If anyone else is annoyed by the constant notification, long press it and go to app info, then force close the "power" app. The notification will be gone until you trigger power saver mode.
I guess a more elegant solution would be to decompile the responsible apk and enable the "show notification toggle".

If you're rooted, then this app will disable the notifications:

Ha! Thanks!! I was thinking about rooting to get of that notification, until this.
Also, if you have Titanium Backup you can "freeze" the battery app which will get rid of the notification. Only downside is that the battery section in the options menu will also go away. I just used Battery Widget Reborn to replace it anyways. It is alloying that that notification can not be removed by default.
There's an actual app which addresses this if rooted. Jmz power disabler in Play.

Can auto screen lock be disabled?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I use a (paid) app called Battery Indicator Pro which has the ability to disable your lock screen. Works quite well. It doesn't permanently disable it as if you restart your phone the lock screen will show.
The main function of the app puts your battery status in the notifications window and allows you to view what has been eating away at your battery.
I hope that's what you meant by "auto screen lock"
Yeah, sounds right. I find it a pain trying to drive and unlock at the same time, esp if you wanna make a call or skip tracks on music player

Settings>>Applications>>Development>>Stay Awake.
Using the method I mentioned above, just note that the screen will still turn off, but when you hit home or power it will go right back to whatever you were doing.
You can set your screen to never time out in the settings.

Thanks guys, will try it out. Its a pita in the car

try using Extended Controls or SwitchPro widgets to skip ahead some extra steps in making your phone always awake.
Tried the dont turn screen off while charging and it works!

So is there anyone that has developed something that will allow you to get rid of the unlock screen completely? I think it would be nice to just be able to hit the button and not have to slide the screen every time.
i havent used this app so i dont know if it works or not but it does what you want.

I use Battery Indicator Pro. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.darshancomputing.BatteryIndicatorPro
The free version can't disable the lockscreen.
Just search for "disable lockscreen on the market.
Awesome! Thanks you guys!
On CM7 there is a feature for disabling the lockscreen.

Except that it re-enables all the time. (Issue 2121 on the Bug Tracker).
Been waiting a long time for this to be fixed.
I know there is a app that uses your proximity sensor to detect if the phone is in your pocket, and if not it will unlock your phone when you press the power button.
Going trough my app list now.
Edit:
Found it, it's called Intelligent Keylock Unlocker

I found the same, BUT!
Disabling instead from the recently added 'Tablet Tweaks' menu means it stays disabled. No idea what's wrong with the other disable methods, but this one works. Yay!

I love you.
Now i can reconfigure my Power Widget as i don't need that particular toggle switch any more!
Theres an app on the market called no lock. all it does is gets rid of the lock screen. I was using battery indicator pro for it but hated the notification that was always there.

I have notice that this app turns on automatically in the task bar, and I cannot turn it off unless I go to running apps and disable it. Has anyone else had this issue and how can I fix it?

It is not just your phone and it is quite annoying to have to turn it off after every reboot.

This is an issue with the last update. I notified the developer and they Emailed me back telling me they are aware of the issue and will be adding a "fix" in a future update.
If you wipe data on the app then this stops. It has for me at least

If you don't mind, reboot your phone (completely turn off and then back on) and once it is fully rebooted, pull down your notification panel and see if it turns back on again.
If you wipe the data, it clears all the settings... I have the same issue. I want it to only be active when I call for it by clicking the app. Not all the time. I tried greenify and it seemed to work until I opened the app, now it is back to coming back after every reboot.

Hey just signed up with my new email and I am unable to post of the PAC forum yet. so i figured i would get some help here. Anybody have any idea how to disable the back and menu key backlight. I hate the lights coming on even for just a second, its a unnessecary (but small) battery drain, and i really like how flat and black my phone looks and would rather not have those buttons show.
You may disable key light as it. Setting/my device/display /touch key light duration /always off. If I helped. Press the thanks button.

Thank you but i think that is how to disable to lights on the stock rom. I am using the 9/4 nightly of the PAC rom. the setting is not under display and lights.
It used to be under advanced settings. that is no longer an option. any ideas?
Use a different launcher like nova, apex or adw, long press the home screen and add shortcut. Add advanced settings. There ya go

Move settings across to the left so you get the screen with PAC settings scroll to 'buttons' down the bottom and you can turn them off in there

When I press and hold my home button I dont get the background app list anymore.
Now I get the dialog box asking for the default behavior and my only choices are google now and my screen off app.
I tried resetting my defaults in application manager but that didnt do it.
Anyone know how to return this back to the background app list?
