Hello,
Can we install that Droid 2 Multi-Touch Keyboard to our HD2 Android ?
I didn't use Android before, I don't know what is he talking about in installation guide.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
----
Solution:
Unzip the file and get "d2keyboard-signed-ampfix3.apk" and "libjni_latinime.so" files.
Copy the "libjni_latinime.so" file to "../system/lib".
Install "d2keyboard-signed-ampfix3.apk" file.
I used AndroZip to do all those things. (Download it from Market)
If your keyboard doesn't appear, reboot the system then try reinstalling the apk file.
----
Problems:
Looks like multi-touch on HD2 Android doesn't work properly.
It may type wrong letters !
It seems that it is possible as shubcraft tried it on his phone and said it worked well. I'm trying to figure out how to set it up.
Yeah, unzip the file and get "d2keyboard-signed-ampfix3.apk" and "libjni_latinime.so"
I used AndroZip to install the .apk file, and then copied the .so file to /system/lib
I'm using mattc with overclock kernel.

thanks for a guide, working good
FYI, i use ES File Explorer to install and copy file <---u can download it off on Market.
Well it has ****ed up.
Keyboard doesn't appear.
I used AndroZip and installed "d2keyboard-signed-ampfix3.apk"
And then copied "libjni_latinime.so" file to "../sdcard/Android/root/system/lib"
Keyboard has gone. I can't open the screen keyboard.
Any ideas ?
---
Rebooted the system and it returned back to default Android keyboard.
---
Edit: Ok. I tried to install it again and it worked.
This keyboard is pretty incredible and the responsive touch input is something worth tipping our hats towards Motorola.
I really like the multi-touch aspect as well. Red accents don't hurt either...

i had the same problem as u. cept i had a backup keyboard with SWYPE. the multitouch keyboard didnt work tho. nothing came out.
Been playing around alittle and both the original and the Droid 2 keyboard works the same for me. I can have one finger pressed on the keyboard while typing with the other, no matter if i use the original in FroyoStone (HTC i guess?) or the Droid 2 keyboard.
when i try to move libjni_latinime.so to system/lib it won't move due to file restrictions. The apk installs but the keyboard never shows. What am I doing wrong?

Have you activated it in settings -> Language & Keyboard? Then you need to longpress on a textbox and choose it.
I done everything in the instructions and as soon I select the multi keyboard then I keep getting force quit errors

Ok. I tried to install it again and it worked.
But there is another big problem there!
Multi-touch doesn't really work properly on HD2 Android !!!
I'm holding A button and tapping the O button, but it types L instead of O.

i did exactly that. no keyboard came out.

2.unzipped files to desktop
3.moved folder 'droid2keyboard-signed-flash-ampfix3' to sd via usb
4.copied libjni_latinime.so into library folder
5.used androzip to install apk file
6.went to settings and into keyboard input
7.long press text feild and switched to multitouch and nothing happens.

Ah nevermind then. Don't install it. It's just useless.
Multi-touch doesn't work properly.
So I'm rooted with the De La Vega method and it works great. As we all know, the new google maps v7 will not allow you to do a lot of things that the old versions would allow. I've found some older APKs from v6 and previous, but when I go to install, it will not allow it. Any ideas why, or how to get around it?
I'm interested in this as well. Plus the navigation voice is so robot like and it can hardly pronounce street names properly.

Sorry I'm not familiar with es file explorer. I use root explorer and just long press the file and select change permissions. Maybe try changing the extension of the original apk to something like .bak before you copy the new apk then you could always go back if you wanted the newest version again.

Once I downloaded the correct app to allow permission changes, I was able to rename the v7 file, copy over the v6 file and rebooted with no problems. However, the application didn't show up in the app list. So, I had to then install that same APK and everything works great. I now have all of my stored maps back!
What can't u do on v7?

There are several places online that have archives. I also had my APKs all backed up in such an event.
If you get blackout updater (Google play) or in Android themes. The blacked out version of Google maps is the last V6 version. I was glad to have the map view back.

As all of us vzw g2 owners know, verizon left out the browser app in favor of chrome. But they didnt enable qslide with chrome. We do have the stock browser in a flashable zip but it doesn't show up in qslide. Untill now lol. I take no credit for this i just figured it out through trial and error. Ok first flash the stock browser zip from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2452399 then copy this browser apk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0lbyXDReetfdmg2Zm8tU0dRd1k/edit?usp=sharing to system and reboot, bingo stock lg browser in qslide. Great! Although the icon works fine for me. What I'd like to see is Mobile hotspot in quick settings...

Put the apk in system/app. I renamed it to browser.apk just for my own convenience. You don't have to though.

Honestly I am pretty sure you don't have to flash the browser zip before putting the apk in the system/app folder. Just rename the apk you provided to LGBrowser.apk and put it in system/app, also changing the permissions to match the other system apps. The zip is simply flashing the same file without the qslide properties that are built into the apk you have linked to. For some reason those properties were not included in the zip scott posted for the LG browser. Great find overall! Just wanted to clarify that people dont need to flash the zip... just use the apk you provided named correctly with the correct permissions in the system/app folder and reboot. Sweetness!!!

Not my experience. I tried pushing & renaming just the apk when Scott first posted it. Fixed permissions, reboot & the icon didn't even show up. Booted back into twrp to wipe cache/dalvik & fix permissions from there & when I rebooted the icon was present but gave an immediate FC when selected. I gave up on it & grabbed the aosp browser from the play store.
This has been the only way I could get the stock lg browser to work at all. Having it in qslide is just icing on the cake.

The key to your statements is you were using Scott's apk which is not this apk posted. Compare the apk in Scott's zip to this one. I am talking about pushing this apk into the system without flashing Scott's zip. But if you needed Scott's zip flashed first and then pushing this apk I suppose there must be something going on in the background I'm not aware of. In my experience they are different apks. Scott's zip flashes the first browser version into system/app folder and then all we are doing is then pushing this second version apk and overwriting it. So basically the first step is unnecessary imho. But whatever works thanks to the op for this other apk.

Okay figured it out. I am running clean rom and idk if the scotts rom one works with this one or not. SO...I just took the LGBrowser apk from the op and dropped it in the system/app folder. That worked like a charm...and Now all browsers working and qslide etc. I would suggest a nandroid which is why I fixed mine also rename the LGBrowser.apk in the system/app folder to LGBroswer.bak or something before replacing it with the one in the op so if it gets jacked you can back it up. Anyways good luck to you all and thanks op.

Ok so i did alittle googling and as far as i can tell i could be a problem with the site or your network especially if its a guest network. But one of the fizes seems to be clearing browser cache, cookies and history (id clear data in the app manager too for good measure) if that doesn't work google the first few words of the error cuz there were a ton of entries and one should have a fix that works for u. Either way i really dont see why just installin an apk would cause that so you may have some deeper issues with the network where your at?

The att version doesnt have the stock browser either? I assumed it did. But yea It should, there is nothing device specific in the apk but i didnt put the zip together so the updater script might have a version check, but try it n let me no. The absolute worst case scenario is forced closes
Awesome dude. Confirmed it worked!
Manually copy apk over and change permissions to match other files, then flash the LGBrowser.zip. Then it shows up in QSlide apps and floats. So nice.
I've been missing this since I got my G2. I watched a video and seen the floating browser and QuickNotes. Ran and picked up my Verizon phone and found they removed the browser.

After removing some bloatwares in 4.4.2,some users face auto rotation problem. It is because you remove Samsung Hub. Titanium backup removes lib files for unintalling apk.
Solution :
1. extract libgnustl_shared.so from the attachment zip.
2. Copy and paste to System>>lib and change permission to rw-r--r--
3. Reboot and enjoy!
Sorry for bad english.
Strange because I had the issue since moving to official Kitkat. After some research, I found and did what that post says :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50099965&postcount=9
It fixed the issue, but every few days, screen rotation is not functionning. A simple reboot seem to do the trick, but I don't feel like it's normal.
Any further idea ?
Thanks for the information, my rotation is working again. It happened after I removed some system apps, but all is well after restoring the library file.
Can someone please upload the file to this thread please and tell me where I can find the system file?
Removed Samsung hub via Titanium backup and now my Auto Rotate doesn't work.

Download the ScreenRotation.zip from the link in the 2nd comment, extract the library file and copy it to /system/lib with permission 644 (EDIT: rw-r--r--).

I would think it should be fine to remove the app using something like Root Explorer.
Worked
Worked fine on S4 I9505 4.2.2.
this never happened on 4.3 neither 4.2
this seems to be some update in Hubs then i assume
But it fixed the issue.
The flashable zip didn't work.
So I put it there manually.
Strange though because I've always deleted samsung hub and auto rotation has been working.

Hello all,
My device is an ls980 running rooted, stock kitkat. About a week after the ZVC update (kitkat), my Lg Gallery application stopped working. It would not open, giving me an error message saying that "gallery has stopped." So I tried an "uninstall" application from the market to uninstall the stock app, and then I attempted to restore/reinstall it again. Every attempt I have made has been unsuccessful and the app cannot be installed.
So my question is: how can I get the Lg Gallery application reinstalled and working properly?
Thank you, I appreciate anyone's help greatly.
How did you uninstall the stock gallery from the play store when it's not available on the play store and I'm sure the reason it's not installing is because the app needs to be placed in the system/priv-app folder and needs to be given the correct permissions
Sent from my LG-D800 running stock kk, rooted with philz using XDA app
I uninstalled the app using a "system app uninstaller" application. The APK file is still located in my system/priv-app folder, and I have even tried installing it from there using root explorer. What permissions need to be applied?
