Currently I have a 16 gb class 4 SD card in my nexus one.when using d2w roms apps load very slow and my phone sometimes gets so slow almost unusable. I think that a higher speed SD card might help.
What u suggest me?

Check the packaging or run a speed test. Class refers to write speed - a speed of 2MB/s qualifies as class 2. 4MB/s is class 4, etc.

It should be written on the Mirco SDHC card itself. a small number inside a circle. If it is not written, it is probably not Micro SDHC its just Micro SD, which is typically 2GB or lower, and class 1.
By the way, Class 6 should work. I used class 4 and class 10 and they both worked.
Ok so I turned on my p hone the other day and it says "SD Card damaged, please reformat". I ejected it and put it back in, and now the phone acts like there isnt an SD in the slot. Wtf. Anyone know why Samsung phones destroy SD Cards? And could anyone recommend a card it wont destroy? Ive heard good things about the 64 gig Samsung card but idk..

Can you read it on your computer/laptop?
I would try reformatting on the phone after dumping any data to your pc.

agreed
Did you get this card on eBay? Or from a reputable store? As others said - make sure you try the SD card in a computer or elsewhere.
I believe this is just a fluke issue. I had the same problem. I shut phone completely off for 5 minutes turned it back on and everything was fine with me. So before you go panicking try shutting phone off then back on.

I also have had this happen with two separate cards. The last time it happened the data was a complete loss. Unreliable if you ask me.

16gig any brand should not be having issues at all, format fat32, and it will work, now 64 on the other hand, s4 and 64g have serious issues playing together.
I have an 8 gig and 16 gig card that I have used for YEARS and my S4 runs them just fine. I don't really think it's the phone.
I've had this issue a few times on my SanDisk 64GB. I panic at first, then just reboot and wait and it comes back fine... No data loss (yet) but I have everything backed up anyway..
only one thing to do, kill the S4...

I have never ever had any issues with the micro sd card on any of the Galaxy's phone. It might be a bad card. It's not your phone that killed the Kingston micro sd card. If your phone was a killer, it would have killed internal sd first before even killing this innocent 16 GB Kingston micro sd card.

OP I TOTALLY feel your pain! I've killed 2 64GB SD cards with my S4 since it was new. They were both sandisk ultra class 10 cards. I finally got a Samsung brand, and haven't had one single issue! It even runs faster than the sandisk ones.
Kingston SD cards .... the *** NEW Kingston SD *** cards are now working with Samsung devices.
My first Kingston 64 GB SD card stopped working months ago and asked Kingston for a RMA and they sent my new card. Now this new card has stopped working as well ... i asked Kingston what the problem was and they mentioned the the last batches of 64 GB SD cards were not compatible with Samsung Phones. I have two (2) Kingston 64 GB SD cards. Check the numbers on your Kingston SD cards NOW...
the two cards i have now are being returned via RMA and the numbers i have are

mine has nothing on it ,longs as you can put thing on it and it works wouldn't worry
That's time 0. Its when computers start counting the milliseconds that have passed to the present time. It happened because a lazy programmer needed to provide the current time and just put 0 because he didn't feel like getting it. Enjoy ur free software
Hi!
I am afraid of buying a Class 10 card for my brand new S4 as I saw lot of bad reports on the only brands we have here in Lebanon (Sandisk and Kingston).
So I am wondering if a Class 4 of these brands are more reliable on the S4.
Are you using a Class 4 card?
If yes what is the brand?
Did you have a problem with it?
Will it slow down the S4 when taking photos or opening the gallery??
I don't mind waiting a minute or 2 when sending a big file from PC to SD if it will keep my data safe VS speed and unreliability of class 10
i use a sd card 16bg class4 brand trascend, in my gt-i9505and telephone is ok, very fast for all
I have SanDisk 16gb class 4, had it go corrupt (raw file system) 4 times using fat32. After I re did it as exfat I haven't had any issues after 2 weeks, *touch wood!

Is it fast enough for camera and gallery?
I've been using a Sandisk Class 10 for half a year now with my GS4 and never had any issues.
I don't recommend Kingston but Sandisk Issue as far as I know was sorted long time ago and why limit yourself to a slower Class 4.
Yes it seams to be ok but in comparison to what? I don't have any other sdcard to compare with, so mine could be really slow...
If I copy a 200Mb mp4 from internal storage to sd card speed fluctuates around 10MB(yte)/s

Tried the Transcend 16gb class4 from my Cowon on the S4, the test results given by the app ''SD tools'' gave 4.5mb/s write speed which pretty low no?
I wonder if Sandisk class 4 are faster in writing
I'm using a 32GB Class 10 Transcend microSD. Works like a charm. Better than SanDisk any day.
| Mobile Message
Used a Sandisk class 10 32gb microSD card for a couple of months, it gave me a lot of issues like random unmounting and photos getting corrupted. Got it replaced but the issues still persisted. Using a Samsung 16gb Class 6 now and i'm super happy with it. My mom is using a Sandisk Class 4 16gb microSD and doesn't seem to have any problems with it!
I just copied the 200MB mp4 to internal storage the speed was 17MB(yte)/s.
So the read write would be
10MB/s write and 17MB/s read I guess.
