Take your Xperia Play box in your hands and look at the main side (big XPERIA PLAY and two photos of the phone). Look at the second, right photo and look at the place near right trigger. See little engraved Camera-shape?
It means that the right trigger might be planned to be used as shutter button for our Plays but in some reason this idea was withdrawn and original Plays are without this engraved shape. I wonder why
Surprised? I am
Cheers!
You are correct. Nice find.
I am just surprised that this function was not included in the phone. Seems like a basic camera function on a phone like this.
Yeah awesome find dude. I am also surprised this was not included on the actual phone.
My right button trigger takes photos, you guys now theres a mod for it on these forums right?

Yes. That mod bugs out on me though. Ceases to function often so I rather not use it at all. Point is we shouldn't have to mod to get that function. It must have been officially planned at some point.
Yeah, nice find.. the L and R buttons look a little curved too
Whats even more surprising to me is you can pinch the screen and have an overview of the widgets, and you can shake it
Found that by chance when it was in my pocket :S

Yeah, pretty cool function. I've discovered it too, unexpectadely when I was testing multitouch. It causes a little jaw drop and jealousy in my friends' faces and they say the want it too on their phones (SGS 2, Galaxy Tab, Optimus 3D). Mwhahahahahaha >:-D
Also using two fingers is very helpful in scrolling up or down quickly if there's lot of a text or menu buttons (ex. Settings or text communicators, doesn't work in web browsers). You have to place them next to each other but not very close and slide both fingers up or down to scroll very very quickly. The position of displayed text is adequate to the position of the fingers - the end of options/text at the lowest part of the screen and the beginning of options/text at the highest part of the screen. Tried this on SGS and Optimus and these phones doesn't have that function, strange.
Try it if you didn't know about that

Yeah but it records HD in the 3gp container instead of mp4, bit annoying
It shouldn't be so, but pressing x takes photos.
That little camera icon and the Hdmi thing makes you wonder what else they got rid of.

It worked but what does shaking do? What's the point? Not only the shaking, but the pinching/widget overview thing?

Shaking isn't needed for anything but tapping on a widget will bring you to that screen suppose it could save someone about a millisecond rather then switching screens
I just recorded a small video showing the formula introduction and search in the new Snote app in the ICS update.
http://youtu.be/xuNOewO5yNo
Ps: I set the OS language to "catalĂ " in case you are wondering.
Do you have 'MY Story'?
It's supposed to be part of the Premium Suite, but I can't seem to find it
Very nice! Surprised as how good the recognition is!
Is this the German 4.0.3 official release?
Yes, it is the German official release.
I updated downlading the update from sammobile to be able to update through mobile odin and keep root access.
So far, so good.
About "My Story", I cannot find it, I only have "mini Diary", but since I don't have my language set to English and I never used the old application, I have no clue if it is new or old.
My only issue is I keep having both the new S Memo app and the old one.
no my story
and we can't take photos from lockscreen from android4?
I have added a few screenshots of internet benchmarks.
Unfortunately I am unable to make screenshots pressing Home+Power buttons.
I also cannot set the screen brightness sliding my finger through the notifications bar
There is a new option to show the battery in %, sweet!!

I would like to see screenshots too.
Here you are somo crappy ones,it is not what we are used to see,but still haven't figured out how to do it from the tab, and I can't root it yet and do it with a different app.
Better than nothing.
One thing that I have noticed is that the death grip has gotten better,in fact when I grab/grip the tab the wifi bars don't drop like they used to.

Thanks a lot for the pics! Have you tried holding power and volume down for a few seconds to see if it can capture screenshots? Also, can you post a picture of the notification pull down?
I just did and it either turns down the volume or pulls up the power menu. Pic uploaded on previous post.
Also, are there more notification toggles if you swipe to the left? Is that wallpaper that you're using a stock wallpaper? Is the tablet faster and smoother after the update? Can the tablet rotate into landscape on the home screen? One more thing, do live wallpapers make the tab lag like they did in 4.0.4 and 4.0.3 or does the tab still run fast?
Finally get screenshots for u guys !!!!

I am uploading a quick video,so that you can see that. regarding the wallpapers,we still have the same ones from Samsung (the one you see is from the Motorola Atrix 2).
Landscape rotation on home screen and apps is something that we lost with this update ,which is retarded if you ask me.
As for lag and wallpapers,I can't notice any different with or without it on,maybe because I always set my animations to:
-Windows animation scale: off
-Transition animation scale: 0.5x
-animation duration scale: off
Thanks everybody! This tablet is going to get a lot better when Jelly Bean is released

No, I mean the system button at the bottom that looks like a home. If you hold that button down, will the task manager mini app pop up?
While I was browsing Google maps my nexus 7 made a noise. It wasn't quite the camera noise but it was close.
Then popped up some superuser requests from an "app" called dump state. I know I should have taken a screenshot of what it was asking for but one of the line codes was something about IP table possibly. I couldn't catch the word fast enough.
Anybody have any info on this?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
It's not a virus, dumpstate gives you detailed system information.
Could this be used for malicious purposes?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
i get this sound and request every time i watch a video, but i can get rid of the dialog that pops up asking what to do with the dump file and still watch the video. how do i find out what is causing this?
Yea I had this pop up twice. and I am not even sure how it was triggered. the first time was while i was on my way to work... and i left my tablet in my bag and when i took it out at the office my screen was on and asking for su and then wanted me to email it to myself or put it in drive.
2nd time just happened while i was leaving office today or rather while i was already on my way home from the office.
Im using PA2.99b8 and not clue how its triggered... any insights into how not to have it keep poping up as it drains battery cause it just leaves my screen on would be nice.
Its triggered by simultaneous pressing of volume and power. Simply delete bugmailer.sh to be done with the annoyance.

volume-down and power in PA takes a screenshot and i tried volume-up + power but that does nothing. how can i recreate this manually
also where do i find this bugmailer.sh

It also happend to my international note 2. I didnt know what triggered it. My phone hanged after i denied its request. Any ideas guys?
It's an issue with superSU latest update. Chainfire is aware and will fix it tomorrow.
@ChainfireXDA: Cause of dumpstate found. Little to see here. Will explain later, gotta run to a birthday party now!
anyone using this for their note 9 ? i have it install in my Note 9 (exynos duo), everything is good until i click on button on pie control, it take nearly 2-5 second to load apps, is kind of irritating for me, anyone facing this issue ? or i miss out something ?

btw my is really slow right ?
i found one funny issue with my pie control, if i open pie control in any screen other than home screen, it work perfectly but in home screen it take few second to load, any one have idea what it cause ?
I am actually taking back my recommendation on this app...
more than once I have had it kind of "take over" my screen.
What I mean is, any touch on my screen is attempting to touch something in PIE control (and not actually graphically showing PIE control, btw).
you effectively can't do anything at that point.
Its been a few days since I stopped using it, but I really did pretty exhaustively try to figure out how to stop this.
I really liked this app's "swipe" method instead of pulling the PIE out and having to like hold on a button for a quick sec, this app lets you do it in a smooth swiping motion.
Anyways, ive given up and gone back to onscreen navigation keys.
Every method I have tried (including XDA's navigation) has had some small hangups that eventually have problems working.
And no I haven't reported errors and such in respective threads, I just give up because my "lots of effort into having a hacky phone" days are behind me
