my wireless connection and that i have it installed on my storage card.
for now its another web tool to keep in case i want to view a page with video content.
Youtube works, not perfect, but it works, that's nice, a fullscreen mode for the videos would be nice... the resolution is not nice, I think in full WVGA it would look much better...
full resolution will probably make go even slower. i think its geting pages as pictures as i see it supporting text languages that i know are not suppoted by my phone
they should dither the picture to make look less pixely
To me, the older Skyfire version 0.9.0.8294 seems to be better. It still looks blurry when zoomed out, but when you zoom in completely, it renders the page clearly. The .9151 version still looks blurry even if you zoom in completely.
are they caching the sites and we are getting the sites off their server??
this is a big security risk!
I noticed that because our proxy server is being bypassed
mystkai they aren't caching site, they are loading them for you on their fast servers and then sending an image down to your phone. Which is one of the reasons like Opera Mini why I tend not to use them.
I think it's the best flash included browser yet. My only problem with it so far is that it really does work best in wifi. The videos are at times choppy, but better than nothing at all.
is there a way to make it play the video in full screen or close to full screen. the zoom in function cannot be fine tuned
I personally like it alot. Yeah is blurry and laggy but is still a Beta remember. Once they fix those things it will be the best i think.
I think Skyfire has a great potential, and if it works without laggs and in full wvga it will be a great browser, I hope the next beta will work better, than I can watch youtube
Now available on the market for free.... its pretty decent, worth having imo....
If this has already been posted I apologize and mods please delete...
i just saw that on cnet. i was wondering if anyone has used it yet, and what the verdict was, in comparison to dolphin

Very, very, very fast server side processing browser... not as rich of an experience as the stock or dolphin, but much faster and does a pretty darn good job. Lots of extra stuff, like good bookmarks and cached browsing.
Great option.
FAST browsing. Great homepage/bookmarks , great tabs.
I always like having a secondary browser. Opera IMO is the best secondary browser and if you can deal with jpg compression and alot of "mobile" looking pages its a fanstastic primary browser.
I just wouldnt use it to show off the beauty of the phone.
Its about the same as the windows version and yes Hella fast... and has the option to upload pics or files unlike the stock or dolphin, and download files that are not supported on the device....
Is there a way to zoom in/out in sites? (maybe it's just too late and I can't figure it out).
Anyway, the hebrew is all messed up unlike the stock / Dolphin / HTC Desire browsers - so I'll have to skip that one.
It is a very nice browser i must admit. For the next few days I will be using it to replace Dolphin. Just as a test drive.
I don't like it.
Reasons:
A) When you scroll down a page (that's already "fully" loaded), the pictures show really nasty puke-colored placeholder boxes.
B) The full-screen mode still shows the notification bar. It's not really "full screen" then is it?... (That is by far my favorite feature about the Desire Rom.)
C) There's no way to fine-grained zoom in to how you want. Double tap is either zoomed FAR out, or zoomed to 1 specific point. Why can't I choose my own zoom level?
Very fast browser & lite on memory. Will be playing more with it next few days...
Not bad for a first release.. I'm impressed.
Looking forward to future updates.. multi touch etc.
Pretty good, especially when you are getting weak signal.
I was viewing some virtual tours on my PC, example here:
http://vtour.realtour.biz/102GoldenBear/Austin/TX
This will not play on my N7 on Chrome. It also will not play on Xscope (with flash enabled). I tried various settings. Then I tried Boat Browser and thought it wouldn't play until I set UI to "iphone"... then it plays. A little slow/choppy, but at least it plays. What's with "iphone"?
Anyone other browser work (smoothly?). I use to have Firefox on my phone, I'm guessing it will work on it, but it was so much slower at loading pages than Xscope. I'm playing with Boat, they have improved page display, going to try some speed tests to see if I want to keep it.
edit: Boat and Xscope seem to load pages almost the same (fast). I decided Xscope does a little better job displaying pages properly. I visit FB quit a lot and Boat just doesn't display FB home properly. I see why I switched from Boat to FF then to Xscope.
Give Naked Browser a try. Both Boat and Naked play Flash content on my N7.
Just tried it, doesn't work with Naked. I use Xscope as my main browser and does flash well (on everything except the type of link I mentioned). Boat/iphone setting is the only one I found that works.
Xscope seems just as fast as naked. I don't like how the top bar covers up the top of a page, Xscope seems to auto-hide the bar much better. Also has a few more text size options.
Not a big deal, I prefer a PC for most things like that.
I'm looking to get rid of my s4, which I hate, and am looking to get the g2 or Sony z ultra.
My main use is watching movies, Web browsing and reading magazines on zinio, which is why the big screen of the Sony appealed. I am worried about the battery life and handling issues of the ultra though so am thinking of the g2 despite the smaller screen, especially as the battery life seems to be so good.
Anyway wanted to ask if anyone knew if the g2 worked in usb host mode and so was able to read off external Flash drives? 32gb onboard is not enough for me as I regularly take long flights and like to take lots of large movie files with me but being able to use an external usb drive would get round this.
Lastly I'm not sure I like the onscreen buttons taking up screen real estate in apps where you want to use the whole screen. Can someone confirm if there is an option to have the menu and back buttons etc disappear during web browsing and video watching in 3rd party video apps like mx player? Also can the buttons be hidden in gaming as the videos I see all seem to have them there during games. Same question re zinio - can you get a true full screen reading experience or are the home buttons always present? And the photo viewer?
Thanks!!

Look up Auto Hide Soft Keys (for root users only) in Google Play. It hides the stock nav bar, and auto hides when not in use, making ALL OF THE THINGS full screen. I'm thoroughly enjoying full screen everything.
Reminder though, it is only if you root (and there is a pretty easy root method now).
Hello,
I have seen this issue pop up on a few phones and different ROMs, but recently I installed this new ROM on my Samsung J730f, and for once a custom ROM for that phone was actually stable and fully functioning ( [10]RadicalQuack ).
However, the only issue I came across is something I never had on any other ROM, is that some 3rd party apps (WhatsApp, Snapchat) use the camera in 4:3 and stretch it to full screen which looks absolutely horrible. If i take a photo, the preview looks 4:3 stretched but the actual picture looks normal, but when I film a video it just looks the same as the preview. Some apps like instagram function properly, the cam is in 9:16, and ofc the normal Samsung camera app functions as intended as well.
I tried describing the issue as best as I could in hope someone has an idea on how I can fix this.
Thanks for reading.
